Do you still need 1,000 followers for rel=publisher
-
If I want to add rel=publisher from my Google + page to company website do I still need 1,000 followers or has Google lifted that requirement since launching the feature?
-
Hi Sara,
Google+ required 1,000 followers in order for your Google+ page to be verified, however this did not mean you need to have 1,000 followers in order to add rel="publisher" code to your homepage - that can be done regardless of follower count.
You can see this in AJ Kohn's article on proper rel publisher setup: http://www.blindfiveyearold.com/google-plus-seo
If you go to the Google+ Page Verification page at Google, you'll now see that the requirement has been changed to state "Your Google+ page must already have a meaningful number of followers." Obviously this is open to interpretation, but based upon that language change, I believe you'll probably be OK with a few hundred followers as opposed to 1,000.

Should you have both google authorship & publisher set up on a website?
I have read that its a good idea to have both rel=author & rel= publisher set up on a website If so What is the best way to set it up to where rel=author and rel=publisher appear in your website source code? I use wordpress genesis site and have the Yoast seo plugin **In the user profile section on WP there is an area to enter google Authorship link **In the Yoast dashboard there is a place to enter google publisher link. When I check my source code…….I see rel=publisher only on the home page, however ALL my other WordPress Pages and Posts have rel=author. Does that sound correct?

Is it wise for employees to be tied to a company's content with rel=author?
We're an e-commerce company that sells consumer goods. We are launching a blog that will have advice, tips, etc. on topics related to our industry. I'd like for us to implement rel=author on the content. If we rel=author the content to an employee, what are the possible repercussions if that employee leaves the company? I know the markup is pretty new and hasn't been widely implemented, but has anyone dealt with this?

Ghostwriting, blogging, and rel=author
Do you think it's unethical to use ghostwriting on a company's blog? Specifically, I mean hiring a writer to create content for the blog, and then publishing the content under, say, the CEO's name and using rel=author to tie it to the CEO's social identity. Does that undermine the whole idea of AuthorRank? Is it gaming the system?

Does a 301 redirect pass along Google +1's from the old url to the new one?
When I 301 redirect a page that has content that has been +1'ed by our visitors, I would assume that Google would handle a +1 the same as a link and pass this authority along to the new url. Has anyone had any experience or heard directly from Google confirming this behavior?
