Different question for differnt purposes

Hi there! I have three questions
-
I have used a wordpress plugin called WPML which translates a webpage into another language so that I have a webpage in two different languages (spanish (main market) and english). I'm just doing the seo for the spanish market and I'm gonna start with the seo for the english one. Should I do it just the same as I had a one-single-language page? just with english keywords, etc. I guessit would only differ in the way I do the linkbuilding strategy as the markets are diffent

Should the pages I don't want to optimize with a specific keyword have its own title and description?. I only want them to get indexed by the the bot but not get found by a keyword in particular so that the their content is not very relevant.

If my wordpress site "breaks down" and I just have to reinstall the entire site again. What kind of impact has in my SEO? I guess that if the crawler notices that my site is down it will have it into account (negatively) but ....what about the link-juice of my pages, etcc...? What collateral efects has a crash in my site.
Thans in advanced.

Answered in order, Juan Miguel:
1. Recommend you ask this as a separate question with an appropriate title so the folks with lots of multilanguage site experience can spot it more easily and give advice.
2. Why would you want them to get indexed but not be findable for any keyword? If they're truly not relevant to the user, you should add a meta-robots no-index, follow tag to the header of the page. This can be done by clicking a checkbox in most SEO plugins.
This tells the search engines that the page shouldn't be indexed as it's no real use to a user, and also tells the crawler to keep following the links so it doesn't get "stuck" and stop indexing further pages.
3. You need to make sure that your web server is set up so that if your website completely breaks down, a visitor (or a search bot) will be delivered a "503 Temporarily Unavailable" error. This code tells the search engine to just come back later and not to penalize the site because it can't be crawled at that moment. You'll likely need to check with your web host how to do this.
In order to make certain that even a broken site is only down for a very short amount of time, it's essential to have a COMPLETE backup of your entire WordPress installation This includes not just the database, but all the associated folders, files, images etc. This is especially critical if it's a commercial website as every hour of downtime costs money.
With this, instead of having to go through the VERY long, process of reinstalling everything, you can just delete the broken site and recopy all the files from your backup. I've used and tested the free Backup to Dropbox plugin for this, but there are several other good ones out there too. Your web host should also be doing backups, but it's never a good idea to rely on them for this. You need your own.
Hope that helps?

Keyword ranking for different page than the page optimized
I have optimized "equipment trailer for rent" on this page: http://www.bigtrailerrentals.com/flatbed-trailer-rentals/equipment-deckover. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me why Google has chosen to rank the keyword phrase for this page: http://www.bigtrailerrentals.com/flatbed-trailer-rentals/equipment-24 This is just one example. It has happened on several of my pages / keywords.

Can you canonical from one domain page to a different domain page
We are a boating site and have our main site with all it's products. We have an engine section within our main site. But we also have an outside domain, specific to a certain manufacturer of engines. So we want our customers to still find the engine information for this manufacturer within our main site, as well as find the manufacturer targeted engine site in the SERPS. My question is this: Can I canonical those pages within our main site to pages on the outside domain? Or does are canonicals to be used only within the same domain? Thanks,

Author snippet image in results, question!
Hi, Quick question really, I can see how a Google+ profile picture showing up in the results can increase CTR and even trust but would this be a no no for a normal website? I mean if you had a website which offered personal training, so a brand rather than an individual would you not use this snippet? I've seen some website, even ecommerce sites using this tag to just increase their CTR.

A question on cached pages
Hi all. I have been testing different ways of writing the text on the homepage of the website www document-management-solutions co.uk because we are ranking very low for the keyword Document Management Software. I've recently learnt about pages being 'cached' and wanted to just clarify something. The last time the page was cached was on 26th March. I have made changed to the homepage since then and wanted to see how it has affected our ranking. Will I not be able to know if it has had a positive/negative effect until the next time our page is cached? Thanks

Meta Description Question
Hi, Lets say you have a 1000 pages, is it ok to generate a template meta description and flip the keywords depending on the page? For example: Red Shoes page: Buy Red Shoes at amazing prices. We have a large range of Red Shoe sizes available. Blue Shoes page: Buy Blue Shoes at amazing prices. We have a large range of Blue Shoe sizes available. Thoughts?

Questions About My Report
Hi, I have a website that aggregates NFL analysis (not news). I write 3-5 line summaries about each article I link, so there is a pretty good amount of daily content. Here's the site: http://www.profootballhotreads.com/ After I received my initial report, there were several issues, and I just wanted to get some thoughts on them. Some of these might be related to the aggregate nature, some might be not a concern, but I want to know which ones I should really worry about. Too many links. My main page is a continuously running scroll of links, so obviously this is going to be tough to accommodate. I know this makes each link less "valuable," but does it actually affect my site in any way? I don't really have links to my site on the page other than in the menu, which I assume would be scrolled first. meta description on tag pages. For site design reasons, I have several "pages" that are actually tag collection pages rather than unique pages. For example, each team's page is simply a collection of anything tagged with that team. So, I don't know if I can provide a meta description for those pages without making that the default meta description for any post with that tag. I supposedly have tons of duplicate pages but when I go to those pages, I don't see it. Webmasters said I only had one duplicate. Not sure what's going on. I'm thinking anytime I update a post, it is reading it as two different posts even though only one post exists at a time on the site. I have tons of duplicate page titles. Basically, I have tons of pages on my main page because after a certain amount of posts, it goes to a "new" page, even though it's just a continuation. So, I have Main page 1, Main Page 2, etc with the same title and meta descriptions. I don't think this is a concern, is it? Thanks for anyone who might be able to help. Let me know if there are more questions. Jason
