For a web design firm, should i make a google plus local page or company page?
-
I have a web design firm located in India,
At this moment we are focusing on local clients as the current competition in local market is very low. But in few months we will shift our focus to outsourcing. So I wanted to know if we should make a google plus local page and connect it with my google places account and website or should I make a google plus business page and connect it to website?
Our major focus is on seo.
Thanks

Hi,
A google plus local page could help for local rankings, especially when Google SERPS return a 'local 7-pack' of results.
In my experience I have not seen many Google SERPS with G+ Local listings showing in the results for web design / seo related queries. However, I have seen Google show a G+ Local listing for one SEO company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin because they branded themselves as the "Milwaukee SEO Company" with a matching domain name, but this seems to be the exception.
When you say 'Google Plus Local page', I assume that you mean a Google Plus Business Page created in the 'local' category.
At this time you can only merge a G+ Local listing with at G+ Business page that was created in the 'local' category, however service area businesses (SABs) do not qualify for this merging at this time. Meaning, that if you are required to hide your address in your G+ Local/Google Places dashboard (if you only service customers at their location and/or customers do not come to your office), you most likely won't be able to verify your G+ Business page, so they wouldn't get merged either.

Migrating login page from website: SEO impact
Our current login page looks like www.website.com/log-in/. We are planning to migrate it to a sub directory login.website.com. For years, our login page is the top landing with highest visits after homepage. If we migrate this now, are we going to loose traffic and drop in rankings? Thanks

Fetch as Google not showing Waypoints.js on scroll animation
So I noticed that my main content underneath 4 reasons to choose LED Habitats did not show up in Fetch as Google as well as a few other sections. The site being brand new, so I'm not sure how this will be indexed. What happens is, as the user scrolls the content is brought in using Waypoints and Animate.css which offers an engaging yet simple user experience. I'm just afraid that If the content doesn't show up in "Fetch as Google" in webmaster tools that this content will never be found / indexed by Google. There are thousands of sites that use this library, I'm just curious what I'm doing wrong.. or what I can do. Is there a way for me to keep the simple animations but keep Google Happy at the same time? I took a screen shot of "Fetch as Google" and you can see blatant missing sections which are the sections animated by the waypoints library. Thanks for listening! Robert ZqgLWHi

Reasons Why Our Website Pages Randomly Loads Without Content
I know this is not a marketing question but this community is very dev savvy so I'm hoping someone can help me. At random times we're finding that our website pages load without the main body content. The header, footer and navigation loads just fine. If you refresh, it's fine but that's not a solution. Happens on Chrome, IE and Firefox, testing with multiple browser versions Happens across various page types - but seems to be only the main content section/container Happens while on the company network, as well as externally Happens after deleting cookies, temporary internet files and restarting computer We are using a CMS that is virtually unheard of - Bridgeline/Iapps Codebase is .net Our IT/Dev group keeps pushing back, blaming it on cookies or Chrome plugins because they apparently are unable to "recreate the problem". This has been going on for months and it's a terrible experience for the user to have. It's also not great when landing PPC visitors on pages that load with no content. If anyone has ideas as to why this may be happening I would really appreciate it. I'm not sure if links are allowed, by today the issue happened on this page serversdirect.com/dm/geek-biz Linking to an image example below knEUzqd

Best techniques for trying to rank a single page website?
I am new to SEO and am currently trying to market a single page website. Its proving to be hard. I have managed to get the site to page one for a few keywords and it is improving (upto page 2 for some desired keywords) but it seems to have stuck there for a few weeks now - with no movement. I am able to develop it if required. However I thought that I would just ask if there was anything that could give it a nudge without this? I have done on-site optimisation. As far as I'm aware that's about as good as it can be. So any advice?

How to make my site title H1?
Hi In my Header.php I have the following php code for my title: <title><br /><?php<br />// Generate Page Title dynamically<br />if (is_home()) {<br /> bloginfo('name'); ?> - <?php bloginfo('description');<br />} elseif (is_category()) {<br /> single_cat_title(); ?> - <?php bloginfo('name');<br />} elseif (is_single()) {<br /> single_post_title();<br />} elseif (is_page()) {<br /> bloginfo('name'); ?>: <?php single_post_title();<br />} elseif (is_404()) {<br /> bloginfo('name'); ?> - <?php _e("Page not found", "fungames");<br />} elseif (is_search()) {<br /> bloginfo('name'); ?> - <?php _e("Search results for", "fungames"); echo esc_html($s, 1);<br />}<br />?><br /></title> This generates a good title different for every page/post I have on my site. But is now H1. I want the same code if, but with H1 tag somewhere in it. Cant figure it out how to do it! Can u help please?

Question About Site Redesign and Nav / Page Structure
Hey guys, i am currently redesigning our company's site, and have come across some things that I'm not quite sure of. We used to have individual service pages in our main navigation (design, video, marketing) before the redesign. In this new design, i had the idea of making just one "services" or "capabilities" page, where these three services would each be outlined, and each service would have a list of links to more specific landing pages. Obviously, breaking it up correctly with HTML5 using the andtags. What I'm wondering is that if i'm going to be penalized for having those three services that aren't necessarily related too closely on the same page as opposed to having the one page for each service (like we have now). Any help would be greatly appreciated, and let me know if i need to elaborate more. Thanks in advance!

What's the best way to sculpt links on a page?
I know PR isn't a top ranking factor anymore, so "PR sculpting" isn't something to focus on. But isn't it still true that having more links that you need on any given page is worse than having fewer, in terms of that page's authority? I'm managing a site that has a lot of navigational links in the footer, which are duplicative because they're almost all included in the top nav bar, and several are triplicated in the sidebar as well. I wanted to remove 85% of these duplicative links from the footer, thinking they diluted the page authority and that most users probably won't scroll there anyway when we launch the site. The site owner is pushing back, though, not wanting to remove so many links because he believes they might be useful to some users. We can test our respective user-behavior theories after launching, but right now I have two questions: Will having a sizable number of duplicative links in the footer dilute the page's authority? and 2) Are there any other ways to reduce this dilution, aside from simply removing the links? (I know nofollow is not the answer, but possibly using iframes or Java or something like that?)

Order of my products on page?
Hi, I read somewhere that Google reads a page in a certain way. All my product pages are listed (or most of them) in Alphabetical order. Now say I am targeting brands named Cruyff and Money Clothing, should I put all the Cruyff and Money products above everything else? See here for example... http://www.designerboutique-online.com/jackets/ They are in Alph order, except the sales items at the bottom. So would it be beneficial to do this? To put my targeted brands at the top of the page? And if not, is there anything I should be doing with the layout of the products to improve/help with SEO? Thanks Will
