Why am I not getting my allowance of 10,000 inbound links in csv download file? 370 out of 4700??

Hi,
I'm desparately trying to audit my backlinks to remove a penguin penalty on my site livefit.co.uk
When I do the inbound link report i'm not getting all the links in the download. I know there is a limit of 25 links from each linking site so we get the full picture of links bu:

I have 4700 links so why does it need to limit it when we are supposed to see up to 10,000?

When you check the link profile on the report it doesn't seem there are many sites with anything close to 25, so surely that rule is invalid as an explanation here?
Should I just work off OSE? But there is less useful info than on the csv..
I'd be very grateful for your thoughts.

The rule of thumb is to try and keep below 100 links per page as well as trying to limit the amount of site wide links.
Check out the crawl section in the pro campaign - they have a warning if you have to many on-page links. That would be a great starting place to check.

Thanks Kyle. I was already looking at the root domain. But your response triggered me to check external vs. internal and I found that the 370 links in the csv were my external AND the other 4300 were internal... is having that many internal links ok? The site has 92 indexed pages according to GWMT..

This has happened to me in the past, make sure when you are setting your filter you have everything set correctly to get your full link profile. Make sure you have the inbound links tab selected and your filter is set like this:
Show "all" links from "only external" pages to "pages on this root domain" and "show links ungrouped".
The biggest issue is making sure you have it set to root domain, if not you will only be pulling the backlink profile to your homepage. Let me know if that did the trick, if not i would submit a help ticket to help@semoz.org. They are normally really responsive!

OK Crawl Test Link Question Again!
I've downloaded a crawl test and column G Link Count reads 62 and yep there are a total of 62 links on the page in question. Column AM Internal Links reads 303 and yep there are somewhere in the order of 303 pages pointing at this one. Root Domains is surprisingly low at 6, so maybe there are only 6 domains linking to this page. BUT... External Links read 51. There are not 51 links pointing away from this domain on this page, no way hozay, so can anybody tell me what is meant by 'External Links? A humble thank you in anticipation of an education. Jem

Link Diagnosis and Open Site Explorer
I work at a web design firm that's starting to offer SEO to its clients. They want to keep costs down until the SEO side becomes more established, so I've been using mostly free tools to do the SEO. I've been using a website called LinkDiagnosis.com to check backlinks for clients. It says the data is provided by SEOmoz, so I thought it must be pretty reliable. However, I just signed up for the PRO trial to test out all of SEOmoz's tools (& hopefully convince my company to sign us up), and I find that the link information between the 2 tools can be vastly different! Sometimes the number of unique linking domains is very close, but other times it can be off by hundreds, even thousands, with Open Site Explorer typically providing the higher numbers. Is the Link Diagnosis tool really powered with data from SEOmoz, or does it just receive a portion of the data, since it's a free tool? I'm just trying to figure out what will be the most reliable solution for me to keep using, and the discrepancies between the two tools has caused me to question the reliability of both. What are no followed links?
Hi there, probably this is so self explaining that I didn't find it described in the tutorial about learning to use PRO or here in Q&Α. But remember, there is no dumb question 🙂 What are the followed vs no followed links? I understand followed links as backlinks to my site, but what is a no followed link? Thank you in advance!

OSE Update: No direct .csv Export
Playing around w/ OSE post update. Love that there are social signals. Having issues with exporting to .csv via email. What's the reasoning behind this change? Anyone have any solutions for circumventing (i.e. downloading data directly to excel via API)?

Relevancy In Link Building
Hi, I'd like to build links to my websites from other relevant sites that are about similar topics. To do that in the best way, I am looking for a tool that generates keywords for a specific site or a page. This tool should basically analyze the website and understand what topics is it about. Then I can compare my website and the website I am looking to do link building in and see if the relevance is high. I remember SEOMOZ had a similar tool. Does anyone knows the link to that tool or other tools that can help me do the task I am looking to do?
