Big Jump in Domain Rank
-
We have just seen a big jump in domain rank (35 - 40) since the last update, this is also the case with the other sites we are tracking through Campaign Manager.
Can anyone give me an idea what has caused this?

This is why I love Moz, ask a question and there is always one or two people there to help.
Thanks

I agree with Schwaab that there was something wrong with the previous update (or it was just run differently).
All my competitors and I dropped in DA after the previous update, but after the most recent update it seems to have fixed itself (3 points down, then 3 points back up).

I believe Moz had some issues with their linkscape index sometime over the past few months. The metrics for the last update were put together using a smaller sample size of links, meaning the numbers were down across the board for most sites. The problems were corrected and now the metrics are being calculated using a larger sample size of links, meaning the metrics went back up.

Why are Internal, nofollowed links good for Domain Authority?
I always thought that internal links should be 'followed' to preserve link-juice.

I've just been checking my Domain Authority Links overview, and the competitor with the most no-follow internal links has been rewarded with a higher Moz DA score.
Can anyone explain why this would be the case? JRJ4Dwn1 -
Will Removing or Disavowing Toxic Links Improve MOZ Domain Authority?
The vast majority of the 140 domains that link to our website are very low quality directories or and other toxic links. Only about 20-30 domains are not toxic (according to Link Research Tools confirmed by out manual inspection of these links). Would removing some of these links improve of MOZ Domain Rank? What if we cannot remove them, can NOZ detect a disavow file? In general would improving the ratio between good quality and poor quality links improve domain authority? Thanks,

Keyword Explorer: Search by Domain Not Working?
We have tried Keyword Explorer for several websites today using the domain, subdomain and exact page option. None of these are returning keyword results. Is the tool currently broken? As a test we tried Amazon.com, see screenshot: JbWsaLi.png

Esteemed Marketers of the Moz community, We'd like to track a domain that has a separate web presence for specific locations. In other words, the business has multiple locations in NJ and one in NYC. Any tips and tricks to track how we're doing in the rankings for both NJ and NY? Thanks Much, Paul

Rank Checker Replacement Suggestions?
We have used SEObook’s Rank Checker Firefox Plug-in when running one off rank reports. Do you have any suggestions for a replacement (either free or paid) that would not run on our own IP? Some hosted type solution. Again this is for one off rank reports for sets of key phrases. NOT ongoing week to week or day to day rank tracking.
