Next Google PR update
-
When is next google Pagerank update is expected to arrive.
I know it takes one month to one year for Google to update it but I know many people sitting here at Moz know some secrets for sure. -
Dr. Peter J. Meyers, Yes I totally agree with your point. Thanks a lot guys for your help in finding me the right information.
-
I'd just warn that Google seems to be signalling that toolbar PR updates may slow down or eventually stop altogether. If it wasn't for industry outcry, they would've stopped a while ago, I'm sure.
-
If you check the schedule in the link Dr Pete provided then you'll see that the chance is big that in the upcoming months a new dataset will be launched.
-
Sorry guys my question is not about PR is as a measuring stick or a good/bad variable for SEO analysis.I want to know only when its going to be updated.
-
I don't know anyone who has a back-channel into when Google updates toolbar PR. They've been increasingly inconsistent. The last one was in February, as best I'm aware. Shaun Anderson reports them pretty reliable, from what I've seen:
http://www.hobo-web.co.uk/google-pr-update/
That said, I agree with William - toolbar PR is a very unreliable metric and limited metric, and it's often so outdated by the time it updates that it's easy to misinterpret. Real PageRank is being updated in nearly real-time, and even "true" PR is just one of 200+ ranking signals.
-
The secret is that the number is irrelevant. Sure it might be a measuring stick but it is one of the last thing you need to worry about.
The only people really worried about PR is people trying to sell links or sell a site. Other than those reasons PR doesn't do anything for a site's performance.
Lets say your PR is showing 0 right now, and next update you will be PR 3. You will already be performing as a PR 3 even if your toolbar doesn't say so.

US domain pages showing up in Google UK SERP
Hi, Our website which was predominantly for UK market was setup with a .com extension and only two years ago other domains were added - US (.us) , IE (.ie), EU (.eu) & AU (.com.au) Last year in July, we noticed that few .us domain urls were showing up in UK SERPs and we realized the sitemap for .us site was incorrectly referring to UK (.com) so we corrected that and the .us domain urls stopped appearing in the SERP. Not sure if this actually fixed the issue or was such coincidental. However in last couple of weeks more than 3 .us domain urls are showing for each brand search made on Google UK and sometimes it replaces the .com results all together. I have double checked the PA for US pages, they are far below the UK ones. Has anyone noticed similar behaviour &/or could anyone please help me troubleshoot this issue? Thanks in advance, R

Wonder if anyone can help with this one? I have an ecommerce site www.doggydazzles.co.uk which went live on Friday and was submitted to Google via webmaster tools on saturday morning, but I can't find any trace of it in a google search?
I'm a bit stuck with this as its never happened to any of my other sites.
Can anyone help please or make suggestions as to what I can do to get ranked quicker? Thanks0 -
Test site is live on Google but it duplicates existing site...
Hello - my developer has just put a test site up on Google which duplicates my existing site (main url is www.mydomain.com and he's put it up on www.mydomain.com/test/ "...I’ve added /test/ to the disallowed urls in robots.txt" is how he put it. So all the site URLs are content replicated and live on Google with /test/ added so he can block them in robots. In all other ways the test site duplicates all content, etc (until I get around to making some tweaks next week, that is). Is this a bad idea or should I be OK. Last thing I want is a duplicate content or some other Google penalty just because I'm tweaking an existing website! Thanks in advance, Luke

Page details in Google Search
I noticed this morning a drop in the SERPs for a couple of my main keywords. And even though this is a little annoying the more pressing matter is that Google is not displaying the meta title I have specified for the majority of my sites pages, despite one being specified and knowing my site has them in place. Could this sudden change to not using my specified title be the cause of the drop, and why would they be being displayed by Google in the first place, when they are there to be used. The title currently being displayed inthe SERPs is not anything that has been specified in the past or from the previous latest crawl etc. Any insight would be appreciated. Tim

Bing Vs Google SERP
I realize the major search engines use different criteria but I don't see how - for the same home page keyword - my site could rank #3 on page 1 for a Bing search and be off the charts (Page 15+)? on Google. Has Google gone so far off the charts with their new Penguins and Pandas so as to be in a different universe? Seems Google is now extremely over-weighting big sites like Wikipedia, WebMD, eHow, etc. and in doing so vastly reducing the diversity of results shown. I am commonly seeing different pages of the same website appear multiple times in the first 2-3 pages of Google results. What's the point?

Google Rankings Jumping Around
Hi, Since January, the Google rankings for one of our sites has been jumping around. Sometimes it's on page 1, then it disappears and comes back around 1 month later. It's strange because it's only a small section of the site that it's happening to. Every other section of the site is doing really well. Just wondered if anyone else is having this problem, or has had it and can suggest any fixes. There are no technical issues, no changes have been made to the site, all I can think is it's Google messing around with their algorithm? Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Karen
