Can search engines penalize my site if I block IPs from some countries?
-
I have spotted that some countries in South America generate lot's of traffic on my site and I don't want to sell my service there. Can I be penalized for blocking IPs from certain counties?
Thanks!
-
Nope, you are not targeting that region and you don't care about localised results in south america so don't worry about it. The search engine would never know as long as you don't block one of their crawlers anyhow so... block away.

Search Console has found over 18k 404 errors in my site, should I redirect?
most of them where old URLs pointed from a really old domain, that we have just shutten down. If the pages didn't receive any traffic, should we redirect? If I follow this https://moz.com/learn/seo/http-status-codes we shouldn't

Blocked URL parameters can still be crawled and indexed by google?
Hy guys, I have two questions and one might be a dumb question but there it goes. I just want to be sure that I understand: IF I tell webmaster tools to ignore an URL Parameter, will google still index and rank my url? IS it ok if I don't append in the url structure the brand filter?, will I still rank for that brand? Thanks, PS: ok 3 questions :)...

While SEOMoz currently can tell us the number of linking c-blocks, can SEOMoz tell us what the specific c-blocks are?
I know it is important to have a diverse set of c-blocks, but I don't know how it is possible to have a diverse set if I can't find out what the c-blocks are in the first place. Also, is there a standard for domain linking c-blocks? For instance, I'm not sure if a certain amount is considered "average" or "above-average."

Unable to find why my site was penalized since 24th April
I'm into the 1 month free trail of pro membership for my niche site http://www.creditcardpaymentgateways.in. The traffic dropped from around 250 to 50 on April, 24th but as of now it has recovered some to 100. This site has original content and not a spammy site. Out of all the metrics I see in my PRO Dashboard I'm not at all able to figure out the reason of being penalized. After this penalty I've worked on to reduced the "payment gateway" keyword density from 7-9% to below 5%. Today I notice some rankings upgrade. Overall Seomoz pro membership is useful for very large sites who have dedicated teams to monitor SEO but for me I'm trying to figure out what to do with all those stats.

What tool can i use to get the true speed of my site
hi, i am trying to get the true speed of my site. i want to know how fast www.in2town.co.uk is but the tools that i am using are giving me different readings. http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/DkHoNWmZh/www.in2town.co.uk says the speed is 1.03s http://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.in2town.co.uk/i4EMDk34 says my speed is 2.25s and http://www.vertain.com/m.q?req=cstr&reqid=dAv79lt8 says it is 4.36s so as you can see i am confused. Why are old versions of images still showing for my site in Google Image Search?
I have a number of images on my website with a watermark. We changed the watermark (on all of our images) in May, but when I search for my site getmecooking in Google Image Search, it still shows the old watermark (the old one is grey, the new one is orange). Is Google not updating the images its search results because they are cached in Google? Or because it is ignoring my images, having downloaded them once? Should we be giving our images a version number (at the end of the file name)? Our website cache is set to 7 days, so that's not the issue. Thanks.
