Will this Blog Tool hurt our SEO
-
Hi,
We have come across this tool that we are considering using for some of our blog posts. We will still continue posting our own post blogs weekly, we will just use this if we come across anything interesting. Our concern is it will produce duplicate content from other sites. We are very new to blogging.
Will this hurt our SEO? Will it improve it? Or will it make no difference?
All thoughts welcomed please.
Thanks
Andrew

I had a friend who used this tool and said it did not help them in any way and found it a complete waste of their time. The advertising patter sounds great but the performance does not match up with the marketing

Andrew,
No it's not going to hurt your site. It's not likely that it will help you in search results, either, regardless of what their sales pitch is.
The thing about curation that's worth a danm (i.e., so targeted to your audience and so relevant to your product and so informative and so worth people's while as to get them to return to your site regularly for it because they can't get such an informative, satisfying mix of content elsewhere) is that it's hard work, too.
To make it anything close to worthwhile, you'll need to detail (at least a paragraph) your own take on each of the articles or snippets that bring to your site so that visitors understand why it's so important to you that you have it there. At some point down the road, you or your visitors are just going to see a bunch of semi-related articles that don't add much, if anything, to their experience at your site, and the question will be asked, "Why is this being done?".

Do branded footer links hurt me?
I run a small seo company. We work uber white hat. We are small with only 4 of us but we have a good client base with great results. My question is related to my own websites because they are the only sites in which I practice this technique. I just watched the white board Friday about good vs bad link building. In the bad link building it mentioned never to externally link in the footer. Is this an all around statement? For instance, every new site we make we always put links in the footer of our clients. Usually says something like "Developed by Stodzy Internet marketing Almost all the web design companies I work with do the same thing. Is this going to help me or hurt me?

Should I dicard them in my SEO estrategy?
Hi there! Some of you guys told me that I shouldn't concede too much priority to the directories in my linkbuilding stratregy. But should I incorpore it (In case it has a little impact in SERPs) or directly discard it as it has NO influence at all, what would it be more important quantity or quality? Could it have more impact a directory with PR 7 as 100 directories of PR 3 or below? Thanks

Why Post Useless Blog Comments
I notice that I'm getting a lot of spammy blog comments on a personal interest site. Why would someone go to all that trouble to get a nofollow link that will most likely not be approved?
