How important is a good "follow" / "no-follow" link ratio for SEO?
-
Is it very important to make sure most of the links pointing at your site are "follow" links? Is it problematic to post legitimate comments on blogs that include a link back to relevant content or posts on your site?
-
Like Gian says, you are looking at it a little backwards. It's not problematic at all to get backlinks from comments, just make sure you're not being spammy or overdoing it.
If you really want to look at follow/nofollow ratios, look at your competitor's backlink profiles in OSE or similar.

Mmm...
I think you are looking at this issue from the wrong perspective.
I mean, even though it quite obvious that having a percentage of followed links bigger than the nofollowed ones (link equity), that doesn't mean that you should not do - for instance - good comments to great posts in amazing posts (both authoritative and not).
Those links in comments, if editorially justified and with a natural anchor text are not a problem at all, if they are in site where the overall quality is high, also considering all the other comments.
Linking out to your own site within a comment, though, should be done just if it really means adding value to the post you are commenting... then, if it is considered spam or less, it is also depending on the judgement of the blog owner. So, I repeat, using natural anchor text or even the same URL as anchor, can be somehow as you were telling him: "Ok, I'm linking to my content, but I swear it adds value to your content and improves it". Usually the comment doesn't end in the spam folder.

HELP: Why do I have a 61% score for "% of total links, external + follow"?
Firstly, I understand what this percentage is. It's the ratio of external links that are "follow" -> compared to the links that are "no-follow". Four questions: This is definitely not accurate! I have loads of no-follow links Does anyone have ideas or techniques to add more healthy no-follow links? Am I completely misunderstanding this? Will this high score negatively affect my ranking? I could definitely use some help. Thanks so much in advance. I don't think my website address should help, but if you need it for context, it's estatediamondjewely.com.

Deep linking with redirects & building SEO
Hi there. I'm using deep linking with unique URL's that redirect to our website homepage or app (depending on whether the user accesses the link from an iphone or computer) as a way to track attribution and purchases. I'm wondering whether using links that redirect negatively affects our SEO? Is the homepage still building SEO rank despite the redirects? I appreciate your time & thanks for your help.

Links / Top Pages by Page Authority ==> pages shouldnt be there
I checked my site links and top pages by page authority. What i have found i dont understand, because the first 5-10 pages did not exist!! Should know that we launched a new site and rebuilt the static pages so there are a lot of new pages, and of course we deleted some old ones. I refreshed the sitemap.xml (these pages are not in there) and upload it in GWT. Why those old pages appear under the links menu at top pages by page authority?? How can I fix "Too Many On Page Links"?
One of the warnings from SEO Moz says that we have "too many on page links" on a series of pages on my website. The pages it's giving me these warnings on are on my printing sample pages. I'm assuming that it's because of my left navigation. You can see an example here: http://www.3000doorhangers.com/door-hanger-design-samples/deck-and-fence-door-hanger-samples/ Any suggestions on how to fix this warning? Thanks!

.gb.net domains good for SEO?
I've found a .gb.net domain with a highly competitive exact match term for sale. Do .gb.net domains rank well within google? Or are they considered not as authorative? Is it worth purchasing one?

Advertising links hurt SEO?
I'm working with a publisher who said that having DFA links on his site will hurt his SEO. He is taking my link and pointing it back to his site and then to mine. Does that sound right to you?

Link Juice / Java pop up
Hi all I am a bit unsure of something and would appreciate it if someone could clarify (without the sad trombone hinting that my question is stupid like the last time i asked a question) Our Newsletter was recently posted on a website and i am not sure if the link pointing back is actually passing link juice. When clicking the link, a Java pop up box appears saying "click here to go to authors site" I am wondering if this was implemented to avoid google passing its juice? Or if google can index the pop up and give us credit for the link? Please have a look at the article, and let me know what you guys think? http://www.bestholidaynews.com/adventure-and-activities/africa/our-top-3-overlanding-egypt-trips-2.html Thanks in advance Regards Greg
