Some posts not showing on Google search if I seach them using post title?
-
Hello!
Some of my WordPress blog posts aren't showing on the Google search result, even if I type the post title. What could be the issue? Is it my site text selection disabled issue or WordPress SEO by Yoast plug-in issue or something else?
Moreover, if I search some of my post text (article content), I can't see relevant post on Google search.
I use following code to protect my articles. Is it SEO friendly?
.content {
-webkit-user-select: none;
-khtml-user-select: none;
-moz-user-select: none;
-ms-user-select: none;
user-select: none;
}my site:- http://goo.gl/tD2fS
Thanks!

Again thank you so much Dr. Peter for that explanation. It's really worth.
Yes, I can understand what you said. I have combined thespicygadgematics.com, to AandroidGadgematic, because I don't have enough time to update two blogs. That's why I do it. There's no any penalty for the TSG blog.
-
I just see a lot of stuff that's of questionable quality, such as:
http://www.squidoo.com/how-to-turn-power-off-usb-port-on-windows-computers
http://www.hathmaluwa.org/ (multiple links)
http://shetoldme.com/Technology/Google-puts-stop-to-accidental-porn
No single link would be enough to put you in penalty territory, but the profile as a whole looks weak to me, honestly, and once I see a pattern of quality problems, I start to worry.
You also seem to have a redirect in play from www.thespicygadgematics.com/ - any link issues to that site could be effecting this site as well.
-
Yes, Dr. Peter. There's no issue on the home page.
>>>I do see certain exact-match phrases bringing up tons of your pages, but not the actual posts, such as:
I face this issue on certain posts. Some posts are ranking well.
>>>>>Your link profile definitely looks a bit questionable, at first glance. I'm seeing some pretty low-quality stuff, enough that it could be causing you problems.
Most of my blog links are built by myself. All of them are manually created. Could you please give me any clue about this questionable link? You mean some of the social bookmarking sites?
-
I'm seeing your home-page ranking by name, so I don't think "android" in the domain is the culprit here. Whether that's a good idea long-term is a different issue, and depends entirely on Google.
I do see certain exact-match phrases bringing up tons of your pages, but not the actual posts, such as:
"Sony Xperia Ion LT28i Android 4.1.2"
This could indicate a technical problem, or it could be a link-based devaluation or penalty. Your link profile definitely looks a bit questionable, at first glance. I'm seeing some pretty low-quality stuff, enough that it could be causing you problems.
I can't find the exact-match title itself on your domain, but I find dozens of pages referencing the title in internal links. This has the feel of a penalty, but it's oddly specific.
I'm also seeing a ton of low-value pages indexed, like all of the "Index of..." pages. Run this query in Google, for example:
site:androidgadgematic.com intitle:"Index of"
Unfortunately, I'm not sure there's anyone one smoking gun, so much as a collection of small problems, and that can be a tough situation.
-
It's hard to tell why it's outranking you for your own titles. They could be trying to 302 hijack you - which is a problem. Or it could be helpful because people find your content.
I would start by learning more about "302 hijacking" and seeing what you may be able to do against it.
-
Godad, there is really no way to keep others from stealing your content via copy/paste. You can prevent right-click, but that is easily circumvented. Setting a canonical will, however, signal the SEs (Google, Bing and Yahoo all observe canonicals) that your version is the original. which affords some protection, at least in terms of attribution. Dealing with such copy theft is just an unfortunate issue we have to face. Google, at least, is pretty good about being able to determine the original version. As far as copied versions being able to outrank your original page, there can be many other factors in play, beyond the copy itself.
-
Matt, that site doesn't copy pate my content, they only use shows my blog URL. If anyone click that site URL, it redirect to my site relevant post. So it will be serious issue?
-
Yes, that site seems to be taking your content and ranking higher than you for it.

Thank you Sheldon your reply and the link.

