Crawl test from tools
-
Hi,
I notice that the crawl test which is from the Research Tools doesn't really get a new crawl even though there is 2 crawl per day. It will only provide the data which was acquire from the crawl diagnostics in my pro account. There is no point for me to get the data which I get from my crawl diagnostic isn't it? Even seomoz provided with more than 2 crawl per day also useless in this case.
This whole thing doesn't make sense as the crawl diagnostics will only perform a full crawl test once every week. but even the crawl test also not helping any thing out for me.

Everyone, thanks for helping... Greatly appreciated.

Hi there Hanzo,
Thanks for reaching out! it looks like you are having some trouble with the crawl test. Keri is correct that our crawl test uses "Cached" information to construct your crawl, which can take up to 2 days to clear. While I am not sure why the sites are still reporting 404s, there's a few things that could explain why you might be getting a stale crawl:
- Your server simply did not update the changes you've made on the backend.
- There might an issue with our crawler, which in my last status there isn't a outage that I know of.
I looked into your crawl data and the 404s seems to be confirmed by the report, if you download your latest report and do a sort you should see that
Hope I was able to provide some insight, please let me know if you have questions!
Best,
-
I believe the crawl test has a cache of a couple of days. I'm asking someone from the help desk to come in and confirm, but it may be Monday before they have a chance to do so.

I know there is third party app which I can use to crawl,
but then isn't the crawl test is there for us to do testing instead of using other app rather than seomoz's tool?
-
You may want to give screaming frog or xenu's link sleuth. They should be able to crawl you site and give you the info you need.
-
From what I do with the crawl test, it doesn't show me the latest crawl. I need to check whether all the error 404 or related error was being solved. It only show me the old data which was crawl before but not the latest one.

Hanzo, what is it that you need to do that the crawl test isn't helping you with?

Unsolved Moz Pro crawl signaling missing canonical which are not?
Hi,
Moz Pro | | rolandvintners
I'm trying MozPro considering using it.
One of the tool which is appealing is the crawl and insights.
After quick use, I really question many of the alerts, for instance, I got a "missing canonical tag" on this url: https://vintners.co/wine/grawu_gto#2020 but when I check my markup, there's clearly a canonical tag: <link rel="canonical" href="https://vintners.co/wine/grawu_gto"> Anybody can explain?
I asked Moz Pro staff when being onboarded but didn't get an answer...
Honestly, I'm questioning the value of these crawls, or may be I miss something?0 -
Meta Tag Descriptions not being found in Moz Crawls
Hey guys, I have been managing a few websites and have input them into Moz for crawl reports, etc. For a while I have noticed that we were getting a gratuitous amount of errors when it came to the number of missing meta tags. It was numbering in the 200's. The sites were in place before I got here and a lot of the older posts no one had even attempted to include tags, links of the page or anything. As they are all Wordpress Sites and they all already had the Yoast/Wordpress SEO plug-in installed on them, I decided I would go through each post and media file one at a time and update their meta tags via the plug in. I personally did this so I know that I added and saved each one, however the Moz crawl reports continue to show that we are missing roughly 200 meta tags. I've seen a huge drop off in 404 errors and stuff since I went through and double checked everything on the sites, however the meta tag errors persist. Is this the case that Moz is not recognizing the tags when it crawls because I used the Yoast Plugin? Or would you say that the plugin is the issue and I should find another way to add meta tags to the pages and posts on the site? My main concern is that if Moz is having issues crawling the sites, is Google also seeing the same thing? The URLS include:

A tool to tell a websites estimated traffic
I am new to Moz (as a member), so I am not sure if Moz has a tool that I need. I don't want this post to be about self promotion, so I will keep it short. Our business helps increase conversions and sales for online businesses. Our ideal prospects belongs to some key categories of businesses like ecommerce, saas etc. However, I would like to know the estimated volume of traffic for a website before approaching them and introducing our service. So if there was a tool I could use to estimate the volume of visitors a specific website receives on average a day or month, it would be hugely beneficial.Obviously, these are prospective clients, so we do not have access to their system or their analytics. I just want to get an estimate. So for example, if I entered the domain abc.com into the system, I would hope it could tell me, that abc.com gets an average of 900 unique visitors a day. I don't need too much detail like geographic locations etc, but it would be a bonus having that additional information. I also don't mind paying for a tool that's quality. So it doesn't have to be free.

How do I retrieve crawl and ranking data about a site from the past?
Hey. One of my main clients has asked to see the crawl data and rankings data for the past eight months. He wants to have tangible evidence of the effects of Penguin. I would like that info too. Is it possible to retrieve that information on a weekly crawl and ranking basis through SEO Moz and if so, how do you do it? I simply want to show a graph, timeline and brief explanation across several main keywords... Help me as you guys always do - You rock Best Ben

Seomoz crawling filtered pages
Hi, I just checked an seo campaign we started last week, so I opened seomoz to see the crawl diagnostics. Lot's of duplicate content & duplicate titles showing up, but that's because Rogerbot is crawling all of the filtered pages as well. How do I exclude these pages from being crawled? /product/brand-x/3969?order=brand&sortorder=ASC

Where is the labs LDA topics tool? The articles mentioning it point to http://www.seomoz.org/labs/lda but that forwards me to the tools landing page.
I searched SEOMOZ for this but haven't yet found the answer. It seems that it's been removed. I'm sure it was announced somewhere that I missed
