Website/blog list to get quality backlinks?

Hi
Everyone says quality backlinks increase ranking of your website. Can you please suggest a list of good websites and blogs from where I can get quality backlinks and how to do that. I have one person at my disposal full time to do manual commenting or any manual tasks for getting backlinks but how should i approach this problem (of getting backlinks). Where do I start.
For information, my website provides online services (its an ecommerce site) and also has a blog in subdirectory. refer to
Would like to become top ranker on search for these services (eg 'logo design services', 'website programming', 'content writing', 'hire virtual assistant' etc)

The short answer is yes, it will help your whole site.
As for the long answer:
Every page that is included in the structure of your website, has internal links pointing to it, or has external links pointing at it will have some amount of authority/page rank. Of that authority, a page is able to pass 85+% of it's total authority on to other pages. So, if you have 10 links on that page it will pass around 8.5% of its total authority on to other pages.
So, let's say you have a blog post about the "50 Best Logos Ever." From there you would want to link back to your logo service to try drive authority back to those pages. That way if your post gets links you will be able to drive more authority back to your pages that make you money.

One place to start would be to run an analysis of your competitors, see where they've earned links from & how. Then see where you can add value by creating content and linkable assets.

Since my basic objective is selling my services (eCommerce) and I also have a blog in sub-directory which is wordpress based, does promoting articles on my sub-directory blog add link authority of my main website and finally will it drive more traffic to my main site?

Unfortunately, quality back links aren't going to come from a list. The best kind are naturally earned with great content, but you can supplement this process with a great guest blogging process. To do this you will want to find blogs in your niche, which would be anything about advertising really, and build a relationship with them so that they will accept your guest blog posts. There's awesome resources out there for best initial emails to start this process, but I don't have any saved off hand.
The ideal option is actually getting links naturally. To do this you will want to great engaging content that gets people to link to you. This may be a list of the best 50 logos ever, or 10 reasons why you need a virtual assistant. Anything that will get people to read it, comment, and then blog about it.

I have some excellent quality backlinks (telegraph,dailyexpress...) and moz doesn't add them 2 month after?
Hello the MOZ community, My question is simple. I read on the forum that if moz doesn't add your backlinks after quite a while, it's because they are poor value. What are the SEO implications of high quality backlinks from US-based websites to UK-based websites?
Hi everyone, quick question I hope someone could help me with: We're representing a client based in the UK. As part of their overall strategy we've been linkbuilding. At the moment, about 80/90% of the links we've gained come from UK-based sites, with 10/20% coming from US-based websites. The US based websites are very good (think New York Times and genuine, relevant blogs with good readerships). An external search analyst/consultant has contacted the client to say that the US links will be harming the site, because the links are from websites in the US and not the UK. We believe that if 80/90% of the links were from the US this could indeed cause harm as it could indicate to search engines that our client is in the US when it's not (which might compromise their chance of ranking in .co.uk versions of search engines) however because it's only 10/20%, and because the linking sites are very good, we believe that they will getting all of the benefits of the positive metrics without any meaningful negatives. We just wanted to get a few opinions on this to see if people think that we're mistaken, and would be glad to hear any opinions contrary to our own.

Best Name for Business and Backlinks / SEO
Sorry if this is a basic question I should know the answer for. We have just acquired the .org for a moderately well searched keyword set. Our objective is to fight for rank specifically on this one set of two keywords. We want make sure our site is setup and business named optimally for this. Here is my question. What is the best business name for SEO and keyword rich backlinks, or anything else I'm not thinking of? KEYWORDS: Blue Widget DOMAIN: BlueWidget.org BUSINESS NAME OPTIONS: A) simply BlueWidget.org. We like this but do we lose some benefit of "Blue Widget" with a space on backlinks? **B) Blue Widget Foundation. Is this better because people will reference us by the keywords with a space "The Blue Widget Foundation", instead of "from the people at BLUEWIDGET.org"? ** Am I missing anything important here in the name? Best five links to get first for a new website
I wondered if people had a list of the top five or ten links you should build for a new website in order to add some sense of authority. For example should a new website start with key social media websites such as Twitter, Google+ and Linkedin ? Or top level directories such as BOTW and DMOZ? Should they local for niche website directories in their location or vertical? If you had to choose five links - free or paid which would they be?