Thank Francisco Meza!
Oh my god, I use to to take the advantage of the keyword in SEO. I already used "Android is a trademark of Google Inc." sentence at the bottom of the page. As a result of that, it will not illegal activity. Am I correct? Because I saw that Android Branding guideline page shows "Any use of the Android name needs to include this attribution".
Thanks!
-
Thanks Matt your reply. It's not belong to me. I think it's an RSS aggregator or something similar site. RSS aggregator affect my rank? After few days left, hathmaluwa posts rank lost. That site rank well for a few days.
-
I have to agree with Francisco... mentioning Android in your copy or even a title, is generally accepted practice (although technically, it must be followed by the symbol the first time it appears on the page). You can see more on this here: http://developer.android.com/distribute/googleplay/promote/brand.html

A search for "install android 4.2.2 jelly bean sony xperia S paranoid android rom" shows this:
http://www.androidgadgematic.com/2013/04/install-android-4-2-2-jelly-bean-xperia-s-paranoid-rom.html
So that one's working.
Your Facebook post shows up as:
www.hathmaluwa.org/view-post?pid=25193
What is hathmaluwa? Is that one of your sites? It seems to be redirecting automatically to androidgadgematic.com on that article. It appears to outrank you for your articles sometimes, which could create duplicate content and thus kick you out of the search results. Canonical may help. It's a place to start.
-
You are using a trademarked name in your Domain. Here in USA, it's illegal to use a Trademarked name without permission from the company.
It's like saying appleiphoneme.com
-
Protect articles mean, stop copy paste my blog post. I think adding canonical links will not help. Yes, I agree with adding internal links, will point back to my site. It will not cause duplicate content issues? I mean if someone copy and published my article on his/here site and link back to my site cause duplicate content issue? Some smart scrappers remove them.
I don't think, if I use Android, as a part of the blog title, it will affect the rankings. There are lots of blogs which use Android as a part of site title but they rank well.
-
Why would you want to "protect" your articles? Why not rel="canonical" them? If you fear getting scraped, put links in the content pointing back to your site.
Yoast has a great plugin so that's not the issue.
Here is one of the main reasons you will NEVER rank. Your domain is using a GOOGLE trademark. http://www.androidgadgematic.com/

Google not indexing /showing my site in search results...
Hi there, I know there are answers all over the web to this type of question (and in Webmaster tools) however, I think I have a specific problem that I can't really find an answer to online. site is: www.lizlinkleter.com Firstly, the site has been live for over 2 weeks... I have done everything from adding analytics, to submitting a sitemap, to adding to webmaster tools, to fetching each individual page as googlebot and then submitting to index via webmaster tools. I've checked my robot files and code elsewhere on the site and the site is not blocking search engines (as far as I can see) There are no security issues in webmaster tools or MOZ. Google says it has indexed 31 pages in the 'Index Status' section, but on the site dashboard it says only 2 URLS are indexed. When I do a site:www.lizlinketer.com search the only results I get are pages that are excluded in the robots file: /xmlrpc.php & /admin-ajax.php. Now, here's where I think the issue stems from - I developed the site myself for my wife and I am new to doing this, so I developed it on the live URL (I now know this was silly) - I did block the content from search engines and have the site passworded, but I think Google must have crawled the site before I did this - the issue with this was that I had pulled in the Wordpress theme's dummy content to make the site easier to build - so lots of nasty dupe content. The site took me a couple of months to construct (working on it on and off) and I eventually pushed it live and submitted to Analytics and webmaster tools (obviously it was all original content at this stage)... But this is where I made another mistake - I submitted an old site map that had quite a few old dummy content URLs in there... I corrected this almost immediately, but it probably did not look good to Google... My guess is that Google is punishing me for having the dummy content on the site when it first went live - fair enough - I was stupid - but how can I get it to index the real site?! My question is, with no tech issues to clear up (I can't resubmit site through webmaster tools) how can I get Google to take notice of the site and have it show up in search results? Your help would be massively appreciated! Regards, Fraser

Can You Use More Then One Google Local Rich Snippet on a single site/ on a single page.
I am currently working on a website for a business that has multiple office locations. As I am trying to target all four locations I was wondering if it is okay to have more then one Local Rich Snippet on a single page. (For example they list all four locations and addresses within their footer and I was wondering if I could make these local rich snippets). What about having more then one on a single website. For example if a company has multiple offices located in several different cities and have set up individual contact pages for these cities, can each page have it's own Local Rich Snippet? Will Google look at these multiple "local rich snippets" as spaming or will they recognize the multiple locations and count it towards their local seo?

