It's normal that when you make updates to your content the value of the page is changing and google recalculates it. Try to make changes only when necessary especially if you're editing:
- revenue delivering pages
- good ranking pages
You can use the low traffic pages and not good rankings as a test to see what is most beneficial. Try to group all your changes and make them only if necessary.
If you're doing that for freshness as I said before use articles or other pages which will gain new keywords, may be new links and build value there to flow to your listings pages.
You don't want your listings to bounce up and down in serps.

We have large Ecommerce site selling Johnson outborad engine parts ect. when we update i have seen drop in rankings. We found a lot of dupcate content and are fixing it. but this is taking a long time. So we have been updating web per sub domain. so what do you think once a day or once a month

Hi Trish, it really depends on what your site is about. If you're a news website google will expect many daily updates but if you're a less dynamic market it may be probably fine for you to make changes in longer periods. However to add freshness to a more stable website you may also:
- build a blog or an article sections which always attracts new users and helps feeding your social profiles
- change the order of your listings weekly so they may seem more dynamic than they are(not under google eyes but for users)

One Main Brand Domain - One EMD which Ranks Better
Hello SEO MOZers! We have one one main ecommerce site and I have just discovered we have an EMD sitting on a .co.uk, for one of our premium product ranges, and it actually outranks our main website. It appears on page one. My question is how do I handle the EMD? I don't want to start building authority to this site, as we are currently developing the main brand site, however I can't ignore that it is ranking. There is relatively little content. There are links on the page (it's only one page) that go through to the product section on the main site. But should I 301 redirect it? What would be your advise? I want to capitalise on any traffic we could benefit from, and ultimately I want the main site to rank better for this product's keywords. Any help would much appreciated.

Value of URL Changes
Hi Guys, I have a question. Each product listed on my webstie has product number like /product.php?id=3624. After I spent many hours with MOZ, I figured out that this approach is wrong and I should use the product name as URL to achieve better SEO performance. Now I am planing to change the URL generating algoritm but should I do it for existing products. Some of them have already been linked to external websites. I am thinking to create mirror URLs but this may cause rather damage on my website. Do you know what is the right answer? Best, Tony

HVAC & Air Conditioning - 1 page of 2 ?
Hello all! This has been an on going issue for us trying to rank an air conditioning repair company. The 2 strongest keywords for us are both HVAC Repair and Air Conditioning Repair. The main question is.... Should this be 1 landing page or 2? I think google may recognize HVAC and Air Conditioning as the same thing, because for some crazy reason my air conditioning repair page ranks for the keyword HVAC repair. My HVAC repair page is actually nowhere to be found. I am coming across the same issue with other keywords like HVAC service , and Air Conditioning Service. Or HVAC Maintenance and Air Conditioning maintenance. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Does Google Analytics' Enhanced Link Attribution cause any SEO problems?
We are looking to implement Google Analytics Enhanced Link Attribution on our site. Our tech person says that this will cause SEO problems because of "duplicate URLS." I am not technical, so I don't understand this at all and can't find any research on the topic. I would like to know if there are any known SEO problems caused by putting in Enhanced Link Attribution.

How to overcome blog page 1, 2, 3, etc having no or duplicate meta info?
As the above what is the best way to overcome having the same meta info on your blog pages (not blog posts) So if you have 25 blog posts per page once you exceed this number you then move onto a second blog page, then when you get to 50 you then move onto a 3rd blog page etc etc So if you have thousands f blog pages what is the best method to deal with this rather than having to write 100s of different meta titkes & descriptions? Cheers

Does having a "+" in a URL hurt SEO? Would much value be gained changing it to a hyphen?
There's a site that contains "+" signs in the URL in order to call different information for the content on the page. Would it be better to change those to hyphens (-), or not that much value will be gained, so leave them as is? Thanks!
