Changeing Hyperlinks from Do Follow to Do Not Follow
-
I Have a blog on my website and we do guest post from time to time. I was contacted by a blogger to change the Back links on his Article from Do Follow to Do not Follow. His Article has been live for 5 Months. When I asked him of the reason for that his Answer was that he needs to comply with Google's New Alogarithm ! Has Anyone Had Similar situation or can shed more light on that issue ?

Hi Giantuca,
Thanks a lot for your reply. I understand now. When I was asked to change that back link to no follow I thought there was some problem with my website in fact.
My blog is tripsetc.com/blog and has not been penalized by any search engine so as it was the first time I encounter that situation i was puzzled.
Thanks again. BTW Noticed you live in Valencia an Awesome city with a good Soccer team.
Best Regards.

Hi Sherif
Your situation is quite common: you have been contacted by someone, whose site (or client's site) received - possibly - a message from Google about "unnatural links".
Or, simply, it has bee hit by Penguin.
So... in a frenzy for cleaning the link profile of the site, that guy started asking for "nofollowing" backlinks or even deleting them.
Sincerely, not knowing your blog, I can't tell you if that guest author had a reason for asking you that kind of request, but to put that link as nofollow doesn't really cost you nothing.

SEO: How to change page content + shift its original content to other page at the same time?
Hello, I want to replace the content of one page of our website (already indexeed) and shift its original content to another page. How can I do this without problems like penalizations etc? Current situation: Page A

URL: example.com/formula-1
Content: NEW CONTENT! Page B
URL: example.com/formula-1-news
Content: ContentPageA (The content that was in Page A!) Content of the two pages will be about the same argument (& same keyword) but non-duplicate. The new content in page A is more optimized for search engines. How long will it take for the page to rank better?0 -
To noindex and follow or noindex no follow?
We have to greatly scale back on one of our services and focus on the other more successful ones. I need to figure out what to do with all the pages relating to the service we are cutting back. Just to be clear, we aren't getting rid of the service. So they still want the pages on the website, but it is better for us to have more link juice going to the other service pages, more of our content ratio to be around the more profitable services, etc. So, should I no-index/no-follow all the pages relating to the service we are cutting back on? Or should I no-index/follow all the pages relating the service we are cutting back on? Thanks, Ruben

What was your experience with changing site url's?
I work with a company that is about to move to a new platform. Because the category and page structure is different every almost every url but the home page will need to be 301 redirected. I know how to do this and am pretty sure I will find and fix 99% ahead of time and not have too many 404's showing up in webmaster tools to clean up. My question is has anyone who is reading this post had to do this before and what was your experience with organic traffic after you made the switch. I am predicting that even if I successfully redirected 100% of the url's there would be some loss for a couple of months just due to the fact that we are making a major change. My bosses are asking if there will be any loss and I need to tell them what to expect.

Has anyone else noticed a big change in SERPS in the past week or two
We've had a massive change in our position, we were pretty stable on certain keywords for quite some time, however in the past week we were bouncing around and then thrown completely off with some of our keywords dropping to page 4 and some to page 2. I've noticed a lot of changes on the google uk serps, and not sure if it is just a penguin refresh or if its a new one that hasn't been announced. anyone else notice?

Recent Algo Change
I was wondering if anybody can shed some light on any recent changes to the Google algorithm in Australia. A competitor, www.manwithavan.com.au has always been number 1 for the most competitive search term in our industry "removalists melbourne". However, in the last week, they have fallen out of the the SERPS and are now (according to MOZ) ranking outside the top 50. As far as l can tell, they have a really well optimized site with good structure, great text and updated content. They are very active within social media circles and have some really good external links. Can anybody tell me why they would have been hit so badly. The reason l ask is that i want to make sure we don't make the same mistake. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Recent ranking drop followed by strange behavior in SERPS
Recently on the evening of August 5th almost all of the keywords our pages ranked highly for dropped by anywhere from 5 to 8 pages. The only activity during this time was an article that had been picked up by a major news outlet and then was apparently copied onto other sources with links to our domain and article. More puzzling though is rather than simply having the same page show up lower for a keyword, in a number of instances a different page is now shown for the result, often with less or no relevance to the keyword. In some cases, for a single keyword phrase we've seen as many as 10 different pages rotated throughout the day when performing a search. Prior to our rankings falling, we've never seen this behavior.

My warning report says I have too many on page links - 517! I can't find 50% of them but my q is about no follow
if we put 'no follow' on some of these links does that mean the search engines won't index the no follow pages even if those pages are linked to from elsewhere? no link juice will flow from the page with the (no follow) links on? Just trying to understand why my rankings have dropped so dramatically in the last 6 weeks or so since we redesigned the site, and it might be that now we have too many links on the homepage. This is the page http://www.suffolktouristguide.com/ All suggestions appreciated!

Will ranking be improved or hurt by changing 1/5 of part numbers to key words
Note: I bold major content for your quick skim for your convenience. Does this help you decide if its a fit for your response? My site has been devastated by the Panda or unknown reasons so I need to think outside the box. I distribute industrial products with average brand recognition. I only have about 5 competitors selling this same brand. My other brand competitors are billion dollar companies that pay a lot for PPC and have sites with 10 times the product offering. Since my brand recognition is not as important as the function.I'm thinking about changing the part numbers to reflect function. This will affect about 1/5of the parts ( about 500 out of 3,000 parts) . My concern is will ranking be hurt or helped by changing these parts with these strong keywords in front of the part for such a high % of the site. The strong keywords cost $10 for a chance at a $200 sale with repeat business. Example: Current part is: 10-10 Black Plastic; which is a Big Red Truck with my brand part # as 10-10 and comes in different colors of plastic. . Keyword is Big Red Truck. I would like to put my manufactures brand in the description. My same brand competitors sell 10,000 parts and my logic is that if I have the brand in 1/5 of my parts ranking would be improved because of the % of brand per the site versus my same brand competitors.. So I would change the part # to : **Brand 10-10-Black Plastic Big Red Truck ** In conversation I would state the part as: Brand: 18 characters, Part #: 8, Material:12, Keyword: 27 If the keyword should be first I could change to: K,B P,M. Which is recommended?
