Ranking a specific inner page for a specific website

Hi, I'm new here and it's my first question.

I'm not so new in SEO, the thing that I know now is google has changed its game plan. lol.

My question is:
- I have a specific website (aged website but not well-optimized overall), and I want the inner page (with good on page optimization for a certain kw) to rank for the main kw that it's optimized for.
How to do this these days?

Should we build more kw to this page like usual? If yes, then what best practices to do it?

Wrong page ranking and rank drop, help!

Dear Moz community I would like to hear your advice about our current SEO problems. Our website is www.poolsonline.nl. This is a website where people can learn the Polish language on our website. This website has been online since 2007. The website got really outdated, so we built and launched a new version on March 1st (one month ago). We have created a salespage that we would like to rank for the keywords 'cursus Pools' (Polish course) first of all and 'pools leren' (learn Polish) secondly. The page is https://www.poolsonline.nl/cursus-pools-leren-spreken/ The old website was on rank 4-5 (roughly) for 'cursus Pools' and 'pools leren'. When we launched the new website we were on the top 5 with two of our pages. We were even on rank 1 and our salespage was also showing on the first page and often also in the top 5 (below the 'wrong' page of ours). We got quite a lot of trafic and new clients. However the problem was that the wrong page was ranking higher. We wanted our salespage to rank and not our home page (https://www.poolsonline.nl/) and not our free lesson (https://www.poolsonline.nl/lessen/groeten-en-gesprek-voeren-in-het-pools-les-1/). So what we did: Read/watched recourses about this problem: https://moz.com/blog/wrong-page-ranks-for-keywords-whiteboard-friday and https://moz.com/blog/wrong-page-ranking-in-the-results-6-common-causes-5-solutions and others. Removed the keywords (cursus pools en Pools leren) from the wrong pages (home and free lesson pages). Optimized the Salespage for these keywords Improved internal linking with these key words to our salespage Worked on link building for our salepage. We got about 5-10 links to our salespage in the first week of March (5 seems to be significant for this competition and we are working on more). These links are not yet in Moz OSE, but Google has indexed these pages and links. We are now on the bottom of page 1 or on page 2 for 'cursus Pools' and 'Pools leren' and not with the desired page Questions we have for you to help us: Why do you think our salespage is not showing up anymore for these keywords ('cursus pools' and 'pools leren')? Do you think we got a penalty for over optimization or bad links? What can we more to get our salespage to rank for these keywords? (we are working on building/earning more links) What can we do to restore our rankings and not drop lower anymore? Do we need to give our efforts more time? How long? Any other adivce? How do I search for a link within a competitors website that is linking my website?

Hello, I have just been checking my link profile and according to webmaster tools a competitor is linking to my website. Is there anyway of finding this link besides looking at every page within their website? Many thanks

Low Page Authority for key landing pages

Hi guys - I am struggling to understand why I have a Page Authority of 1 (!) for most of my key product landing pages. All of them are linked to directly from the Homepage, which has PA 46 and DA 40. Many of them are also linked to from high ranking external sites. Less valuable pages on the site, with far fewer links, seem to have much higher PA. For some reason these just don't seem to be registering the link juice which is flowing to them. In fact, OSE doesn't seem to register any links for them - perhaps this is the biggest clue? I am at a bit of a loss. Some of these pages still rank highly for relevant keywords on Google. But something clearly isn't quite right. Has anyone experienced similar?

Company on top website, no hyperlink

Hi - my company's name and website have been mentioned on 3 major websites but there is no hyperlink. Does this totally destroy any SEO value of these mentions? So disappointing, since it's hard to ask a reporter to include a hyperlink / they usually can't.

Is there a tool to find out our website's link in some other website?

sometimes we know our site link is there on a site but the site is so big its hard to search manually. Is there any tool which can crawl the whole site and find the page having our site link ? though I know about OSE, and we can also see backlinks from webmaster tool. But still if you know any tool where instead of seeing the whole back link profile, we can add a specific url and see our site link in that url.

Should I work on links to a specific page or site in general?

I'm about to start working on getting links to our site and my question is should I work on getting links to that specific page or would it be OK to just get links to the home page (same seo effect)?
