Setting title tag with javascript/jquery

Hi there,
I'm looking for some advice. I've recently implemented a few jQuery functions which gets specific content from the page and then sets the title and description.
See working example here.
It seems to work fine but my question I have is whether Google bots can read it and whether it might actually hinder my SEO efforts?
Any advice would be really appreciated!

I don't think your javascript usage is helping you. I am not sure as to why you would nofollow something you sought to improve for SEO.
As to speed, you have more issues than your provider's server. Download Google Insights and run the page speed tool. You will see what I mean.

The main reason for changing the title/description tags with javascript was to make the pages more indexable (and readable on google). Would you say these pages will provide any SEO benefits to the rest of the website? Or would it be better to set a nofollow tag?
I will have a look into speeding up the property pages however it's most likely because the information is being rendered on our software providers server which at the same time is probably handling 1000's of other requests aswell

Unfortunately I cannot do this in PHP as the property details are rendered using XML and I don't have access to the files as it's saved on our software providers server (they have also said they would not know how to implement this) - I also have little to no experience with XML so that's why I thought i'd try javascript.

I agree with Jon,
Also, your page is loading quite slowly when I use Google Pagespeed insights. You might want to run it on the site and just look at what it is suggesting.

No, Google won't see it - you're meant to make your site accessible to those with JS turned off. Check using GWT 'fetch as Google'.
You could, however, do this with PHP.

Google has deindexed a page it thinks is set to 'noindex', but is in fact still set to 'index'
A page on our WordPress powered website has had an error message thrown up in GSC to say it is included in the sitemap but set to 'noindex'. The page has also been removed from Google's search results. Page is https://www.onlinemortgageadvisor.co.uk/bad-credit-mortgages/how-to-get-a-mortgage-with-bad-credit/ Looking at the page code, plus using Screaming Frog and Ahrefs crawlers, the page is very clearly still set to 'index'. The SEO plugin we use has not been changed to 'noindex' the page. I have asked for it to be reindexed via GSC but I'm concerned why Google thinks this page was asked to be noindexed. Can anyone help with this one? Has anyone seen this before, been hit with this recently, got any advice...?

Dynamically Inserting Noindex With Javascript
Hello, I have a broken plugin creating hundreds of WP-Content directory pages being indexed by Google. I can not access the source code of these pages to add a noindex to them. The page URL's all have the plugin name within them. In order to resolve the issue, I wrote a solution with javascript to dynamically add in a noindex tag to any URL containing the plugin name. Would this noindex be respected by Google and is there a way to immediately check that it is respected? Currently, I can not delete the plugin due to issues with it's php. URL Structure On Site - Currently it's domain/product-name NOT domain/category/product name is this bad?
I have a eCommerce site and the site structure is domain/product-name rather than domain/product-category/product-name Do you think this will have a negative impact SEO Wise? I have seen that some of my individual product pages do get better rankings than my categories.

Using a div for an anchor I get but adding a title tag to the div? I never seen that before. Title tags on anchors, yes, using images in divs as background and then adding a title??? Does anyone have any experience with a code like this and if you do how does this impact rankings? Does it impact rankings at all and does anybody know of any correlation between the two? Do I need to add canonical link tags to pages that I promote & track w/ UTM tags?
New to SEOmoz, loving it so far. I promote content on my site a lot and am diligent about using UTM tags to track conversions & attribute data properly. I was reading earlier about the use of link rel=canonical in the case of duplicate page content and can't find a conclusive answer whether or not I need to add the canonical tag to these pages. Do I need the canonical tag in this case? If so, can the canonical tag live in the HEAD section of the original / base page itself as well as any other URLs that call that content (that have UTM tags, etc)? Thank you.

Google Off/On Tags
I came across this article about telling google not to crawl a portion of a webpage, but I never hear anyone in the SEO community talk about them. http://perishablepress.com/press/2009/08/23/tell-google-to-not-index-certain-parts-of-your-page/ Does anyone use these and find them to be effective? If not, how do you suggest noindexing/canonicalizing a portion of a page to avoid duplicate content that shows up on multiple pages?
