I completely agree with you Dana.
You said yourself the pages hold keyword heave images in a slider. This could also be one of the problems. If your URL in combination with page title, and page content is too heavy one keywords you could notice negative effects. In this case enormous drops in rankings.
Like Dana suggested, go step by step and isolate the exact problem. Otherwise everything you do can make things even worse in stead of better.
And like Dana suggested, I've had a website that was rankings no. 3 for a very competitive keyword, from one day to another, dropped over 50 positions, in the next couple of days rankings restored. Did I panick, Yes. Did I analyse if there was a problem, Yes, Did I change anything major to the site? NO.
Keep it simple and work in logical steps and you should be fine.

If I were you I would have waited a week before making any drastic changes. I have seen extreme, and sometimes major extreme volatility in rankings before. I've literally seen a site go from position one in Google, to not being in the top 50 to being #1 again the next week.
Don't panic.
Analyze.
Evaluate
Rinse & repeat.
When you feel like you've got a handle on what you need to change and why, make incremental changes.
Otherwise? You're pissing in the wind.

Are slides how's etc the new Splash Pages?
I just did SEO audits of approx 50 websites in the tourism sector. Nearly all had poor Google Pagespeed ratings, partly down to that, among other factors. I also feel that slideshows,, large images and videos in headers are poor for usability. I say get the content people need to engage with in front of them asap Are there any stats or studies that can provide insight on this? I've been telling those with these designs to keep an eye on bounce rates and let that guide them

19 Hours Excessive to Code Single Wordpress Page?
My developer says that is will take 19 hours to modify a listing page of the wpcasa London real estate theme because the existing template is difficult to customize. I am attaching an image of the existing page before customization and an image of a final mock up. Is 19 hours a reasonable amount of time to customize this page? Look forward to feedback. How to fix non-crawlable pages affected by CSS modals?
I stumbled across something new when doing a site audit in SEMRUSH today ---> Modals. The case: Several pages could not be crawled because of (modal:) in the URL. What I know: "A modal is a dialog box/popup window that is displayed on top of the current page" based on CSS and JS. What I don't know: How to prevent crawlers from finding them.

Funnel tracking with one page check-out?
Hi Guys, I'm creating a new website with a one page checkout that follows the following steps:
Web Design | | Jerune
1. Check availability
2. Select product
2. Select additional product & Add features
3. Provide personal information
4. Order & Pay I'm researching if it is possible to track all these steps (and even steps within the steps) with Google Analytics in order to analyse checkout abandonment. The problem is only that my one-page checkout has only one URL (I want to keep it that way) and therefore can not be differentiated on URL in the Analytics funnel. To continue to the next step also the same button (in a floating cart) in used to advance. The buttons to select/choose something within one step are all different. Do you guys know how I can set this up and how detailed I can make this? For example, is it also possible to test at which field visitors leave when for example filling in their personal information? Would be great if you can help me out!0 -
40 percent redundant content on landing pages with 60 percent unique information.
I have searched schema.org for tags to use for our redudant content on 25 unique local landing pages. The redundant content references our services and abilities on each page. Could anyone tell me how to retain this content and direct the search engines to disregard this portion of the landing page. We are a WordPress site -- if there is a plugin - I would love to know which one might work, although I have not been able to find one that will protect us from duplicate content issues. Thank you in advance.

Writing A Data Extraction To Web Page Program
In my area, there are few different law enforcement agencies that post real time data on car accidents. One is http://www.flhsmv.gov/fhp/traffic/crs_h501.htm. They post the accidents by county, and then in the location heading, they add the intersection and the city. For most of these counties and cities, our website, http://www.kempruge.com/personal-injury/auto-and-car-accidents/ has city and county specific pages. I need to figure out a way to pull the information from the FHP site and other real time crash sites so that it will automatically post on our pages. For example, if there's an accident in Hillsborough County on I-275 in Tampa, I'd like to have that immediately post on our "Hillsborough county car accident attorney" page and our "Tampa car accident attorney" page. I want our pages to have something comparable to a stock ticker widget, but for car accidents specific to each pages location AND combines all the info from the various law enforcement agencies. Any thoughts on how to go about creating this? As always, thank you all for taking time out of your work to assist me with whatever information or ideas you have. I really appreciate it.

Best way of conserving link juice from non important pages
If I have a bunch of non important pages on my website which are of little use in the SE's index - IE contact us pages, pages which are near duplicate and conflict with KW's targetting other pages etc, what is the best way of retaining the link juice that would normally be passed to these pages? Most recent discussion I have read has said that with nofollow you effectively just loose link juice, as opposed to conserving it, so that doesn't seem a great option. If I do "noindex" on these pages, would that conserve the link juice in the site, or again would it be just lost? It seems quite a tricky situation as many pages are legitimate for customer usability, but are not worth having in the SE's index and you better off consolidating link juice - so it seems you are getting penilised for making something "for users". Thanks
