Help on Link Building
-
Hi,
Recently I've dropped two points on my Root Domain Authority for smallhope.com.
Not really sure why. I've done as much on page optimisation that I can think of, but what I would really like some help on is Link Building.
If this was your domain what would you do specifically and start link building. I've read a ton of stuff but I just dont seem to know a way to begin.
Can you offer me any advice? I've dropped 20% in traffic in the last 8 months.
Hope you can help,
Adam

Hey Guys,
Thanks for that I think I'm going to start them today. Relationship building, I think I will keep that in mind.
I'm going to go through our photos now and get them all organised. We're also doing a press kit and will start pushing travel bloggers and newspaper writers to come down and do stories on us.
The place is beautiful and the history is pretty special so I'll push that too.
I was sitting here trying to think of sites to request links on but I guess thats an outdated way of thinking about it.
Thanks Guys!

Don't think of it as link building as much as relationship building and community engagement. If you think of your primary goal as relationship building then an obvious place to start is by getting engaged on other high traffic travel blogs/communities. It's extremely important to start with engagement so you can establish some rapport with the community before doing outreach and offering a "free guest post." Webmasters of quality sites are inundated with requests from complete strangers for "free content" that if you don't establish some sort of rapport first you won't get 1/4 of the responses you would have.
That being said, you should also start building several Twitter lists of authors and influencers in your niche so that you can start engaging with them via Twitter. I find engaging via Twitter just about the easiest way to start building rapport with someone.
After you have a sense of who is influential in your space and you make efforts to engage with their content and build rapport then you will have a very clear idea of what kind of content you need to create and you will have a relationship in place to start pitching the content once it's ready to go live.
Essentially link building isn't about any tactic, it's writing content, having a network to share it with, enough credibility/authority to get your content picked up somewhere other than your blog, and your commitment to engage with the audience that responds to your piece.
Sites aren't looking for "free guests posts" they want authoritative authors that drive community engagement!

Sit down in a room with a pencil and piece of paper for an hour and write out ideas. Here are a few of mine:
- Participate on vacation forums, offer advice for people looking to save on trips to the Bahamas.
- Release high-quality photos of your lodge with a CC license.
- Write and release a comprehensive guide to planning a Bahamas trip on the cheap.
- Write and publish an article series, "1000 things to do on your Bahamas vacation". Day 1, swim with sharks, day 2, go parasailing, etc etc.
- Write and publish guest posts on travel blogs. ("The 10 hottest night clubs in the bahamas","5 reasons the bahamas are the perfect family vacation spot", etc)
- Setup a webcam at the lodge and stream it to a dedicated page on the site.
- Do a facebook giveaway of branded SWAG.
These are ideas I thought of in about 60 seconds having no experience or knowledge of the vacation niche
Good luck!

Are these links helping
Hi, We have had a few new links for a client and we are hoping that we can get some feedback on whether these have any link juice. We dont want to waste our time with links that dont benefit the website. Thanks http://thebestmealplancateringbiz.strikingly.com/blog/diet-meal-plan-delivery-services http://mealplanguide.home.blog/2018/11/02/importance-of-diet-meal-plans/ https://besthealthymeals.tumblr.com/post/179669447854/benefits-of-diet-meal-planning https://lauraberbenaj2.wixsite.com/mysite/blog/healthy-diet-meals-delivery

