Search issues
-
I often use the search tool to give comparisons from 1 company to another and recently have found it not working very well, i am constantly refreshing as it has the circle whirling round for many minutes at a time, it often brings up the results of searches I did earlier in the day or even the day before, and the overall time that it takes to bring up the information I have requested seems to be getting longer and longer. Now working in a face paced environment this can often loose an hour of my time each day just waiting on information that I have already entered several times.
I feel that the quality of the service has just slowed down so much that I am now looking at other companies/tools to gain the same information, is there anything that has happened on your side recently that has caused this issue? are other users experiencing the same issue? is there anything that can be addressed to resolve this issue.
Kind regards
Michael Beardsell

Hey Michael,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry if you've been seeing any troubles with the tools. Unfortunately I'm not 100% certain which tool you're asking about. We have several tools that offer competitive information and none of them are experiencing any issues like this. So I'm afraid I will need to get more information from you.
Can you please provide some screenshots illustrating the troubles you've been having. If you'd rather the URLs remain private I'd be happy to continue this in a support ticket if you email them to Help@moz.com.
Thanks!
Joel.

Is Search Visibility actually weighted by search volume at all? Everyone seems to think so, but that seems completely wrong?
As I've been exploring Moz more, I've been looking into search visibility and what it actually represents. While searching for answers on Moz, I've seen several posts that all seem to think the search volume for keywords matters at all for the search visibility metric, and I'm wondering why anyone thinks that, when everything from Moz seems to indicate otherwise. https://moz.com/help/guides/moz-pro-overview/rankings/search-visibility describes the calculation as taking the CTR for each keyword, based on rank, summing those, and dividing by the number of keywords. This describes a simple, and completely unweighted by search volume, average. This means that if you are tracking 10 keywords, and rank #1 on 5 that have a search volume of 0-10, and are unranked on 5 that have a search volume of 70,801-118,000, that would generate exactly the same search visibility score as if you rank #1 on the 5 high volume, and are unranked on the 5 low volume. The above all makes search visibility look like a much less valuable metric than if it were appropriately weighted by volume, as well as potentially very misleading, since the % relates solely to the number of keywords in your analyzed segment, rather than to the % of search volume that you're obtaining (unless a) all of your keywords are the same rank, or b) all of your keywords have the same volume). Am I missing something, or is everyone just giving Moz way too much credit when it comes to the value of the search visibility metric?

Sudden big drop in ranking - update, tech issue or penalty?
We are managing a website that was previously consistently ranking on P1 or top position on P2 and over the weekend (28th Jan) suddenly dropped to P5. What is the best way of ascertaining whether this was down to an update, a tech issue or a penalty? There are other pages on the site (sub-folders) which are still continuing to rank well on the site for similar kws. Regards,

Hi, You announce a number of keywords sending search visits much larger than what you show in the interface. How do I get the list of the keywords you found?

"Issue: Duplicate Page Content " in Crawl Diagnostics - but sample pages are not related to page indicated with duplicate content
In the crawl diagnostics for my campaign, the duplicate content warnings have been increasing, but when I look at the sample pages that SEOMoz says have duplicate content, they are completely different pages from the page identified. They have different Titles, Meta Descriptions and HTML content and often are different types of pages, i.e. product page appearing as having duplicate content vs. a category page. Anyone know what could be causing this?

I know this sounded stupid, but i have search it too.. How to upload photo?
Well i am aiming at those +10 mozpoints 😮 only 1 thing left that i need to do, that is to upload my photo.. But when i clicked "Edit Photo" , the popup window shows only message and a single "Upload" button, in which case it says "No file image" which is.... of course, because the "Select Image Browser" did not come out at all :((

SEOMoz site crawlers created an issue for our servers
I have set up a number of campaigns with your pro tool. Unfortunately we have 7 sites on our server and our IT dept have said that we had an issue when your site crawlers visited for several sites at the same time - is there any way that I can retain the campaigns but have the sites crawled on request rather than automatically?