Some competitors have a thumbnail in Google search results
I've noticed that a few of my top competitors have a small photo (thumbnail) next to their listing. I'm sure it's not a coincidence that they are ranked top for the search phrase too. Is this really a help and how can it be done? Many thanks, Iain.

When should we use Remove URLs feature on Google Webmasters Tool?
Hi there, I run an ecommerce website on Magento. We are no longer using a category. It actually does not appear on the menu: mydomain.com/category.html If this is the case, do you recommend to remove it through the Removal URL feature on GWT? I don't want this to affect the juice of other links of the site such as: mydomain.com/product.html Thanks very much. Regards

Titles in google serps incorrect
If you do the following query in google: site:orlandovisiting.com legend sparrow You'll see in the results the title appears as: legend-captain-jack-sparrow-1149.html Where the title tag in the source is: <title>The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow Opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studiostitle> Eventually it normally rights itself, but does anyone else get this with their sites? Thanks.

Duplicate Content for our Advertising Sites Showing in Search Results
Hello, My company has a couple different sites (Magento Stores) for Organic, Adwords and AdCenter purposes.They are mirror sites of each except for phone number, contact form, ect. Here is our organic site: http://www.oxygenconcnetratorstore.com/ Adwords and Adcenter site respectively: http://www.oxygenconcnetratorstore.com/portable/
Technical SEO | | chuck-layton
http://www.oxygenconcnetratorstore.com/oxygen/ The problem is, both the Adwords and AdCenter stores appear in Google SERP when you put in the exact URL. I have "noindex/nofollow" tag on both the advertising sites but they are still showing in search results. I feel we are getting hurt for basically have 3 sites of duplicate content. Is there a reason why the sites would be showing in search results even with the nofollow/index tags?? Any help would be awesome. Thanks. seomoz.jpg0 -

Hi, I have on-page optimised a client's website Now take a look at the Title Tag & Meta description of the front page. This is the correct updates I have made - Title: Practice Management and Financial Consultants to the Health Industry
Technical SEO | | LukeyJamo
Description: Award winning Health and Life have been providing accounting, tax and practice management services for Medical, Dental, Allied Health businesses. Now, take a look when the business name is Googled. Notice how the Title Tag switches back to the original, yet the Description Tag is Correct. Now, take a look when the owner's name is Googled. The Title Tag is now correct, but the description is incorrect. Ive set the preferred URL to be the www version Ive spent ages in the custom CMS trying to find what could be causing this The developer says it's a "Google Thing" Anyone have any ideas?0 -
"Site Suspended" in Google Adwords + Lost all rankings in Google => is this related?
Can anyone share thoughts on this: Does the S recently (mid april) we revamped our website (same content, new layout, strong brand), but a few days later our google rep contacted us to tell that she got a "red flag" for one of our SEA campaigns (we broke the bridge page policy, not on purpose to be clear), they were completely correct on this matter. We even got some extra time to correct this, normal policy is only 10 days. But, we were a little slow, so all our Adwords Campaigns are suspended and we get the message "Site suspended". We are working to have this fixed, our Google rep even granted some more time to fix this. Now, almost simultaneously, same time frame, all our new pages, that were already ranking well tx to proper 301 rules, suddenly fell out of the google SERPS, nothing to be found anymore up till now. Our website is live since 1996, no issues, up till now. There seems to be a strong correlation to what happened in our SEA and what happened in our SEO can anyone share some info?
