Report is showing 2 different domains?
-
Hello SEOMOZ Fam,
I am trying to get a understanding on what is the best method for me to do moving forward. I am just noticing that my reports are showing data for both http://domain & http://www.domain which is what has been confusing me for this whole past month.
I have just went into my control panel and redirected domains to be just http://domain....will me doing this redirect clean up my next crawl report next week or are there other steps I need to do with my domain or even my campaign? I think I chose root level for my campaign setting.
Thanks so much n advance

I made the domain redirect changes last week on the 18th and had my crawl complete on sunday but still seeing both domains in my report? Does it take time and maybe i need to wait for couple crawls before I see the domains fall off or do i need to start a whole new campaign? Current campaign is root level domain campaign without the www.
THanks n advance

The main benefit to having done that redirect, Dezmond, isn't to clean up your SEOMoz report, but to fix the fact that the search engines were seeing those different URLs as totally different sites, and were dividing your site's authority between them (making each one weaker than the total would have been if operating as one)
So good for getting the redirect done! As long as it was created using a 301 Redirect, that should clean up both the search engine issue and the issue in your SEOMoz reports.
The one additional thing you can do as a reinforcement of the process is to go into your Google Webmaster Tools account and use the Settings in the Configuration section to tell Google which is the preferred version of your domain. (You'll need to verify both version of the domain in Webmaster Tools in order to be able to do this).
Hope that helps?
Paul

Crawl reports urls with duplicate content but its not the case
Hi guys!
Moz Pro | | MakMour
Some hours ago I received my crawl report. I noticed several records with urls with duplicate content so I went to open those urls one by one.
Not one of those urls were really with duplicate content but I have a concern because website is about product showcase and many articles are just images with href behind them. Many of those articles are using the same images so maybe thats why the seomoz crawler duplicate content flag is raised. I wonder if Google has problem with that too. See for yourself how it looks like: http://by.vg/NJ97y
http://by.vg/BQypE Those two url's are flagged as duplicates...please mind the language(Greek) and try to focus on the urls and content. ps: my example is simplified just for the purpose of my question. <colgroup><col width="3436"></colgroup>

How to handle 2 domains pointing to the same server.
My client has 2 domains which point to the same sever. eg a.com and b.com both point to the same place. For now a.com has better seo but the client wants to switch to using b.com more. Im guessing 301 redirects will not work in this case. How would I handle this? If i'm forced to manage both domains, what is the best practice for monitoring in seomoz pro. Should i set up a.com as a competitor?

Question about a dramatic decrease in domain authority.
My personal website http://Bsalva.com has started to drop in both page authority and domain authority. This seems to be largely due to open site explorer not picking up all of my inbound links. Right now it says I only have one linking root domain, but I know this to be crap. I have quite a few followed links from well trusted and reputable sites. My page rank typically bounces between a 5 and 6. I should also have hundreds of inbound links. The other sites In my campaign monitor haven't taken such a hit so I'm starting to get a little worried. Does anyone know what might cause incoming links to not me recognized? they were just fine last month, and I can go find them on the web as we speak.

Were do I find the old Link Scape report that shows Domain Juice passed?
It looks like they are retiring the old Link scape. Where do we find the report that showed the Domain Juice passed by each link? Is it in the advanced reports and we need to request and wait?
