Link Metrics API: sort by domain authority not working?
-
I’m trying to make calls to the Link Metrics API (via the Linkscape gem); queries that set sorting to :page_authority work, but queries that set it to :domain_authority return
Unrecognized API method: 'links/page_to_domain.domain_authority'
Unrecognized API method: 'links/page_to_page.domain_authority'
Meanwhile, Open Site Explorer happily sorts by domain authority.
How should I query the Link Metrics API to get results sorted by domain authority?

Hello,
You're correct, currently the API does not offer this call directly. However, we've escalated the question to our engineers who are looking at the issue now. I expect if they do make the change they'll mention it on the devblog: devblog.moz.com

Please let me know whether I’m right in assuming there’s no way to obtain the below results via the API:
http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links.html?group=0&page=1&site=moz.com%2Fblog&sort=domain_authority (page to page, sort by domain authority)
http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/domains.html?page=1&scope=domain_to_page&site=moz.com%2Fblog&sort=domains_linking_domain (domain to page, sort by domains linking domain)
-
I assume this is also why I can’t query links/domain_to_page.domains_linking_page (nor links/domain_to_page.domains_linking_domain), but I can links/domain_to_domain.domains_linking_domain – even though both of the below seem to work:
I.e., there’s no way to get the former link’s results from the API?
-
Thanks for the quick answer (and it does make sense!).
Does this mean that there’s no way to obtain, say, top ten of these results (sorted this way) via the API (other than requesting all of the results and sorting by Domain Authority on the client side)? http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links.html?group=0&page=1&site=moz.com%2Fblog&sort=domain_authority
To the best of my understanding, this is page_to_page sorted by Domain Authority.

Hey there,
Thanks for the question. The Links API's Domain Authority sort is actually working as intended. What's causing the problem is a compatibility between the 'page to xxxx' scope and the domain authority sort.
When running page scopes you are only able to sort by page authority.
I also noticed that that's not very well documented, so I'm going to try and put something together for everyone and put it up on the wiki at http://apiwiki.moz.comI hope that makes sense.
Cheers,
Joel.

Domain Analysis Limit
Hello, even though we are a Moz Pro user we have a 'part-timer' who keeps the client metrics scoreboard up to date. Rather than have him running wild in Moz Pro we bookmarked the 'Domain Analysis' page and he knows that only 3 can be reported on per day. If it was an immediate need then we would use Moz-Pro. The issue was reported to me that he is receiving 'Search Limit reached' and do a moz-pro trial. So, has the 3 per day limit been changed? Thanks, Dave

Moz Crawl Test says pages have no internal links
Greetings, I am working on a website, https://www.nasscoinc.com, and ran a Moz Crawl Test on it. According to the crawl test, only 2 of the website's hundreds of pages are receiving internal links. When I run a similar test on the site using Screaming Frog, I see that most of the pages have at least one internal link. I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before with the crawl test; and there is a way to get the crawl test to see the internal links? Thanks!

Can Moz use canconical links to prevent notices about duplicate content issues?
if so how do we enable this - we've an average size site with a few hundred products but they appear in multiple categories, canonical url points to it's primary category (but a new page exists for each section... so for /cat-a/abc there will be another page cat-b/abc and again but the canonical points to cat-a always for that product) basically I see this kind of duplication error / notice as a false positive... help me

Why do my top linking domains according to Webmaster tools, not even appear in my OSE report?
I know the Google index is obviously a lot larger than the MOZ index...but.... I have 8,000 links from blogspot.com according to Webmaster tools, and just one link according to OSE I have 600 links from an online dictionary according to Webmaster tools, not one is mentioned in my OSE report. I'd go so far as to say most of my top 10 linking domains according to Webmaster Tools, don't even have a single mention in my OSE report. We've been hit hard by Penguin 2.0 and I want to look at our link profile.....it seems OSE may be great for looking at my competitors link profiles, but for my own site it seems to be, well, not very accurate at all! So from a trying to do undo the damage caused by Penguin 2.0 point of view, should I just use webmaster tools and forget about OSE? Thanks!
