Removing indexed website

I had a .in TLD version of my .com website floated for about 15 days, which was a duplicate copy of .com website.
I did not wish to use the .in further for SEO duplication reasons and had let the .in domain expire on 26th April. But still now when I search from my website the .in version also shows up in results and even in google webmaster it shows the the website with maximum (190) number of links to my .com website.
I am sure this is hurting the ranking of my .com website. How can the .in website be removed from googles indexing and search results. Given that is has expired also.

How do I know if I was penalized by google?
in google search some links are from .com domain and some from .in domain.
I would like only .com domain to be indexed. you can check geekwik.com and geekwik.in

It will, yes, and you not only will get the new pages indexed faster but also the link juice the previous one had.
If you didn't receive any Google penalty, I would buy the domain, and set a 301 permanent redirect to the new one; or leaving the old one with the content and a rel=canonical tag to wherever the content is in the new domain (that's your decision).
But if you have the chance to get the domain again, for for it at least for 1 year and then, once you get all your new content indexed and the old one deindexed, you can forget about it, or leave it with the 301 redirect (which won't make you any harm, unless that previous domain was penalized).
If it was penalized, then don't. Again, do not get that domain back and point it to your new one, if you do that, all toxic links will be now pointing to your new domain.

Thanks. When you say it will take time, that means how much time?
If I repurchase the domain (it is available) and put it on 404 then will the process be faster?

If the domain expired and there's no content in it, then it will take time. You no longer control the domain, once Google crawls it again it will notice the lack of content and the domain actually expiring. The reason why Google may take some time to remove old content, is because you could be having an issue with the Website and therefore the content is not being served, and that is not a reason to remove/lose rankings.

I'm not sure whether is there a way to remove your website's index in google with a expired domain.
If the domain happens to be not expired then you can use the google webmaster tools > remove urls function to remove the index.

Remove Directory In Webmaster Tools
Hey Moz'erz, I'm removing some URLS from the index and want to confirm the use of the "remove directory" request. If my structure is this: /blogs/customer-success-stories/tagged/ --- all pages that are /tagged/abc, /tagged/dce etc. will be removed correct? First time trying a directory removal as their are 100 plus of these tagged pages. Comments, suggestions and past experiences welcome!

Toxic Link Removal
Greetings Moz Community: Recently I received an site audit from a MOZ certified SEO firm. The audit concluded that technically the site did not have major problems (unique content, good architecture). But the audit identified a high number of toxic links. Out of 1,300 links approximately 40% were classified as suspicious, 55% as toxic and 5% as healthy. After identifying the specific toxic links, the SEO firm wants to make a Google disavow request, then manually request that the links be removed, and then make final disavow request of Google for the removal of remaining bad links. They believe that they can get about 60% of the bad links removed. Only after the removal process is complete do they think it would be appropriate to start building new links. Is there a risk that this strategy will result in a drop of traffic with so many links removed (even if they are bad)? For me (and I am a novice) it would seem more prudent to build links at the same time that toxic links are being removed. According to the SEO firm, the value of the new links in the eyes of Google would be reduced if there were many toxic links to the site; that this approach would be a waste of resources. While I want to move forward efficiently I absolutely want to avoid a risk of a drop of traffic. I might add that I have not received any messages from Google regarding bad links. But my firm did engage in link building in several instances and our traffic did drop after the Penguin update of April 2012. Also, is there value in having a professional SEO firm remove the links and build new ones? Or is this something I can do on my own? I like the idea of having a pro take care of this, but the costs (Audit, coding, design, content strategy, local SEO, link removal, link building, copywriting) are really adding up. Any thoughts??? Homepage no longer indexed in Google
Have been working on a site and the hompage has recently vanished from Google. I submit the site to Google webmaster tools a couple of days ago and checked today and the homepage has vanished. There are no no follow tags, and no robots.txt stopping the page from being crawled. It's a bit of a worry, the site is http://www.beyondthedeal.com

What I doing wrong when trying to search for links from external websites to my website
This is just the little frustrating question nothing important but I’m sure somebody will know the answer. In the white board Friday this week Rand suggested at one point that when you’re searching for results links to your website if you put a - followed by site followed by your url like –site:yourwebsite.com you get the results of pages with links on other websites but excluding your own webpages but it just doesn’t work I get no results just an error message, any idea why? If I remove the - I get tons of results but there on my own webpages……….

When is it safe to remove 301 redirects?
I have created over 500 301 redirects in my .htaccess file, some of them are more than 2 years old now. Should I delete them? I don't like seeing the "notices" number in crawl diagnostics so high 😞

Index Category Archives?
I'm using Wordpress categories to add products. Normally I normally noindex category archives to prevent duplicate content issues, with the blog page serving as the index, but I don't have one with this site http://66.147.244.50/~proflowc/ Should I index the category archives to ensure that products are indexed, or will Google see them anyway?
