Is that Penguin 2.0 or just temporary situation?
-
Hey,
i changed my hosting provider because better server hardware on 22 May. And many results dropped on google! My website opened only just 17 Jan 2013.
Maybe you want to look my anchors. you can find attachment image. Total backlinks: 4,9K
Is that temporary situation coz changing ip address (hosting provider) or penguin 2.0?

If your back link profile is good it's just coincidental that your traffic drop, your IP address change, and Penguin2 all happened on the same day, then wait it out--obviously you're doing something well to have all those back links. If your link profile is on the low quality side, it's probably time to start cleaning house and doing the things penguin victims have to do. Here's a little more info on the May 22nd penguin update.

What you suggest now?
waiting little bit more? or making somethings?

Almost 5K back links in 5 month is not bad as long as they're coming from legitimate sources and the growth is consistent. If I were going to make a guess as to whether it was the IP address change or the back links that were the root of the problem, I'd guess the back links.

Interesting, thanks for the followup. I've not heard about this signal.
Seems like that was over a week ago, and the reason you reposted is b/c you want to confirm whether the IP address is really impacting the rankings.
Lauren Vincent sounds like she has had some experience with it -- I recommend contacting her to ask the severity and duration of these penalties.
The second response to your original post suggested that the penalty should not be significant. So something is up, and it's best to contact someone who knows!
(I also recommend editing the post from today to include the original post)

Hey Shu,
thanks for response.
this link my first question on moz and Laurean Vincent said this is normal for changing ip address.

Changing your hosting provider does not impact your ratings in any significant manner. Something significant-- like changing your domain/subdomain, or a bunch of URL's--would be necessary for Google to ding your site.
Since you pointed out that you changed hardware right around when Penguin came out -- I would say the culprit is Penguin.

Ranking 2 pages on the same domain in the same SERP
I thought it was generally said that Google will favour 1 page per domain for a particular SERP, but I have seen examples where that is not the case (i.e. Same domain is ranking 2 different pages on the 1st page of the SERPs...) Are there any "tricks" to taking up 2 first page SERP positions, or am I mistaken that this doesn't always happen?

Mobile Site Panda 4.2 Penalty
We are an ecommerce company, and we outsource our mobile site to a service, and our mobile site is m.ourdomain.com. We pass the Google mobile ready test. Our product page content on the mobile site is woefully thin (typically less than 100 words), and it appears that we got hit with Panda 4.2 on the mobile site. Starting at the end of July, our mobile rankings have dropped, and our mobile traffic is now about half of what it was in July. We are working to correct the content issue but it obviously takes time. So here's my question - if our mobile site got hit with Panda 4.2, could that have a negative effect on our desktop site?

Has My Site Been Hit by Panda 4.0?
I operate a New York City commercial real estate web site (www.nyc-officespace-leader.com). Ranking and traffic have dropped steeply since early June. Around May 20th a new Panda update was launched by Google and I wonder if that could partially explain the drop. My site contains the following: -300 listing pages. These are product pages and often contain less than 100 words. Many have not been changed in two years. -150 Building pages. These contain less than 220 words. Many have not been changed in two years. -40 blog pages. We have been adding 1 or 2 per month. -50 or 60 neighborhood and type of space pages. These contain 200-600 words. Could our drop in traffic be due to Panda? I might add that an upgraded version of the site with new forms, a modified right rail an header was launched on June 6th. Also, we submitted a disavow file with Google on April 20th for about 100 toxic domains, one third of the 300 domains that link to us. In order to take remedial action we need to understand what has happened. Any ideas??? Thanks, Alan

Penguin Rescue! A lead has been hit and I need to save them!
I had a meeting today with a prospective client who has been hit by Penguin. Their previous SEO company has obviously used some questionable techniques which is great for me, bad for the client. Their leads have dropped from 10 per day to 1 or 2. Their analytics shows a drop after the 25th, a back link check shows a lot of low quality links. Domain metrics are pretty good and they are still ranking ok for some keywords. I have 1 month to turn it around for them. How do you wise people think it can be done? First of all I will check the on-site optimisation. I will ensure that the site isn't over optimised. Secondly, do I try and remove the bad links? Or just hit the site with good content and good links to outweigh the bad ones. Also, do you think G is actually dropping rankings for the over optimisation / bad links or are the links are just being discredited rsulting in the drop in rankings. 2 very different things. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Have a problem with our home page. Is temporary 301 redirect an option?
Hey Mozers, I discovered this morning that the home page for my website is rendering fine in Chrome and Firefox, but very poorly in IE. My analytics show that over 50% of my visitors are using IE. As a result of the problem, IE has a bounce rate 32% higher than other browsers. I'm not a web developer and I'm fairly new to SEO, so I'm guessing that it's going to take me at least a couple days to get it fixed. In the meantime, I was considering doing a 301 redirect from the home page to the largest category page in hopes of keeping some of the IE users from bouncing while I get the home page sorted out. Would there be any long term negative effects from this once I get the page sorted out and take the 301 off it? Are there any other solutions that would be better? Thanks for the help!

20 percent URL to be restructured - Should sitemap submission wait for 2 months
This site has over 5,000 pages & over 1000 URLS are going to be restructed. But this restrucuring will happen only 2 months later. Hence do we have to wait for 2 months before we submit for XML sitemap files to search engines. We would not like to wait, but our SEO consultant expert says we need to wait until the above refrred URl's are rewritten.
