10 Mobile Pages. 5 Desktop Pages. Canonnical to where?
-
I have a mobile site with more pages than the desktop site.
Normally I would just point the page equivalents to the desktop site using the rel canonnical tag.
What about the 5 pages? Do I just leave them be?
Thanks

Yes, thank you adam. I wrote this up in my own wiki after research:
rel="cannonical" tags should be applied to all mobile pages where a corresponding desktop page exists.
At the same time, to pass any SEO rank to mobile sites (for mobile Google users) the desktop site should have a rel="alternate" taghttp://m.example.com/" >There are two reasons to apply these tags:
- avoid duplicate content issues
- ensure SEO rank is the same for both mobile/desktop equivalent pages
So if you have mobile pages that don't match up to any desktop pages, then the above codes do not apply, as there is no duplicate content issue, and no SEO rank to be shared. Thus these pages will have to rank on their own. Thanks

Are those 5 pages extra content, that do not appear on the desktop site? If so rel canonnical is used to advise of duplicate content and how it should be treated. If they aren't duplicate you dont need to use rel..

Product page reviews issues
Hi, We've implemented pagination on the reviews with rel=next/prev, but have seen no improvements since this. An example page with reviews is here. Can you see any issues on this that would be causing the problem? Thanks!

Page Analysis - Helping Product Pages Outrank Search Results Pages
Hi! We have a lot of our search results pages that have been indexed and outrank our product pages and in some instance the actual product pages barely show up at all. Here is an example query that includes our brand name: http://goo.gl/cgB6W So, we have loads of actual product pages, video pages, etc that should be showing up here, but are not and this is just one example. Unfortunately, there are a LOT of these Search Results pages out there and utlimately we would love to de-index them altogether, but it's going to have to be carefully done. So, was wondering if anyone would want to check out one of our product pages and give any feedback as to what we could change to possibly improve rank or to make them more search friendly or hopefully to help them rise above these indexed search results pages? Here is an example product page: http://goo.gl/2R4IT Thanks!! Craig

Deleted pages still registering as 404 pages.
I have a an all html site that I can only work on through the ftp. The previous marketing company ran a script that built thousands of location landing pages, but all they did was change the tags and headers and the keywords in the pages, other than that they are all duplicate pages. I removed them, but Google is reading them as 404 pages. How do I tell Google those pages don't exist? or do I just need to let the bots crawl it a few times and it will see that eventually?

Is it possible to hide some of the on page results?
I have set up on page reports for keywords against specific pages... but I have a whole other bunch of reports which are automatically run by the system (many of them not really relevant at the moment in time) so, I'm wondering if there's a way to filter out just my own reports? This way I can focus on improving my target pages, rather than having to find them in amongst all the sys gen reports. Apologies if this is a rather obtuse questions.... newbie user. Thanks in advance. Khaled

Why is On-Page showing canonical wrong?
I'm trying to use the On-Page report card and it's saying that my rel=canonical is wrong, I've looked and I can't see anything wrong with it, am I missing something? The url is www.harrisonlighting.co.uk/childrens-lights.html
