Rich Snippets not appearing in Search Results
-
Hi Everyone,
Just a few questions on rich snippets please:
We have now integrated microdata (data-vocabulary.org) on all our product pages like http://www.homeshop18.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-310-tablet/computer-peripherals/ipads-tablets/product:30409470/cid:8937/ which I have tested on the rich snippets testing tool which Google provides and all is working fine and is rendering properly in the tool but it is not coming in search results in google.
Are we doing everything right or is there any issue in our implementation?
How long does it take usually for rich snippets to appear in google organic search results?

The cache date and crawl date need not necessarily be the same. This was pretty evident till late 2006 but after that Google changed this to great extent but still there are lot of technical limitations where it is not possible or rather I must say not feasible or unnecessary (Google also uses the, 'if modified since' status to know if a page has been updated or not) to update the cache date every time they crawl a page.
Here are two URLs that will give you more info in this regard:
1. http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/video-crawl-dates-in-the-google-cache/
2. http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.in/2006/09/better-details-about-when-googlebot.html
3. Most importantly: http://www.seroundtable.com/google-cache-update-12686.html
We see these cache date anomolies daily in our job and personally I have seen these for over a decade. Once you hit the main stream SEO where you start working for clients realtime, you will see these first hand.

Hi Rafi
I have never come across any cache where such a thing exist. Also it totally defeats the purpose of a date. If you can give a real example then it will be easier to understand.
Second, though Google does not guarantee to use markup, it is a warning. I have yet to come across a website which has proper content and also has markups which Google does not use in search results. This warning is in place for sites which Google system recognizes as spammy / stuffed / fishing sites etc.

Hi Nitin, thanks for stopping by and posting your reply. Just a word of caution regarding Google's cache date. Sometimes, even if the cache date shows an older date, Google might have already updated the changes done to the page recently and it would have included those changes in its index which can be seen in the search results.
Let us take an example:
some changes were made to abc.com/test.html on 7th of April and when we check the cache date on 9th of April, it still shows on older date prior to 7th when the changes were made to the page but, when we check the page in the search results of Google, the changes made would have been already updated and can be seen in the search results.

Hi there,
First things first, Google does not guarantee to use the mark up to display rich snippets in its search results for any website. The time taken to display rich snippets may vary from website to website depending on lot of factors and if you have trouble with Google not displaying the rich snippets for your website, you can check out the following URL:

Hope this helps.
Best regards,

The Rich Snippet tool is working fine but the Google crawler has not yet crawled the Page again. You can see the cached version of your page and it says they crawled it on Mar 24. So when Google does it again, it will be added.
You can resubmit your sitemap to Google to make it fast. But it still is not assured that Google will do it in one day or not.

How to get product info into Google Search Result box
Hi, in the last couple of weeks I get more and more search results with a product and prices of retailers below (see sample attached). Are there Schema parameters one could use to have a bigger chance to appear there? Thanks in advance Dieter Lang 0EYJtRJ

Why are these pages showing up as 404 in Search Console?
This page is showing up as a 404 in Google Search console- https://www.wolfautomation.com/blog/autonics/ It shows it has been linked from these pages- https://www.wolfautomation.com/blog/raffel/ https://www.wolfautomation.com/blog/new-temperature-controllers-from-autonics/ https://www.wolfautomation.com/blog/ge-industrial/ https://www.wolfautomation.com/blog/temp-controller/ https://www.wolfautomation.com/blog/tx4s/ I never created this page, I don't want this page but it keeps showing up. The problem is the link isn't found on those pages anywhere so I can't delete it. What am I missing? How can I get rid of it?

Google Search Console > Security Issues
Hi all, *Admin please feel free to remove or add this to any existing post. I have searched the community for any similar questions. While checking in the Google Search Console, under the "Security Issues" (lone section) I have found Google pointing out specific pages of our website where the message we are seeing is "Content injection - These pages appear to be modified by a hacker with the intent of spamming search results." The Learn More link takes us to https://developers.google.com/webmasters/hacked/docs/hacked_with_spam?ctx=SI&ctx=BHspam&rd=1 We've never injected spam code or have not been injected with any spammy code so what baffles me is why would Google pick this up when we have mentioned to them very clear that our code is secure and not hacked. Has anyone received a similar message and had any luck removing the message correctly? Thanks in advance!

Rubber Ball Ranking Results
We noticed a few weeks ago that rankings for the phrase
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Jayblue
Charity Collection Buckets
Were bouncing between this page
http://www.carefundraisingsupplies.co.uk/fundraising-products/Charity-Collection-Buckets
Rank 16
to this page
http://www.carefundraisingsupplies.co.uk/fundraising-products/fundraising-supplies
Rank 85
So we de-SEO'd the second page and added more content to the first page.
This seemed to lock Google onto the first page at 16, but it then started to slowly slide downwards. We have made a few more on page text tweaks, tried to reduce keywords density all to no avail. Even though overall this site has a better DA and MOZ profile than those ranked 1 and 2 for the phrase, we just cannot seem to get it moving in the right direction. We are just about to apply some quality links to see if that helps. But we are wondering if we are missing something at a technical level, like category structure, Canonicalisation, 301 redirects or something else. Any thoughts?0 -
My website (non-adult) is not appearing in Google search results when i have safe search settings on. How can i fix this?
Hi, I have this issue where my website does not appear in Google search results when i have the safe search settings on. If i turn the safe search settings off, my site appears no problem. I'm guessing Google is categorizing my website as adult, which it definitely is not. Has anyone had this issue before? Or does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Indexing falling/search queries the same - concerned
Hello, I posted abou this a few days ago but didn't really get anywhere and now have new information after looking into it more. This is my site - http://www.whosjack.org My page indexing has been falling steadily daily currently from thousands of pages indexed to just a couple of hundred. My search queries don't seem to be currently affected, I have done crawl tests to see if the site can be crawled and put the site:whosjack.org into Google and had 12,000 results come back when goole has said it has indexed 133 and falling. However all pages indexed on the site:whosjack.org search seem to be stories with just two words in the title? I am sure I am missing out on traffic here but can't work out what the issue is and how to fix it. I have no alerts on my dashboard and when I submit sitemaps to webmaster tools I get 15,115 URLs submitted 12,088 URLs indexedwhich cant be bad?Any help/suggestions really appreciated.

How would the rich snippets be treated in AJAX website?
Hi guys We have started to rewrite our website http://www.edamam.com on AJAX, and the idea is to have all the website on AJAX in the next few months. Although it would probably be difficult to index even with the Google Crawling protocol, and some other issues might appear, the engineers insist that from technology point of view this is the best way to go. We have already rewritten the internal search result pages, e.g. http://www.edamam.com/recipes/pasta and last week we set the Google Crawling protocol for AJAX to some of the individual recipe pages to test it. I'd like to ask for you opinion on whether the rich snippets we have in the search results will be affected by this change? Are there specific actions we need to take to preserve them? What other hot tips you have for dealing with AJAX on any level of the website? Thanks in advance Lily
