Too Many On-Page Links
-
Ok so I am very new to MOZ, and we have just set up our PRO account and campaign. When we got our crawl results we had 4 pages with "too many on-page links". All of these pages correspond with our blog, which is a wordpress hosted blog that is integrated into our site.
Our site is www.moxicopy.com and the blog is www.moxicopy.com/blog
I am confused on how we have over 100 on page links on these pages, as we have very few links on our blog.
-
Why would the source code take EVERY single keyword (for over 40 different articles), and link them all together..
-
Hey there,
Matt Cutts did a post on this in early 2011 around Google's one-time recommendation that pages should not have more than 100 links on them. He goes some way to debunking this but also notes the need to prioritse which pages you'd like to see recieve the greatest amout of PR, having robust content etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6g5hoBYlf0
Good luck.

i thought with the SEO plugin that the keywords were for each individual blog post? because that list looks like every one put together. How would I access the source code in my wordpress dashboard?
-
Look at your source code, quite a few links.
Delete all keyword tags and you're stuffing like crazy

I would suspect that either/both of your left hand nav bar and footer is being counted as links.
To be honest, I generally wouldn't worry too much about it anyway. As long as your page isn't all links and has a fair amount of content on it, then it shouldn't be a big problem.
You might want to ask yourself if so many links are actually necessary on the page though, especially the bottom ones which should be seen as keyword stuffing (poorly formed URLs as well, yo should use- not _ to separate words!) Google is likely you to punish you at some stage in the future for employing this tactic.
There is quite an interesting article and discussion within the comments section here.
http://moz.com/blog/how-many-links-is-too-many The general point the author makes is "More Links = Less Love per Link." Which I very much believe to be true! -
Dr. Pete wrote a post about this warning at http://moz.com/blog/how-many-links-is-too-many that should help give you some background and help you start on this. After you read that, let us know what other questions you may have.

Is there any decent web browser that still displays the full page title at the top of the page?
I just updated to the latest version of Firefox on my Mac and saw that they now hide most of the page title in the browser tab, like Chrome and Safari. I like to be able to see the full page title at all times (for reasons I'm sure you all understand) and that's pretty much the only reason I stuck with Firefox all these years. Now I'm looking for an alternative – any suggestions?

Why isn't our site being shown on the first page of Google for a query using the exact domain, when its pages are indeed indexed by Google
When I type our domain.com as a query into Google, I only see one of our pages on the homepage, and it's in 4th position. It seems though, that all pages of the site are indexed by google when I type in the query "site:domain.com". There was an issue at the site launch, where the robots.txt file was left active for around two weeks. Would this have been responsible for the fact that another domain ranks #1 when we type in our own domain? It has been around a couple of months now since the site was launched. Thanks in advance.

Why do I hear that it can be a bad thing to have too many content pages?
My site has lots of long tail opportunity and so intention is to produce as much content as possible to target these keywords effectively. However, over the last 6 months I have come across numerous sources suggesting that Google can/does look down on a site having too many content pages. Is there any truth in this? Thanks.

Webpage with around 200+ inter links per page
HI, I have a client that I recently took on and I run a SEOmoz crawl on the website and a minor error was that .. 1. web pages have more than 200+ interlinks, reason for this is becuase the client offers a service to every place in the world and then has links to contact us/about us etc those kind of pages. is this something we need to strongly avoid? 2. The title tags are all over the suggested amount by 1/2 letters. - again is this really bad?

Why does the on page report reports a full path link as Cannibalize link?
On the seomoz on page report i get a cannibalize error. This is due to a link being full path. When i change the link to relative path then there is no Cannibalize error. Should i change the internal links of the site to relative path? I would appreciate your help.

My website is saying I have duplicate page content and page title. How do I fix it?
Hi, I created a website on webstarts.com. After I launched it then ran a scan through SEO it says I have duplicate page content and page title. The 2 pages it is reading are technically the same page. www.mobilemowermedicsinc.com and www.mobilemowermedicsinc.com/index . I am unsure how to get rid of on of these as it keeps saying this is an error in the SEO scan. Could someone please advise me of what to do from here. Thanks!

Dropped rankings due to too many links, help needed
We have just re-designed our site and added a big drop-down navigation menu to help users get straight to the category/sub-category they are looking for, take a look at http://www.discountfiresupplies.co.uk to see what I mean. Since doing so our rankings have dropped which we've been told may be because there are now so many links on (particularly) the home page diluting the rankings of that page. We've been advised that if we hide the drop-down menus using "style='display: none'" until they are required that the search engines will ignore them which we have now done but is this correct or will they still be indexed? And if so do you have any other suggestions? Thanks, Tariq
