Ranking overseas

I have a well established website that I market as the busness being based in London, how hard would it be for me to start ranking for phrases in America? (An increasing amount of our work is being carried out in America.) What exactly would it entail?
Thanks in advance.

That's quite hard to tell without knowing more about the website, keywords etc. Will you target the US with the same website or will you launch a new one?
After you've decided on which keywords you'd like to rank for, start with making an analysis of the keyword difficulty and the competition in the US. Take a look at the metrics of sites that rank well for the keyword you're targeting and have a look at their link profile. Also don't forget to do a little keyword research so you get an idea of the search volumes and can check if users in the US use the same keyword as they do in the UK. This information will give you a better understanding of the market and will allow you to plan and prioritise your SEO efforts better.

Is it on a .com or another TLD? What geographical area do you have your Google Webmaster Tools set to target? It might be easier to create a whole new website so you can target each continent separately, especially if you have a co.uk domain.

Domain Change -- Drop in Rank
So I had a client that recently decided to change their URL to make it more "searchable"/shorter. Since doing so, I have noticed a significant drop in rankings for a number of the keyword terms we were previously ranking for. Is there a way to push the links to the new URL or is the only solution to revert back to the old URL?

Sudden decline in ranking
Hi SEO People, Rankings for one of my search keywords has declined over the last two weeks from place 2-4 down to 13-15 on Google NZ. It had sat at the place 2-4 level for months. Nothing has changed on any of the sites above/below ours, and nor have any changes been made to our site. All our other, similar, keyword rankings have either stayed unchanged or improved. Does anyone have any bright ideas?

Certain product ranking higher than category (ecommerce)
Hi all, I'm a bit stumped on a SERP. The product is ranking higher than the actual category. Is there anyway to fix this? When I type in "category111", I get the product link instead of a link to the general category. It would be "productname category111" and link would point to product not category. Hope that makes since! TIA

Massive Rank Fluctuation in Bing/Yahoo
About two months ago we dealt with some issues that were causing weak rankings in Bing and Yahoo! since then, we've seen rankings rise and plummet dramatically with no changes to the site. On Bing and Yahoo! we've gone from 1st page to less than 50th and back again THREE times. This happens across all keywords, even branded ones that are an exact-match for the domain. Google rankings have continued to rise steadily. We benefited greatly from Penguin, which tanked a number of competitors. Bing webmaster tools aren't showing any server or other kinds of errors during the rank drops. Has anyone every experienced this before?

Severe Drops in Google UK rankings
Hi Guys, I'm Chris - SEO Noob & appointed website man @ www.customdesignedcable.co.uk I signed up to SEO moz at the end of February and i have slowly but surely been trying to implement the on-page optimisation suggestions with my selected keywords against the appropriate pages. Since i have done this, our pages are still ranking but no where near what they were at before. Out of 70 keywords, we've gone from at least 60+ pages on the first page down to 20+ and the number in the top three has dropped from 55 to 33. Obviously i'm no seo guru far far from it but all of the changes that have been suggested i have adhered to and the result is the exact opposite of what i was hoping for and expecting. I'm after some advice as to how to use seomoz to target my keywords to google primarily to get these page rankings back. Should i just upload backup copies of the site? How would you suggest that i move forward to try and achieve at least similar rankings to what i had previously? Any help is much appreciated as most of our enquiries come from the internet and it has almost completely dried up these last couple of months. Thanks Guys! Chris. P.S. Would redesigning the site look, layout and feel with the same content negatively affect seo? Also, as a completely separate question, how come sites with content that is a lot worse than ours rank higher for the same keywords as ours? Thanks Again

Changing Domain Registrars have an affect on rankings?
So, I just wanted to move my domain from GoDaddy to NameCheap. I am still thinking about the move as I am not sure what affect it will have on my rankings. Has anyone here done it before? Did you see any drop in rankings? Also, while I was at it - I was thinking maybe I can add WhoisGuard too. I am not too paranoid about people getting my info from WhoIs, but does having a private Whois have an affect on ranking?

Bing rank drop off for multiple sites
Hi Mozzers, Seeing some wacky stuff going on on some sites I manage. In more than a few, the ranking on bing has dropped basically overnight from page one spots to not being found on the first 100 positions. Anyone else seeing similar results? Some of the sites are fairly new, some have been around for ages, some are wordpress, some are not. I've been searching for some news of a big change on bing, but keep reading about bing dropping the thin sites during black friday. In one example, I had the site set up in BWT for a while, and had a look at the data. The reports show that the pages are crawled, the index summary shows pages indexed, and there seems to be no crawl errors, but rankings are absolutely gone. Also, I can't see the sites in bing if I search "site:example.com" in bing. Here's 2 examples, the first would make sense since it's pretty thin as I havent added much content yet: http://homewindowtint.org but this one doesn't make sense to me. Sure there's a few errors, but to be dropped like a rock seems weird http://www.ahmedandsukaram.com

What Parts Of Domain Registration Change Affect Rank
Could changing one's physical address for a domain or going from public to private registration have a negative affect on rank? Other factors? Thanks!
