Site audit and SEO consultation ...who do you recommend?
-
I am looking to have an SEO specialist to audit and do consultation on one of my sites. This website never received a penalty from Google but was hit algorithmically and I need to bring it back up strong on the serps.
Who do you recommend from the "recommended list" from MOZ?
Cheers

eyepaq,
Thanks a lot for your time on studying my site and for your input on this matter.
I have never received a message from Google about spam issues on this site and I just checked the "manual" section and it's empty. I'm afraid it could have been hacked as you stated above, I will need to audit all my link profile.
Cheers

Interesting enough is that your search engine visibility dropped (actually tanked) between 15 and 29 of April 2012.
http://screencast.com/t/eppZoo73pp
Within this timetable there were several major google updates:
Panda 3.5 (#13) — April 19, 2012
Penguin — April 24, 2012
Panda 3.6 (#14) — April 27, 2012
Although the last one is unlikely to be the cause.
You will need to find the exact cause in order to push the right medicine
Overall the site dosen't look bad and there are no visible issues that can trigger something else. I would first have a look in Web Master Tools under Search Traffic -> Manual Action  - just to make sure you are clear of those... If there is something there you will need to tackle that first.
Based on your link profile the site dosen't look like a Penguin candidate. However Penguin is not only about links. Make sure you are not "hacked". To be sure you are not a Penguin candidate just assign someone in your company - an intern maybe - to dl the links from WMT and have a split those in "make sense" and "dosen't make sense" based on the domain / page area and so on. Also have a list with all anchor texts to make sure you are not over optimized.
Om a first look your link profile is not the cleanest of them all but not really  a penguin candidate. if you know you are guilty of some past link building campaign - you should start with those links as if some of those networks got "cut" you might be collateral damage - even if you are guilty of building those links so in fact you are not collateral damage.. just damage
I do hope is not penguin as it's hard to recover.
On the Panda side - you will need to clean the site - keep only the content that matter. Get rid of any "support" content and also get rid of content that is just sitting in google's index with no impressions, no clicks, no nothing. Look at CTR really close and try to improve that - by editing descriptions, title tags, adding microdata if possibile.
Hope it helps as an overview and a place to start.

eyepaq,
Thanks for the tip, I am leaving some information plus the URL for anybody to comment and advice on it but if any of you guys know of a good SEO company please share.
URL: www.woodlandsnewhomes.com
Look at image attached, it is a screenshot from Google Analytics, it took a hit on July 5, 2012 and since then traffic dropped by 54%.
This site was getting 700 to 800 organic visits per day and on July 5, 2012 dropped to 419 but kept dropping and now the site averages 220 to 300 visits per day.
Cheers

Better to post the URL here and you'll get advice for free from several SEOs and you can compare
For algo based filters there is usually a fast fix and no need for a long expensive audit.
You can also try the web master central and also get advice from professional SEOs and even people from Google (especially since you have an algo filter.
Cheers !

Old site penalised, we moved: Shall we cut loose from the old site. It's curently 301 to new site.
Hi, We had a site with many bad links pointing to it (.co.uk). It was knocked from the SERPS. We tried to manually ask webmasters to remove links. Then submitted a Disavow and a recon request. We have since moved the site to a new URL (.com) about a year ago. As the company needed it's customer to find them still. We 301 redirected the .co.uk to the .com There are still lots of bad links pointing to the .co.uk. The questions are: #1 Do we stop the 301 redirect from .co.uk to .com now? The .co.uk is not showing in the rankings. We could have a basic holding page on the .co.uk with 'we have moved' (No link). Or just switch it off. #2 If we keep the .co.uk 301 to the .com, shall we upload disavow to .com webmasters tools or .co.uk webmasters tools. I ask this because someone else had uploaded the .co.uk's disavow list of spam links to the .com webmasters tools. Is this bad? Thanks in advance for any advise or insight!

