Domain Authority
-
Hi,
I've been adding links to my site on directories, article sites and relevant industry blogs. I've also been given and a budget for Google Ads, which has also increased traffic. In the last week my Keyword positions have risen. However, my domain authority has reduced. I know the most important thing is improving traffic and keywords but I'd like to know how I can improve my domain authority.
What is causing it to reduce and how can I improve it?
Cheers,
Neville -
From that video, you want to go to this one: A Manifesto of Content Marketing and then to this: Moz Chap. 7 Growing Popularity & Links

Yes this can happen. Adding your listing to poor quality directories can bring your DA down. If you remove the directory listings from low quality websites, then your traffic may increase and your DA go up (assuming everything else is the same). Try it out and if your traffic drops, put the listings back in.

Thanks Chris,
Very helpful.
It seems when I've added links in directories, with poor domain authorities, it's had a negative impact on my site. I need to target links from higher quality sites and also link to these sites.

Neville,
I'd recommend you start with this Whiteboard Friday video on domain authority.

Best SEO for New Lead Gen Site: Use Corporate Domain or Product Name?
Hello, wanted to poll the Moz community about a URL discussion my company is having. We plan to launch a new publicly-facing resource and want to leverage organic search as much as possible. For the domain, we’re considering these options: the corporate domain since it’s well established or the URL for the product, which is more descriptive of the content that will reside on the page, but doesn’t have much authority because almost all of the relevant content is behind a paywall. The product domain is appealing because we want to build brand recognition. Should we also look at a more specific domain for the topic that doesn’t leverage either branded domain? Any Moz tools you’d recommend to help research this decision? Thank you in advance for your thoughts!

Competitive Domain Analysis.. Can anyone explain this
As you can see from the following 3 images below that 3 out of 4 companies have declined in Domain Authority however one has managed to actually increase and stay up. Can anyone explain how this may be for the company that has stayed up has lost total external followed link and has only increased linking C-block domains by 1 uLTyDWz,QvBCoka,xT1rsod#2 uLTyDWz,QvBCoka,xT1rsod#1 uLTyDWz,QvBCoka,xT1rsod#0

Report on a whole domain
Hi, I am wondering if I can run a report which gives me the OSE results for every page on a domain, as opposed to just a single page? Can't find this anywhere! thanks, Brian

Mass lookup of Domain Authority
Is there a way to upload 100 sites to somewhere in SEOmoz and get the domain authority of each site? If not, what is the fastest way to get DA for 100 sites? Thanks, Steve

How to handle 2 domains pointing to the same server.
My client has 2 domains which point to the same sever. eg a.com and b.com both point to the same place. For now a.com has better seo but the client wants to switch to using b.com more. Im guessing 301 redirects will not work in this case. How would I handle this? If i'm forced to manage both domains, what is the best practice for monitoring in seomoz pro. Should i set up a.com as a competitor?

About the rankings report in the Pro Dashboard, does it track the ranking of every page on a root domain, or just the home page or whichever page you set up the campaign with?
I noticed that one of the pages on my root domain has a #5 rank for a keyword, yet the ranking report says that there are no results in the top 50. So I am assuming it is only tracking the home page. That is one thing I liked about the Rank Tracker, that it would find any page that was ranking on a root domain. Thanks, Lara

Trifecta Report (domain)
Recently i have found that the data in the trifecta report is becoming less complete. For the last few sites i found that the report returned about half of the metrics it was looking for. For instance, it mentioned that one of the domains did not have a dmoz or wikipedia link/page even though they had both? Also, it rarely returns the Yahoo Site Explorer metrics even though when clicking to see the source the data is there? Are you guys planning on phasing out this tool, if not it seems like some work needs to be done on cleaning it up. Thanks!
