Keywords with Low Search Volume under 100
-
Friends,
Generally if you follow all the traditional White Hat SEO methods including Fresh Content how much time it should take for keywords with around search volume of 90 (per month) to show up in Page 1 in Google US.
Thank you

Thanks Mike

To determine a keywords ORGANIC competitiveness seoMOZ created a tool: http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/keyword-difficulty
Many factors (over 200) go into why a page should rank.
-
For one of my clients, a keyword with 28 exact local searches has brought in 2x as many conversions as any other keyword being targeted on the site. It's all about context really.
-
It relies highly on all of the other pages which show up for the specific query, how well optimized they are, their relevancy compared to your page(s) and their continued efforts to rank for that query. I.E. Results May Vary.

Where I work the big cheese decided we had to rank high for 'custom benchmarking' search volume is about 110 per month. Once the page was built and launched it took three weeks to reach #1.
I won't get into the whether it's worthwhile to focus so much on keywords with search volume you can fit in a large bathroom but in my experience it took 3 weeks or so.

Buying keyword urls for local traffic
Hi, I've been told that there is a real benefit in buying up local domain names and setting up mini adverts to your core website... is this actually true? Seems a strange practice. Example: If I had a car cleaning site called 'MozCarCleaning.co.uk' and the company was based in London. Then I'd buy related domains, 'LondonCarCleaning.co.uk' , 'CarValetLondon.co.uk' and make mini websites which then link to the main site. Alternatively, would it be worth just 301 redirecting directly to the core site? Thanks.

How many keywords??
Hello everybody! Quick question. How many keywords is a healthy amount to begin an SEO campaign? I'm getting ready for link building and content writing. I have a list of about 50 keywords (with long tails mostly). Is that too much?? Or should I increase the list?? What are your thoughts?? Thanks

Are reputable local directories effective link building resources for high rankings in local search?
I'm working on a local search campaign. Generally, the first thing I do is add the site to all of the local directories that I know of. I'm curious, with penguin updates, whether or not this is still an effective strategy for local search.

Link building from keyword domains
Hi all, I am currently working on link building to our site http://www.betxpert.com which has a number of keywords I am targeting. I have become aware that domains with the keywords are available. We (in Danish) target the phrase "ekpert tips" and the domain www.eksperttips.dk is available. Would it be a good thing for us, to register this domain and do one of the following things: a) DNS forward traffic to our main site b) Build a small blog with minor content and linking to the main site with text links with the tekst "ekspert tips"? c) Simply do nothing, save the money and spend it otherwise... Hope someone can give me a sound advice. Best regards, Rasmus

Have I suffered a keyword specific penalty?
Hi all, We've been working on improving our ranking for a specific keyword for the past couple of months. Progress has been steady if not spectacular (it's a very competitive keyword). Last week we obtained (not bought!) a site wide link from a partner (nothing fishy, they are business partners in the same industry) as well as a link each from a relevant resource site and a directory with good PA/DA. The anchor text used on the new links is keyword rich. This week our rankings have fallen dramatically from page 2 to page 39 for our targeted page although other pages on our site still rank well for this keyword. The targeted page is still indexed by Google. Could Google just be reassessing our ranking for this page and it will return to its previous rank or is it likely it has received a keyword specific penalty? Thanks in advance.

On-Page Report Rel Canonical and keyword density and backlinks...
Hey guys, 1- In the On-Page Report the "Appropriate Use of Rel Canonical" is not checked and it says <dl> <dt>Canonical URL "http://www.mydomain.com/"</dt> <dt>We check to make sure that IF you use canonical URL tags, it points to the right page. If the canonical tag points to a different URL, engines will not count this page as the reference resource and thus, it won't have an opportunity to rank.</dt> <dt>the domain points to the right page... Im not understading why its checked off..??? could it be because the canonical url has the ".com/" instead of just ".com" ???</dt> <dt>2- it also shows that the Total Keyword Usage for this Page = 33 , is this good or bad? too little or too much?</dt> <dt>3- Also when building backlinks should I include the ".com/" or ".com" ??</dt> <dt>Thank you in advance! </dt> </dl>