Penguin recovery, no manual action. Are our EMD sites killing our brand site?
Hi guys, Our brand site (http://urban3d.net) has been seeing steady decline due to algorithm updates for the past two years. Our previous SEO company engaged in some black-hat link building which has hurt us very badly. Â We have recently re-launched the site, with better design, better content, and completed a disavow of hundreds of bad links. The site is technically indexed, but is still nowhere in the SERPs after months of work to recover it by our internal marketing team. The last SEO company also told us to build EMD sites for our core services, which we did: http://3dvisualisation.co.uk/ http://propertybrochure.com/ http://kitchencgi.com/ My question is - could these EMD sites now hurting us even further and stopping our main brand site from ranking? Our plan is to rescue our brand site, with a view to retiring these outlier sites. However, with no progress on the brand site, we can't afford to remove these site (which are ranking). It seems a bit chicken and egg. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Aidan, Urban 3D

2 - We have 10,000 articles - unique content (500-1500 words)
3 - the remaining are automated content, however, they are also unique with data (numbers, figure) We are going to launch it in 2 weeks, and intend to do the following things: Stage 1: first 2 months - only post 10,000 articles with unique content, NO using automated ones.
Link building: get 5-10 authority links pointing to it, either article writings or link pages (authority links Yahoo directory/Dmoz) Stage 2: month 3 to 6: gradually put the automated content online while still posting unique and well written articles.
Link building: Start building links with PR websites, article submission. Do you think there are any problems with this plan? and if 5-10 links can improve our site ranking, given it has a lot of unique content? Thank you very much. BR/Tran1 -
How come this site does so well?
Hi Guys, It's bugging the crap out of me why this site does so well http://www.stagedinburgh.com/ when I look at it's link profile its so weak and terrible plus many links comes from  the sites they own. Somehow the site out ranks many sites for search terms like edinburgh stag party, edinburgh stag do, edinburgh stag weekends.  Am I missing something?  They seem to only have links from 13 domains and they aint great. What am I missing?

Need help/insights. Site SEO = OK, Authority BLs = OK, Rank page #1\. How to reach pos #1?
Hi there! Some doubts are confusing my head and need some assistence from you to get on the right track. I'll explain my situation and want to hear from you what do you really recommend for med/long term permanent results. 1 - I have a PR2 (.com.br) domain; 2 - I'm talking about little/med competition micro-niche keywords; 3 - I got all pages I want to, indexed (I have a well SEO constructed website with internal link building); 4 - If a keyword has average competition, I'll already start ranking in page #3 on the SERP's; For a few low competition keywords I start on page #1; 5 - I do a little whitehat link building, 1 or 2 backlinks on authority sites and then like 15 days later I came to page #1, generally on position 9/10; And then I got stucked 🙂 No more authority sites where I can get backlinks... I do some posts on the company twitter/facebook page's, but they are no follow, so I don't really now if this can help. (never see a SERP result). I did some "blackhat" stuff to see if it really work: I can say for sure the "profile backlinks" that we can buy from some sites doesn't work (maybe it's just for me). I can't see it on webmaster tool and neither my ranks changed since I bought a pack of 100 links (the links are working, I see it one by one) to test. Maybe the problem is about the domains, cause my site is .com.br and I'm buying .com profile links. I guess google understand backlinks from .com.br more valuable for my sites. Back to whitehat: I wrote some articles and posted it the right way, of course on .com.br articles sites, got it indexed and can see the backlink on webmaster tool, but no change on SERP's. (maybe this can be a long term result and I'm not seeing it yet). I'm really "scratching my hand" to do some blackhat stuff, but I don't want to lose what I already have done... I heard a lot about scrapebox but doesn't fell confortable to spam as hell a lot of blogs. I really want long term permanent results (my sites are totally whitehat/corporate sites). Can you expert guys give me some point to where I need to "walk" now to improve the SERP's? I never reached top #1 and want to try to rank at least one time to understand how this can be made... I'm thinking now to pay someone to rewrite 20 copies of an article and up it on some sites, to see if 20 can improve something. But still no confident, because it will cost like $100 for a good writer do it for me on my language. Maybe I can do better things with 100 bucks. I guess I did the path right: Internal SEO -> got indexed -> backlinking from authorities -> new articles backlinks to me (is it ok at this position or no?) -> (what next ?) I know SEO is a hard/never ending work, but what I'm trying to get cleaned on my head is the path of the work (if a right path really exists). Every word will be apreciated. What do you can suggest to me to try now? (please give me a hint to see SERP's results 🙂 if I feel that something worked, no matter how it can cost to me, but I'll pay for the work happily) Sorry if I'm a little confusing, english isnt' my first language. Thanks.
