Just Discovered Anchor Text... Should they all be the same?
-
I am seeing our individual site pages (products and other) www.ultimateglobes.com showing up in "Just Discovered" all with the same "Link Anchor" text of "World Globes on Sale at Ultimate Globes". This is also the text associated with our site meta "itemprop name" tag that shows up on every page. Not sure if this is a common result from "Just Discovered" links or if we are somehow improperly using the meta "itemprop name" tag and therefore every page is passing this same result instead of passing on the appropriate page title with the link.
Would appreciate any input.... Thanks

Hey Sean,
This is most likely just related to how Just Discovered Links is interpreting the alt text for those image links. Though the alt text is legitimately the same for all of those image links, the Just Discovered Links tool isn't indexing your pages in the same way a search engine crawler would. Search engine crawlers are much more sophisticated then the Just Discovered Links crawler and they will be able to note the difference between alt and anchor text. Also, I am not an SEO, so take this with a grain of salt, but I don't think that duplicated alt or anchor text is harmful to your SEO, since those image links are all pointing back to the same homepage and your pages themselves don't seem to be duplicates of each other.
I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you need help with anything else.

Thanks Chiaryn!
Am I correct then in my assumption that this is simply how the Just Discovered process works and not something that we should be working to correct for proper indexing of the page? Obviously we would not want the same anchor text for every product page on the site and we do not see google and bing indexing reflecting such issue. Just raises concerns when you see the process picking up the same thing.
Thanks Again! - Sean

Hey Sean,
Great question! I took a look at your Just Discovered Links for www.ultimateglobes.com and it looks like the reason you are seeing "World Globes on Sale at Ultimate Globes" as the anchor text for your just discovered internal links is that the logo in the top left corner of those pages is an image link with "World Globes on Sale at Ultimate Globes" as the alt text (http://screencast.com/t/umbzgOFD). That would be the first link we are finding on those product pages, so the alt text would be pulled in as the anchor text for all of those pages.
I hope this clears things up. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Cant figture out why On-Page Grader is not recognizing the heading tag text
Hi all, I'm using the On-Page Grader tool to optimize some of our pages: https://analytics.moz.com/pro/research/page-grader?keyword=Russian Immigration Lawyers in Sacramento&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.russianlawyers.us%2Fus%2Fcalifornia%2Fsacramento-immigration One of the suggestions is "Optimal Use of Keywords in Header Tags". They keyword is "Russian Immigration Lawyers in Sacramento" and we do have it in an tag on the page (located in the right sidebar). The tool doesnt seem to catch that though. Can someone help me please? Thanks

I'm checking keyword difficulty for two different sites. Would love to view the results by site instead of just one large list. Is that possible? Or would it just be easier to keep the lists separate in Excel and just import when I want an updated report?
I have keyword lists for two sites. Is there a way to label them in the keyword difficulty tool (List A, List B) so I can just view results for a particular site? Or do I need to run the report with List A, export results, delete those keywords, then run the report for List B?

Reporting for a US subfolder: New campaign or just add US kw & engines to existing
Hi My UK based client is about to target the USA via a domain.com/US/ subfolder For reporting purposes do you (either Moz staff or Mozzers with experience or pref both) recommend setting up a new campaign or simply adding US engines and KW to existing campaign ? In regard to all other reporting options as well so not just keyword rankings All Best Dan