Have any suggestions for next steps in link building campaign?
We are conducting SEO and white-hat link building campaign for a client that is in the national (US) fertility/infertility niche. So far we've done outreach to potential websites that we found to be a good fit for the campaign, although the conversion rate for getting Guest Posts, even Sponsored Posts is quite low. Furthermore, the number of these potential websites is close to running out and it's getting harder to find other websites with relevant metrics that are outreach-worthy. Besides Guest Post/Sponsored Post outreach, we've done Link Reclamation, Resource Links and Broken Link Building. Also, we tried expanding the list of keywords to try and come up with some new leads (in sub-niches) but haven't had much success. One peculiar thing that is happening when we do start a communication with the blog/website owners is that they get interested in the topic at first, up to the point of asking us to send them a Guest Post article and then.. silence, no response from them. We do a couple of follow-ups, but in most cases we don't hear back from them. We realize that there could be some editorial changes that they might want to be done, which we would be willing to do, but they just simply do not respond at all. When talking to other people in the SEO business we get different opinions on how to proceed, ranging from creation of web 2.0 properties and linking them up with video content and the client website, to even creating SEO link wheels. We are quite committed to our client and would love to get their site ranking, but we're reluctant to use tactics that might yield only short term results and might end up hurting the rankings on the long run. Other part of our strategy is creating quality content on our client's blog (within their website) and doing outreach to bloggers to get them interested in the topics that we are covering. So far these efforts have also not been very successful. Basically, my question is when you are doing a link building campaign for a client, what is your next strategy when the link opportunities run out?

Link Building in 2014
Hi everyone.
Link Building | | KarenJames
We like most are struggling to link build this year in line with Google guidelines. First step for us is a back link clean up then a really thorough competitor analysis to see what the competitors have that we may wish to emulate. We also ask the clients to provide us with information about their associations, memberships, suppliers, partners etc so we can see if there is synergy to get them a decent link from sites in their immediate orbit.
After that we produce some excellent content but getting it published, particularly with a follow link, is just getting harder and harder. We are also a PR agency so we encourage the clients to 'think out of the box' with regard to a PR campaign. It is fair to say that most clients don't understand what we are trying to do and don't have the stomach to be different.
I was wondering if anyone else did anything different, any fabulous ideas we are missing?
Also is anyone still submitting content to Ezine articles? They are incredibly picky about unique content, grammar etc but is it/will it still be grouped in with the article link farms?
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks Karen1 -
Is there any link building value to design showcase websites?
I am interested to hear people's opinions on this. We are launching a microsite that is for branding purposes only, no real SEO strategy beyond optimizing for branded terms on it. However the design of the site is strong in my opinion. I think it could get picked up by "sites of the day" websites, showcases, galleries, etc. Would there be SEO benefit of in being featured on those sites since they tend to be curated lists of only the best sites and therefore editorial links? Or is there danger of those not being seen as quality links that could get you into trouble?

Link Building - Affiliate Link Programs
I'm getting some conflicting information when researching this... I want to create the most organic link building strategy that not only gets high authority sites linking to a website, but relevant websites. I'm creating an affiliate link program where I link to partner and affiliate companies, who in turn link back to me. The question is where to put these links. I was initially thinking of putting them in the footer so they add credibility to every page, and in turn ask my affiliates to do the same thing. However; some sources say that Google no longer looks at links in the footer section. Is it true that Google doesn't count links in footer sections? And do you have any tips on creating this Affiliate Link Program?

Where do I find the best link building company?
Hi there, I'm trying to find an ethical, honest, link building company. We don't want links on shady forums, or comment spam, or any of that black hat nastyness!. I want links, on proper sites, and I'm prepared to pay for them accordingly. We're also more than happy to write/have written/ quality content that can be linked to. (We already pump out about 15 x 400+ word, optimised blogs weeks) We spend hours on the various social media sites also. So I think the only thing we're really missing now, is decent backlinks and possibly some more long tail keywords... Over to you guys. Paul.

How to Define Quality of External Website During Link Building?
I want to know about process, method or tool which can help me to define quality of external website during link building. We are searching too many questions and topics on Google to resolve daily mind bubbles which land us on different website with different subject. I found that, I was able to drop my website URL over there but confuse about quality of website. I am selling Football and create external link from baby care website. So, will it make sense? My concern is that, Can we create external links from different subject website or specific to subject oriented website? Is there any specific method which help me to understand more about external website and help me to take decision about link building?
