Bing still not listing my site after 3 weeks, Google ranks very very low
-
I am scared that somehow the search engines are penalizing me for something, but I don't know what.
The site can be found at http://www.hypnotherapy-guide.com
It is a business directory/advice/guide site listing a lot of hypnotherapists (9000). Is it possible that such a large site popping up over night is flagged by the SE as spam?
I don't know what I am doing wrong.

I agree to a point but if your running a company on the web I would I would open my Who is to allow people to see my company information. I would not use my personal email I would use an email that is tied to your company however has its own individual box and I would set the spam filter extremely high on it. I would also make sure that your company information is listed primarily for spam filters more than search engine optimization however I know that by opening it up you will not be a will to hurt yourself with the search engines by blocking it there's a possibility that you can however if you feel very uncomfortable having people see the information I completely understand however I would strongly recommend just having very general information and then letting your DNS host or web host serve as the technical contact
Check this out #5I'm not saying that this is 100% right but it does make some sensehttp://www.redflymarketing.com/blog/the-5-easiest-ways-to-get-search-engines-to-trust-you/I hope this is of help sincerely, Thomas

Your whois privacy settings shouldn't do much in terms of rankings. Beyond submitting your sitemap, you can also submit URLs of actual pages through Google and Bing with their Fetch as Googlebot and Fetch as Bingbot tools. I'd do that for Bing, as it might help you get into their index faster.

Great, thank you for your speedy responses.
I actually did all the web tools for Bing and Google, so I am going to resubmit my sitemap just in case.
In terms of privacy settings, how much does this influence? I ask because I am not trading an d have not set up an official company as of yet, so I don't want to expose my personal details to spammers and the like.
What do you think?
Thanks again

Make sure you let Google and Bing know that your site exists! Set up Google Webmaster Tools and Bing Webmaster Tools. Also, you can submit URLs in both to try and get your pages indexed faster.

Your domain needs a little bit more time. Give minimum of six months for it to show up correctly on Google
Registered Through:Domain Name:hypnotherapy-guide.comCreated:2013-06-05Expires:2014-06-05Updated:2013-06-06Also turn off the privacy settings. A lot of websites that evaluate other websites consider that the hiding something. You can use OpenWebExplorer found here to find back links to your domain. I tried it with www. and without and got the same resulthttp://www.opensiteexplorer.org/anchors?site=www.hypnotherapy-guide.com

I assume that this is a brand-new domain?
You have a zero Moz rank for your site http://www.hypnotherapy-guide.com/
So you have to wait a little bit until Google actually make sure it can first index your site which it sounds like it has.
Then you have to get credible content and credible links pointing to your site in order to get a good ranking. You can use Bing Webmaster tools in order to get your site right there quicker and make sure it's indexed faster than it would be without having to use use the tools.
I hope I've been of help to you,
Thomas

Ranking Sub Categories on Ecommerce Site
Hi, I haven't tested this yet, so before I do I wanted to see if anyone had some experience with this. I have lower level categories I want to rank for SEO for example: Say I want to rank 'Standard Metal Lockers' - with the way our site is set up, I have to work within a classification, which isn't always easy. So it would be categorised as follows: Cupboards & Lockers > Lockers > Standard Lockers > Standard Metal Lockers The URL structure would remain /standard-metal-lockers & I would link this from the 'Lockers' page. Is this too deep in the site structure to rank? I think if it's linked properly & promoted it will be fine, but I'd like to see if anyone else has had this issue. Becky

We did a lot of 301's on the old url's (around 3000 /4000 i guess) and submitted a new sitemap (around 12.000 urls, of which 10.500 are indexed). The strange thing is.. When i check the indexing status in webmaster tools Google tells me there are over 98.000 url's indexed.
Doing the site:domainx.com Google tells me there are 111.000 url's indexed. Another strange thing which another forum member describes here : Cache date has been reverted And next to that old url's (which have a 301 for about a month now) keep showing up in the index. Does anyone know what i could do to solve the problem?0 -
Will Google bots crawl tablet optimized pages of our site?
We are in the process of creating a tablet experience for a portion of our site. We haven’t yet decided if we will use a one URL structure for pages that will have a tablet experience or if we will create separate URLs that can only be access by tablet users. Either way, will the tablet versions of these pages/URLs be crawled by Google bots?

It appears that Googlebot Mobile will look for mobile redirects from the desktop site, but still use the SEO from the desktop site.
Is the above statement correct? I've read that its better to have different SEO titles & descriptions for mobile sites as users search differently on mobile devices. I've also read it's good to link build, keep text content on mobile sites etc to get the mobile site to rank. If I choose to not have titles & descriptions on my mobile site will Google just rank our desktop version & then redirect a user on a mobile device to our mobile site or should I be adding in titles & descriptions into the mobile site? Thanks so much for any help!

Google Listing & Description Categories Question
How do you set up a website or home page to get the individual listing below the description text. For example with the SEO moz listing there are many of the categories listed below the description. Such as SEO Blog, SEO tools ... Is there a way to add this to a home page so good will pick it up this way? I attached a screen shot of what I am talking about because I think I am likely using the wrong terminology. Npcpu.png
