Where can I find documentation for the different SEO Pro Tools?
-
I apologize if this has been asked and answered or if the documentation is right in front of my nose, but I can't find it. I'm looking for information that explains what the various tools do and in particular, what each of the fields in the reports mean? For example, what does the "Find Links on this Domain" link mean in a Juicy Linkfinder Report? I know there are lots of resources on SEO and best practices and so on, but wondering if documentation on the specific tools exists. Thanks.

Hi Janice,
We're working on adding more and more documentation to our Help Desk. So you should definitely check that out!

Enjoy!

Wow - thank you Tom. I'll definitely check out these links and just keep reading and learning. Probably the more I know about the SEO concepts, practices and reports, the easier the tools will be to use. Thanks again.

Here you go, I managed to dig up informative blog posts for most of the active tools:

Hi Janice,
I'm not aware of any central location for all the docs. The main page has short descriptions:
Then some tools have their own help section:
http://www.seomoz.org/rank-tracker/help
Others have a longer description on the page:
http://www.seomoz.org/crawl-test
The other good resource are the blog posts where tools are introduced, which are easiest found by googling the toolname, for example:
http://www.seomoz.org/blog/goodbye-page-strength-hello-trifecta-seomozs-latest-analysis-tool
I know you were maybe looking for something longer and more details, but I'm afraid that is all I'm aware of. I think the introductory blog posts are pretty thorough though. Hope this helps!

Source page showsI have 2 h1 tags on my page. I can only find one.
When I grade my page it says I have more than one h1 tag. I view the source page and it shows there are two h1 headings with the same wording. If I delete the one h1 heading I can find, the page source shows I have deleted both of them. I don't know how to get to the other heading to delete it. And I'm off page one of google! Can anybody help? Clay Stephens

Can I create a sterile SEOmoz login for a new SEO guy in my company?
We have just hired a new SEO guy and he wants to know what tools we have for link analysis. I would like for him to be able to use my SEOmoz tools, but i do not want him to have access to payment, billing, changes to the account, etc. Is this currently possible?

SEO Yoast data export
Just thought I would give something back. (Is this the right place!) I use Wordpress with the excellent SEO Yoast plugin. I needed a way of extracting the focus keywords that I have entered onto my pages along with the url for use on the SEOmoz On-page Optimisation tool. So I created GetYoastData which outputs to the browser the required data (and a bit more) that can be saved into an csv (Excel) file. Hope you find it useful - Yes it's not polished and yes it might output a blank line now and again but it's fairly useful. http://deanandrews.uk/get-yoast-seo-data/

SEOMOZ can we trust you?
I was thinking today what are the chances that SEOMOZ can look into my campaigns and see what keywords I am targeting, strategies etc. and then sell that information to others? There has to be some type of clause when you sign up correct? But who knows because I'm not sure. Having Rand and Matt Curts talking via twitter to each other kind of concerns me. Not that I'm worried that Google will know my strategies because we don't do any black-hat linking and anything shady but how much power does SEOMOZ really have and can they leak any information to other companies or Google? Scary stuff that's why I don't put all my eggs into one basket, I spread them out. Thoughts? Thanks in advance - Brett Shaffer

Avoid Keyword Stuffing in Document
I have been implementing changes to our site outlined by the
Moz Pro | | Confused.com
on-page report tool. One of the most common issues it highlighted with our site
was Avoid Keyword
Stuffing in Document. I have started reducing the number of
keywords on each page so it falls under the recommended 15. So far we haven’t
seen any positive effects from this and i am a little concerned we might be
seeing some negative effect (very early days). Has anyone else implemented this change recently and what effect
did it have? Is this recommendation more in preparation to the up and coming
update from Google that will penalise over optimised sites? Any info much appreciated Jos Davies0 -
Pro Report Card Question
I am getting this warning in the Pro Report Card, my site is http://www.myfairytalebooks.com which seems to have Children's and not Childrens in the title. Is it my site that needs to html encode in the title or is Report Card slightly broken? Exact Keyword Usage in Page Title Easy fix <dl> <dt>Page title</dt> <dd>"Personalized Childrens Books Kids Music CDs Baby Books & Gifts."</dd> <dt>Explanation</dt> <dd>Search engines consider the title element to be the most important place to identify keywords and associate the page with a topic and/or set of terms.
