Why is OSE not showing Google+ bio link in backlink profile?
-
Hi fellow mozzers
I wonder why opensiteexplorer (ose) isn't showing Google+ bio links in backlink profile reports of websites that get a link from the "about" page of a Google+ account (+ contributor link).
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

That's great news. Thanks for the update.

Hi Jacob,
Sorry for the late response. We're working on including more links from HTTPS websites (i.e. Google+) which is something we haven't been able to previously do before. But our new crawling technology should be able to handle this no problem. Look for it soon!

Hi Cyrus,
Any updates about the G+ situation?
-
Actually, the specific situation with G+ is an interresting question. Let me ask our engineers about this rand see if we can find some answers going forward.

Hi Cyrus,
Thank you for responding to my question. I understand the massive job Roger (and the moz team) performs weekly. I was only wondering why specifically Google+ bio's weren't showing up, and if there was a specific reason.
They have excellent authority so we were eager to see the impact on our scores.I understand it's only due to the size of the web that some links e.g. Google+ aren't showing.
Thanks again.

Hi Jacob,
This isn't uncommon. OSE and Mozscape crawl the web and do their best to report on links most likely to influence rankings and traffic, but they don't report all links. The latest index, I believe, is around 90 Billion links. It's a pretty good index, but we can do better, and have plans to do better going forward:
http://moz.com/products/api/updates
We do a good job of finding/reporting the most important links on the web, but sometimes we miss a few links on less popular pages.
My friend Aaron Wheeler gave this explanation of how our crawlers work:
"We update our Linkscape Index every 3 to 5 weeks. Crawling the whole internet to look for links takes 2-3 weeks. And then we’ve got 1-2 weeks of processing to do on those links to determine which are the most important links etc. You can see a schedule of how often we update, and planned updates here.
Linkscape focuses on a breadth-first approach, and thus we nearly always have content from the homepage of websites, externally linked-to pages and pages higher up in a site’s information hierarchy. However, deep pages that are buried beneath many layers of navigation are sometimes missed and it may be several index updates before we catch all of these.
If our crawlers or data sources are blocked from reaching those URLs, they may not be included in our index (though links that points to those pages will still be available). Finally, the URLs seen by Linkscape must be linked-to by other documents on the web or our index will not include them.
I hope this information helps! While the site may not be indexed yet, give it some time – maybe we’ll see it in OSE and Linkscape next month.
Best of luck!
Aaron" -
not only Google Plus Even Facebook & twitter also ignoring. May be OSE put these social sites in filter while calculating the all backlinks

We are moving to HTTPS and wanted to know if our link building efforts were in vain or will the link juice pass to HTTPS?
We are switching to HTTPS and want to make sure the links we've gotten in the past will still transfer since they are pointing to HTTP? I'd hate to go back through and ask people to please add an s to the link.

How many links per week/month should a link building campaign acquire?
I am running a linkbuilding campaign for my company. I am mostly focusing on guest blogging opportunities and responding to emails from HARO. How many links would I have to acquire each week or month to be considered doing a good job over a 6 month or a year time period? Thank you,

Root Domain Link for Affiliate's Link
It seems my affiliate link: http://www.hrmsplugins.com?partners=21 is not being considered as a "root domain" backlink when this link is used on their website. Is there a reason for this?

Best links not showing up
I was wondering why some of my best (high-ranking) links don't show up either in Open Site Explorer or Majestic SEO's backlinks tool. Does Google even see them?

How does Google treat multiple backlinks on the same page?
Hello mozCrew Just a quick yay or nay. We have an embeddable code on our site for customers who want to post our link on their website listed here: http://www.accupos.com/etc/embed-code-restaurants.php But in our link, there are actually 2 separate links, one branding link that says the name of our company, AccuPOS, and another link which targets a specific target keyword "Restaurant POS Software". My question is, does Google only give credit for the branding link, since it is listed FIRST? Or will we get double credit? Is this a good or bad practice, and what would you recommend? Thank you! Why does SEOmoz not show links to my website?
Google WebMaster shows that 55 external sites have links to my website (webmakercms.com). But SEOmoz shows only 5 links and when I click on "download to CSV" I get a message saying that there is no data for this url in Open Site Explorer. Why is this?

Free link on a Paid Link Blog
Hi there, I have been doing some outreaching, and managed to have a blog post accepted on a authority blog. They included links to my website, and I was very pleased with the placement. However, having browsed through the site, I was worried to see that they openly admit they allow 'reviews' of websites, with backlinks included, for $50 per review. I am worried I might be penalised without actually doing anything wrong. I did not pay for my link, but the link has been placed on a site which openly admits they accept payment for links. Should I be worried? Should I ask them to take it down? To date I have been told countless times by bloggers I am outreaching that if I pay $10, $50, $100 etc I can write a blog post. I have never accepted because of the risk of penalization. Now, unwittingly, I am linked to from a paid link site with a blog post that would look like I have paid for it because of the placement and style of back link. What do you think? Thanks,
