Does SEOmoz account for keyword variations?
-
If I want to know my rank for bank account, do I need to list bank accounts as well or will my ranking include variations?
Also, if I use the word bank as a keyword, will any search that contains the word bank (even when other words are included) count towards the ranking for that word? Or would I need to add additional keywords like dallas bank, local bank, etc?

Hi MacKensey,
If I want to know my rank for bank account, do I need to list bank accounts as well or will my ranking include variations?
They are exact so the term "bank accounts" and "bank account" are separate. SEOmoz is reflecting the data they find on the SERP when you run the report.
Also, if I use the word bank as a keyword, will any search that contains the word bank (even when other words are included) count towards the ranking for that word? Or would I need to add additional keywords like dallas bank, local bank, etc?
No it will only contain the term you include.

How many keywords per web page?
Hi, what is the technique for ranking for keywords? Can you optimise a web page for more than one keyword? My moz report is telling me that a keyword I want to rank for is not in the page title, as it stands my page title has one keyword phrase. Sorry for such a newbie question, my understanding is you home page carries the most weight, so you would place your most wanted keywords there? The big question is, how many keywords per page? David.

Where do I go from here with my keyword research?
Hi all. I'm wondering if I can get some assistance on keyword research. I've set out a step-by-step process for myself about how to go about finding a list of keywords we want to optimise our site for. I've used a guide over at http://www.seonick.net/keyword-research to break it down step-by-step. After using Keyword Tool and Ubersuggest to get a list of keyword suggestions with their local monthly search volumes, I now have an Excel file with 1663 suggestions (yikes!). It is at this point where I am not 100% sure of what to do with this data & how to figure out which of these terms we should optimise for. I know not to go purely based on the local monthly search volume because that is not based on organic searches. So how would I go about condensing this into a list of keyword suggestions to target for optimising? Thanks in advance for assistance on this.

SeoMoz Keyword Tool
Hello All, Ive been using the SeoMoz Keyword tool but have a quick question. Im working on a newer site with a DA according to OSE of 35. Im combing through keywords to rank. Although competition is very high I have found a few holes. According to the Keyword tool in SeoMoz a few keywords Im looking at are roughly 50%. Would it be to difficult to rank for this type of term? Ive been using a combination of Google Trends, Adwords keyword tool, and ubersuggest, to try and see whats available. Does anyone use different tools? Thank you

Trying to avoid Keyword Cannibalization
I have a navigation menu at the top of my page with drop down menus that lead to different pages of my web site. Very typical navigation. If I have a page that is optimized for a particular keyword, lets say "Awesome Blue Widgets", do I want to remove that link from the navigation menu on the page awesome-blue-widgets.htm since the link uses the keyword phrase "Awesome Blue Widgets'?
