Rogerbot does not catch all existing 4XX Errors
-
Hi I experienced that Rogerbot after a new Crawl presents me new 4XX Errors, so why doesn't he tell me all at once?
I have a small static site and had 9 crawls ago 10 4XX Errors, so I tried to fix them all.
The next crawl Rogerbot fount still 5 Errors so I thought that I did not fix them all... but this happened now many times so that I checked before the latest crawl if I really fixed all the errors 101%.Today, although I really corrected 5 Errors, Rogerbot digs out 2 "new" Errors. So does Rogerbot not catch all the errors that have been on my site many weeks before?
Pls see the screenshot how I was chasing the errors

I understand,
I am not using a CMS and the site is not very big, so I wondered why Roberbot did not find all the 404 Error at the first time, because they have been there for many months.

Hey Holger,
Our crawler will catch as many errors as it can. It's possible that these errors were not present or just were not found at the time of the crawl.I'm running a crawl test to see if there's any discrepancy between your current campaign crawl and mine just to double-check.
In general, Kyle is correct that sometimes those errors just crop up, especially if you're using any sort of CMS.
I hope that helps. I'll update here after my crawl test is done.
Cheers,
Joel. -
Hi Holger,
4XX Errors can be quite common depending on your site setup so don't be surprised that Roger will keep returning errors for you to fix.
I would advise checking this data against GWT's own crawl error data which you can find in Webmaster Tools under Health>Crawl Errors.
I hope that helps,
K

How to Fix 404 Errors
Hey Moz'ers - I just added a new site to my Moz Pro account and when I got the crawl report back there was a ton of 404 errors (see attached). I realize the best way to fix these is to manually go through every single error and see what the issue is... I just don't have time right now, and I don't have a team member that can jump on this either, but realize this will be a huge boost to this client if/when I get these resolved... So my question is: Is there a quicker way to get these resolved? Is there an outsourcing company that can fix my clients errors correctly? Thanks for the help in advance:) wBhzEeV

I've got quite a few "Duplicate Page Title" Errors in my Crawl Diagnostics for my Wordpress Blog
Title says it all, is this an issue? The pages seem to be set up properly with Rel=Canonical so should i just ignore the duplicate page title erros in my Crawl Diagnostics dashboard? Thanks

Joined yesterday, today crawl errors (incorrectly) shows as zero...
Hi. We set up our SEOMoz account yesterday, and the initial crawl showed up a number of errors and warnings which we were in the process of looking at and resolving. I log into SEOMoz today and it's showing 0 errors, Pages Crawled: 0 | Limit: 10,000 Last Crawl Completed: Nov. 27th, 2012 Next Crawl Starts: Dec. 4th, 2012errors, warnings and notices show as 0, and the issues found yesterday show only in the change indicators. There's no way of getting to the results seen yesterday other than waiting a week?We were hoping to continue working through the found issues!

Or is this some script that running on my server and causing errors? In general - what should I do to fix this? Thanks Dean

Does anyone know of a crawler similar to SEOmoz's RogerBot?
As you probably know SEOmoz had some hosting and server issues recently, and this came at a terrible time for me... We are in the middle of battling some duplicate content and crawl errors and need to get a fresh crawl of some sites to test things out before we are hit with the big one? Before I get a million thumbs downs- I love and will continue to use SEOmoz, just need something to get me through this week ( or until Roger is back! )!

Company Name in Page Title creating thousands of "Duplicate Page Title" errors
I am new, and I just got back my crawl results (after a week or more). The first thing I noticed is that the "duplicate page title" is in the thousands, my urls and page titles are different. The only thing I can see is that our company name is at appended to the name of every title. I did search and found one other person with this problem, but no answer was given. Can anyone offer some advice? This doesn't seem right... Thanks,
