Hi mozzers,
I am wondering if sliding text SEO friendly such as this webpage:
http://www.questexchange.org/?s=faq
If it isn't is there a way to make it SEO Friendly?
Thank you!
-
Hi Taysir,
My apologies, I was giving an "In Example" I.E
-
OK--that's an accordion. You're good.
So long as you can see the text in the source code, you're usually in good shape.
-
Thank you Steven for your answer. What do you mean by I.E?
-
Hi Chris,
I meant if you click on one of the FAQ questions, you'll see an answer sliding.
-
Taysir, I'm not sure what you mean by sliding text--I don't see anything on that page that I would call sliding text. I see the drop down navigation, though and if that's what you're talking about it is seo friendly.
-
Scrolling text IS SEO friendly. It must be in the format of HTML and not projecting from a database to make it render the code. I.E not Dynamic.

Changing existing URL's to improve SEO
Here's a general question: At what PR/page rank (or Moz 'page authority') would you no longer change an existing URL that's cryptic to one that includes the related page keyword or at least relevant terms? Does using a 301 redirect to the new URL preserve the page rank? Thanks!

Implementation of Rich Text Snippets on a e-commerce site
Hey Guys I'm working on the implementation of Rich Text Snippets , I have basically 3 types of page Product Page Category Page Homepage On the product page I'm going to implement the product scheme which seem relatively straight forward , I'm struggling a bit understand what can be implement on the homepage & category page if anything For the Homepage I was planning to use the organisation scheme http://schema.org/Organization using the object thing my question is can you use the image tag to try and get google to display our brand logo ? just like the author & recipe etc.. we sell branded goods so on each ideally for branded page we provide brand description and brand logo http://brokenscene.com/uk/brands/famous-stars-and-straps.html can you use any snippets or is it best to focus on just the products ? Is content aggregation good SEO?
I didn't see this topic specifically addressed here: what's the current thinking on using content aggregation for SEO purposes? I'll use flavors.me as an example. Flavors.me lets you set up a domain that pulls in content from a variety of services (Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, RSS, etc.). There's also a limited ability to publish unique content as well. So let's say that we've got MyDomain.com set up, and most of the content is being drawn in from other services. So there's blog posts from WordPress.com, videos from YouTube, a photo gallery from Flickr, etc. How would Google look at this scenario? Is MyDomain.com simply scraped content from the other (more authoritative) sources? Is the aggregated content perceived to "belong" to MyDomain.com or not? And most importantly, if you're aggregating a lot of content related to Topic X, will this content aggregation help MyDomain.com rank for Topic X? Looking forward to the community's thoughts. Thanks!

How to SEO a website that is being help back by duplicate content?
We have over 20 websites that sell property. Each website is targeted to a different country. People advertise to sell their property. The websites are not getting to page 1 for the terms we want probably because of duplication issues. If we compare one website with another country website on www.duplicatecontent.net we find it is nearly 70% between one and the other. So we trying to understand why this is. If someone wanted to sell a property in Spain we would create an advert for them but rather than putting this on the back-end of the Spain website it goes on a separate website that does on all countries. We have tried to put nofollow tags so that the country specific website gets acknowledgement of being the original website but the rankings for key-terms will not rise and the duplication % remains nearly 70%. Can anyone suggest the best way forward?
