Date apppearing in SERPS
-
Anyone have an idea why dates might be appearing in search results for a small number of my pages and not others? There is no date on any of the pages themselves and nothing in the back-end CMS indicating dates should appear.
Some of the dates (presumably from when the snippets were originally created) are over a year old and make all the information look terribly out of date.
Any ideas?
-
Do you have/have you submitted any video sitemaps?
-
No, there's nothing linking to the page from around that date The dates are only appearing on pages with videos though, so that is presumably the cause, but I can't quite figure it out either.
-
I'm not sure that's the case, the only schema I can see on this or the http://www.kenwoodtravel.co.uk/caribbean/antigua/holidays/ page is around the breadcrumb mark-up and doesn't contain any dates.
There are no dates in the sitemap.xml either.
The cached version of the page is the 25th may this year. So I don't see where it's getting the "Aug 22, 2012" date from... does this tie in with anything in the page's history?
The response header has the last modified date set to: "Last-Modified: Tue, 04 Jun 2013 14:42:38 GMT" (The current time)
Grasping at straws here, but are there inbound links from a blog post with that date? (And if there are, would/could that be the cause?)
Do the dates appear on any pages linking to the affected page?
It's a bit of a mystery!
-
Yeah it is, now that you mention it is on all them. That must be the problem. Any easy way to fix this? I'm not as clued in to this schema business as I should be.
Here's an example: http://www.kenwoodtravel.co.uk/florida/holidays/
-
Sure, the domain is Kenwoodtravel.co.uk and the particular keyword that the particular page it's cropping up on is the Antigua landing, main keyword: "Antigua holidays". The problem is occurring on a few other pages as well.
-
Is the schema on the pages you have dates appearing on?
Got any examples?
-
Yep, generally used for videos.
-
Do you have any examples you can give us? Keywords / domain etc?
-
Do you have any schema at all?

What is this SERP feature called? Organic ads...?
What are these called (screenshot attached)? They are organic product listings in the body of the SERP that look just like paid ads, but are placed below paid ads. I would like to read up on how to optimize for them, but am having trouble finding information.Capture.PNG

On March 10 a client's newsroom disappeared out of the SERPS. Any idea why?
For years the newsroom, which is on the subdomain news.davidlerner.com - has ranked #2 for their brand name search. On march 10 it fell out of the SERPs - it is completely gone. What happened? How can I fix this?

Robots.txt Showing in SERP Results
Currently doing a technical audit for a website and when I search "Site:website.com -www" the only result is website.com/robots.txt I was wondering if anyone else has come across this before -- or what this may mean from a technical audit standpoint. Thank you!

Will moving a well established Blog to a different URL (on the same domain) affect the SERPs?
Hi SEOmoz experts, We will shortly be launching a new product range (B-Events) on our Events website and I was wondering if moving our current A-Events specific blog will impact the SERPs at all? Quite a few of our blog posts rank well for longtail A-Events terms, so we're a little reluctant to move it. But for the long term it makes more sense than creating & maintaining 2 separate blogs. Current Blog URL: domain.com/a-events/blog New Blog URL: domain.com/news New A-Events Category: domain.com/news/a-events New B-Events Category: domain.com/news/b-events I intend to 301 redirect all of the old URLs (200+) to their new blog category equivalent, will this be enough to keep their positions in the SERPs? Can you recommend / think of anything else, that we might not have considered. Any help would be much appreciated!

Get iTunes SERP
Hi, I would really like to understnad how iTunes (apple) get those great serp in google (see attached image). In addition to the image (which is the main thing I would love to get) they have price, rating and votes numbers. Currently I know about the schema.org tags that can help implement that but I couldn't find this in the source code of the page. Thanx itunes-serp 20120102-gmpk3ih8492w52tbsrrpy573w4.jpg

The effect of same IP addresses on SERPs
Hi All, Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on the following. If I was ranking number 1 for a term, what would the effects be of creating another site, hosted on the same server / IP, same whois info, same URL but a different TLD, and trying to get this to rank for the term also. Does G restrict search results to one IP per page or is this perfectly possible? (The term is fairly uncompetitive) Thanks, Ben
