Why is our sitemap not being indexed on Webmaster Tools?
-
Hi there,
We have been having a problem with one of our websites. It appears as though someone has stolen our template and used it for themselves, but in the process also stole our analytics information. We have problems with the analytics, but are fixing that ourselves. The problem we have now is that when we tried to put in a sitemap into Google Webmaster Tools the URLs are submitted but have yet to be indexed. We have tried pinging them, but there has been no change. This is not a problem for our other websites which are very similar.
What could be the problem here? For reference, the url is http://www.dentistinlittlerock.com
Thank you for your responses in advance!

I just noticed that some of your pages are indexed under www.dentistinlittlerock.com and some with out the www's at dentistinlittlerock.com. This could be why you are not seeing them all indexed in your webmaster tools. Webmaster tools see these as two different sites.
You should set up a 301 redirect to have them all go to one domain(either www.dentistinlittlerock.com or dentistinlittlerock.com). This should fix it.

What makes you think that the pages are not being index?
Looking at your sitemap at http://www.dentistinlittlerock.com/sitemap.xml I see 10 different pages listed. Two of these are a duplicate listing of the home page so you really have 9 separate pages listed there.
Looking indexed pages on Google I see all 9 pages listed: http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&q=site%3Adentistinlittlerock.com
So it looks like all of the pages have been indexed. If you have a different sitemap please list it so we can take a look at it.
Thanks

A few suggestions:
-
check your sitemap location in Google WMT. Be sure it is correct. GWMT > Site Configuration > Sitemaps
-
check to ensure your sitemap is accessible. Try using another pc and putting in the URL to the sitemap.
-
your sitemap should be located in your root level directory. Alternatively you can establish a route for your sitemap.

NO Meta description pulling through in SERP with react website - Requesting Indexing & Submitting to Google with no luck
Hi there, A year ago I launched a website using react, which has caused Google to not read my meta descriptions. I've submitted the sitemap and there was no change in the SERP. Then, I tried "Fetch and Render" and request indexing for the homepage, which did work, however I have over 300 pages and I can't do that for every one. I have requested a fetch, render and index for "this url and linked pages," and while Google's cache has updated, the SERP listing has not. I looked in the Index Coverage report for the new GSC and it says the urls and valid and indexable, and yet there's still no meta description. I realize that Google doesn't have to index all pages, and that Google may not also take your meta description, but I want to make sure I do my due diligence in making the website crawlable. My main questions are: If Google didn't reindex ANYTHING when I submitted the sitemap, what might be wrong with my sitemap? Is submitting each url manually bad, and if so, why? Am I simply jumping the gun since it's only been a week since I requested indexing for the main url and all the linked urls? Any other suggestions?

Why is my homepage not indexed by Google or Bing
http://www.schoppnutritionclinic.com/ Home page is not indexed by Google or Bing but all other pages are indexed. I know that currently i am missing the robot.TXT file and the sitemap. This is something i am woking on as a possible solution. I would have thought Google/Bing would have still indexed this page regardless of the lack of sitemap/robot.txt files not being present. I attempted to run a fetch and render in Webmaster tools and received a Not Found status.

Sitemap created on client's Joomla site but it is not showing up on site reports as existing? (Thumbs Up To Answers)
I am working with a web developer who built our client's site in Joomla. I seem to have a lot of issues with Joomla based sites. Any how, the site is www.pitgearusa.com and when we run site reports it is showing there is no xml sitemap. However he used a popular Joomla plugin for sitemaps called Xmap. Here is their url: http://www.jooxmap.com/ Can anyone provide any advice on what the website developer needs to do in order for the xml sitemap to function and "show up" on reports? Thanks Mashed Up

Best Way to Remove Mutltiple XML Sitemaps From Multiple Subdomains
Just found a series of of XML sitemaps hosted like so: http://www.thesite.anothersite.com/sitemap.xml and defaulted to remove and 301 redirect but as this is the first time I've encountered an issue like this, an outside opinion or two would be much appreciated. Is the 301 the best option, should I 404 them or what?

Usual time to index and rank a new site
Hi Just wondering if anyone knew how long it usually takes for a brand new site to get indexed and ranked? I launched a new site about 5 weeks ago. So far I have had 96,000 pages indexed but the majority haven't ranked particularly well or appeared. The ones that have ranked aren't ranking high even though they have better content than competitors sites... And my old domain. Do I just need to hang tight and wait till my domain authority improves? Is there anything I can do to speed up this process? cheers

XML Sitemap that updates daily/weekly?
Hi, I have a sitemap on my site, that updates but it isn't a XML sitemap. See here: http://www.designerboutique-online.com/sitemap/ I have used some free software to crawl the site and create a sitemap of pages, however I think that if I were to upload the sitemap, it would be out of date as soon as I listed new products on the site, so would need to rerun it. Does anyone know how I can get this to refresh daily or weekly? Or any software that can do it? I have a web firm that are willing to do one, but our relationship is at an all time low and I don't want to hand over £200 for them to do one. Anyone with any ideas or advice? Thanks Will
