Prefix added to Titles in SERP
-
We are getting different titles in Search Engine Result Page, where PakWheels: is added to the actual title of page. Your expert opinion is highly appreciated. What can be the possible reason of "PakWheels:" appearing. This is a case for only home page of website.
Search query 'cars in pakistan' shows 3rd result with title
Pakwheels: Cars, Used Cars, New Cars, Latest Car Prices & News ...
Whereas the actual title of page is without 'PakWheels:'

It seems that Google is moving the site or company name to the front with a colon in some situations. I don't know if anyone has done a thorough study of it, but from what I have seen it seems to happen with sites that have a fairly solid brand established, but have page titles that are too long, keyword stuffed or for whatever other reason Google decides to alter what appears in the SERPs.
Google has been shortening or altering such longer and spammier titles for a while, but about a month ago these "Brand: xxxxx" titles started appearing. To me it seemed funny because I have used that format on the home page of my own site and many others for a while because it just made sense to me. I guess Google thinks so too.

Some Old date showing in SERP
I see some old date Jan 21 2013 showing up for some categories in Google search results. These are category pages and I do not see the date in view source. This is not a wordpress site or a blog page. We keep changing this page by removing/adding items so it is not outdated.

Missing Titles?
Hi All, Don't know if anyone can help me but Moz is showing lots of errors for my website for not having title tags for pages when they do? Also when a user refines they search results it is seeing every instance of this as a new page - we have canonical tags across the site to stop this happening yet it is still occurring each time - is there anything else we can do to resolve this problem? It's creating lots of errors for us. Thanks, Laura

Competitor Recently Changed his Title to Match Mine
Hey Mozsters, I'm competing with one website for a niche, he's currently beating me and recently changed his Title to match mine exactly. Are there any negative repercussions from this? Should I change mine so users aren't confused? Why would someone do this?

Authorship and Aggregate Rating in SERPS
I've setup authorship and aggregate rating information for our website. It all checks in the Structured Data Testing Tool, but the results in the SERPs have been on then off. At first my authorship image showed on all articles were the markup existed, then suddenly it went away. Then more recently, the aggregate rating information displayed on all pages were the markup existed, then again, it suddenly disappeared. I'm curious if anyone knows if the disappearance of these things are the result of manual action from Google or simply because the algorithm gathering more information that would cause the items to stop showing for one reason or another? In both cases the markup didn't change previous to the results disappearing. This leads me to believe the change in the SERPs wasn't a result of the markup, but rather something on Google's side.

Changing all titles
A new client of mine has a terrible Wordpress site with many issues and one of these is keyword stuffing, especially in the title. We all know how bad it is, but then what's the best way to remove the keywords in excess? They stuffed 4 keywords (average 3 terms per keyword) in the wordpress General Settings "Site Title", so all of them are included in the title, and there are 200 pages basically with the same, stuffed, title. I am pretty sure if I remove them, and put a unique keyword per page I would have a huge rank drop, but is there any way to minimize it? 2nd question: should I improove the on-page factors and wait for the rank drop/resume before starting a linkbuilding campaign? Thank you. DoMiSol

Duplicate Page Titles and Content
I have a site that has a lot of contact modules. So basically each section/page has a contact person and when you click the contact button it brings up a new window with form to submit and then ends with a thank you page. All of the contact and thank you pages are showing up as duplicate page titles and content. Is this something that needs to be fixed even if I am not using them to target keywords?
