Anyone know if optimal Twitter use frequency for promoting a keyword i.e how much is too much
-
Have a Twitter account and theres much confusion over Twitters use of planting keywords into posts and have some SEO benefit from this.
Wondering if anyone has come accross an effective use of promoting keyterms on by twitter posting and how often is deemed okay?
Generally see some twitter users who are obvioulsy promoting keyterms for their buisness or company who put in as much as five to ten posts in any one day for the same keyword, or keyphrase. while this looks spammy surely this is liable to be flagged by the search engines?
Appreciate any insights on this.

The spam mindset works on the basis that enough will get through to make it worthwhile. I don't get it either...
FWIW, we're seeing increasing Twitter traffic to PRNewswire.com and we're experimenting with a mix of accounts. he full list is here http://www.prnewswire.com/contact-us/prnewswire-on-twitter/
There's also good case study on the SEO value of tweets here http://www.seomoz.org/blog/the-tweet-effect-how-twitter-affects-rankings-12781
Good luck

Thank you for the adivce Rod. Though cant help but wonder how those who do post those numerous keyterm riddled posts in a day get on. Certainly they appear irritating, I'm sure, to most prospective followers but they continue to do it. Ive seen the automated kind (ugh the worst) and the spammy feeds. surely common sense would dicate that they should cease if theres no benefit? yet they continue, curiously why? I'm with you on the Human engagement value, but curiosity remains. Much appreciate your reply.

Keep it 'human' would be my advice. Search engines are looking for automated or spammy Twitter feeds and have said they give more weight to real people tweeting or retweeting over bots. So it's fine to do a few duplicate tweets, but don't just broadcast, be on hand to respond or thank people for their retweets.

Hi Eric, Much appreciate your reply, This is something that has been a source of uncertainty for some time.
Theres a new Twitter (follow/like) button which will be looking to implement as well as the new Google + 1 (although the code page reference for the button I received in a notification alert email didn't access the page). These should help a little too.

Don't be concerned with how often your account/s should tweet specific keywords and/or custom shortened URLs. Button up your on page factors first. Then, figure out how to let people know about your awesome pages and how to motivate them to share, and link, to them.
You can rest assured that having 5 or 10 small, but topically focused, Twitter accounts tweet your stuff once is more influential as far as social signals go than having your 1 large account tweet your own stuff 5 or 10 times.

Will using display:none; to hide images hurt SEO?
A popular trend among bloggers right now is to hide their long images for social media (Pinterest) using the code. This makes it so that when a reader clicks the Pin it browser button, the long image still shows up but is not displayed inside their post. Also note that the alt description for Pinterest marketers are always keyword rich, board line keyword stuffed. I've read this article from Google on hiding text and images https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/66353?hl=en but not sure if this practice fits inside that scope. What are your thoughts? Will this hurt SEO?

Best Way to Promote Self Hosted Videos?
We are soon to launch 25 short videos on one of our websites. They are a little bit different and I think they have a particularly good chance of going viral. The videos will be scattered over the website on our actual sales pages (not tucked away on our blog). We are hoping (expecting) that customers will click on them and subsequently share them mainly due to the surprise / fun factor. I've got a lot of experience promoting our (linkbait) blog posts which usually get between 10,000 and 100,000 hits via social media blogs, however, I have no experience promoting video. We will do the offsite social blog promotions as normal, however, my two main concerns are: 1. I'm unsure how best to use the social buttons (facebook like/share tweet and G+). As I understand it (I could very much be wrong), I can either embed the social buttons on the videos so that they are easily shared across facebook etc... or I can make the the social button make the user 'Like' / 'Share' the page that the video is on. I assume that the latter option is better for website promotion but maybe not good for people sharing the video on Facebook etc. some of the videos do not have pride of place on our pages. An explanation or examples on the best option would be appreciated. 2. Should we hold off from putting the videos on YouTube until the website has earned some of the juice first? Or are we missing out on and opportunity by not offering all avenues at once? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated too! They will hopefully be up and running by the end of the month so I'll come back and let you know how it went. Thank you for your time guys and gals! Richard (Moz Customer 2391745) PS. If it is of interest we are using JW Player

On the new Google+ Local pages, I was wondering if anyone knew how to add the "Follow" button to lead to the company Google+ profile.
I saw a video on an Internet marketing blog that showed a company's Google+ Local page with a "Follow" button on it so people could follow their company Google+ profile.

How much power does using keywords on Facebook and Twitter have from an SEO perspective?
Hi all, When we add a new Christmas party package onto our website I always tweet about it with a link to the party page, utilizing a tweet such as : "New Manchester Christmas parties", followed by the link. How much power (if any) does utilizing the key phrase Manchester Christmas parties have on SEO for that page? Bearing in mind the link is shortened and doesn't mention the keywords anywhere in it, they are only present in the tweet itself. Similarly, on our company Facebook page I always post a link with a title such as "check out our new Manchester Christmas parties". Does this have much SEO benefit for the page I'm directing the link to? Many thanks!!

I was just wondering why Facebook and now Twitter have added "#!" into the url structure? Does this mean we should link to a twitter profile like this - twitter.com/profile - anymore? Should we now be linking like this: twitter.com/#!/kevinbarnes Kevin
