Why still the moz index showing "Next Update on August 26, 2013"?
-
I have been waiting to see the updated authority metrics from Opensiteexplorer.org.
But still it is showing old data. and showing "next index update: August 26, 2013" as the date is 27th August today.
Is there any delay in update?
-
And we've updated! Thanks again for your patience everyone.

Last time this happened, we went about 2 months without an update. I remember because I had been recommending SEOMoz memberships to a lot of my clients who wanted more in-depth info about their links & competitors that they could take with them when they no longer need me. I had some 'splaining to do when some of them discovered one of the key features they were paying for wasn't there. When MozScape did finally update, it was indeed much better than before. So I am very curious to see if this update with that "new section of the internet that we never crawled before" closes the gap between some of the other link monitors (that do have way too many of the garbage links in their indexes).

It looks like we will be releasing the index this afternoon. We'll keep you posted!
-
Any update yet?
-
We apologize for the delay. We encountered some unexpected difficulties, but we hope to be able to release this index in the next day. We will know more in the next 3-4 hours, and I will update this post as I have more information.

The last Mozscape index update was 7/11/2013. In August, they put this up:
"Dreadfully sorry, but we've decided to not release our most recent Mozscape Index, since it was not up to our quality standards which we measure with index correlations.
Why did this happen?
Our scheduling algorithm always tries to add new URLs to the schedule to make sure we expand our coverage over time. Unfortunately it seems to have hit a new section of the internet that we never crawled before. This resulted in a huge set of new URLs that seem to be of low quality, and the this has skewed the rankings slightly (a little more than we are comfortable with). Large domains seemed to be most impacted and showed a marked decrease in external links.
What do we plan to do now?
We are attacking this from multiple angles:
- We are removing the new "section" and emphasizing the crawl of high-quality domains.
- We've added additional monitoring to alert the BigData team when the schedule becomes imbalanced and does not display its normal characteristics.
- We moved a quality check to earlier in the index generation cycle so we can discover problems quicker.
- Finally, we created a new schedule of high quality and are re-crawling.
When can you anticipate the next index release?
August 26, 2013"

However the Just-Discovered Links beta is working fine. On the other hand, The G+, FB Sharing counts been increased rather than authority metrics.

Also wondering this myself. Has there even been an update in awhile? My site that has been up since April is still showing 3 backlinks while we have a lot more than that..

How can a page have high Google/ organic traffic but show no ranking keywords in Moz?
We have a page on our website with a higher than average number of pageviews, 85% of which came from Google organic search. When I research this page by entering the URL into the "exact page" keyword research tool, Moz says it has no ranking keywords. How can a page be earning organic traffic without ranking for any keywords?

How is the Moz keyword limit for each plan determined?
I'm sure it's explained somewhere in here but I haven't found it yet so hoping someone can help: I'm on the Pro Basic plan, which allows me 300 keywords. How is the 300 keywords counted? For example, if I've uploaded 100 keywords in the Keyword Difficulty tool, and am also Rank Tracking an additional 75 keywords for a client, is that 75 kw's, 100 kw's, or 175 kw's? Put another way, if I hypothetically do rank tracking for 300 keywords, does that mean I'm not able to enter additional keywords in the Keyword Difficulty tool without deleting some of the kw's from existing accounts? Thanks for the help!

"WWW." versus Non - "www."
Our web developer recently changed our preferred domain from "www.thinkbiglearnsmart.com" to "thinkbiglearnsmart.com" so when I check the authority of the "www." it is higher than the "thinkbiglearnsmart.com." do you have any insight onto if we should just make our preferred URL "www." because that's how it was for years? Is there a way just to merge the two back together so it is not sort of having different information for the same site? Thank you!

Why moz does not update actual keyword possition
I managed to get first place on google by keyword: vervo.lv kravu pārvadājumi in google.lv (it is in first place all this week) But in moz reports it shows just second position? I added so far about 100 keywords to monitor so if it shows incorrect this one how can i trust to other keyword results. Report says it updated on 3. september and it already was in first place. I really need to monitor keywords but if it does not show actual positions it is useless.

Can the Moz tool identify variations of a Chinese language branded keyword?
We've recently started a trial of the Moz Pro service and are tracking a selection of keywords. Our primary band / product name is 功夫英语(Kungfu English), so we've set a rule that any keywords containing those four Chinese characters (功夫英语) should be marked as a branded keyword. However, in the "Non-Paid Keywords Sending Search Visits" section of our traffic report, we see a few variations on our brand name that are not being marked as branded keywords. (See attached Images). Based on our rules, shouldn't these variations also be marked as branded keywords without our needing to manually add them as such? Or have I misunderstood the intent of this rule? For the English text, the brand rule about words containing "kungfuenglish" seems to have resulted in all of "www.kungfuenglish.com", "http://www.kungfuenglish.com", and kungfuenglish being labelled as branded keywords. However, I'm not seeing the same sort of result with variations on the Chinese keyword, 功夫英语. KedTi1D.png z5bcUIt.png
