Why is my comp still beating me??
-
Hey Friends,
I have been doing some analyzing in opensiteexplorer and attached below is an image showing my url (5th position) and my competitors (1st position). Any ideas as to WHY they are still beating me in rankings? I'm sure there could be a number of reasons but the numbers are staggering.
Thanks

Um Thanks.... I'm a little confused though. Are you saying Garrett can't be beaten?
-
You are being beaten because your competitor is garrett

Jonathan is right! The factors you have displayed in your image are important but not the only factors that Google use when ranking a site in search engines. I think you should also look in to on-page optimization like title, metas, internal linking, content quality, technical issues and more.
I recently compiled a long SEO audit checklist (http://www.setalks.com/complete-seo-audit-checklist/) just go through it and see what other areas of your competitor are powerful as compare to yours!
Hope this helps!

I agree with Jonathan. I would also look at the quality of links as all links are not the same. You may want to use Spyfu recon files to look at the specific content your competitor is ranking on.

Page authority is not the only factor that google takes into account. For instance compare the root domains and you will see that your competitor has a much high domain authority, as well as considerably more backlinks.
I am seeing some high rankings lately from sites that have predominately branded root domain links with high domain authority, even if they have less links to the keyword pages than their competitors.
In addition there are other factors that won't be taken into account in the Moz stats, such as the freshness factor (new content etc), site speed, onpage seo etc.

Does MOZ still do deep crawls of the website?
In the past you could get MOZ to crawl your website, now I don't see this option, no do I see a crawl at the beginning of the month. Has this change? I saw this as a useful feature.

Tips on speeding up disavow process and still doing it right
Hello, I'm doing a 10-step disavow check using this article, this word document, and this corresponding spreadsheet template. Doing a disavow for a non-manual penguin penalty (paid links, doorway sites) It's taking a long time. Can you give me some pointers of how to speed things up? I want to do it right but I need to know how I can do it faster. Like tricks on domains to automatically disavow, what not to check, whatever tips you have. I'm using Cognitive SEO and manual checking. I'd like to avoid pricy tools. I'm on a mac. Thanks!

Redirected pages still sending response code 200
SEO Moz tool reports missing title tags on all the links that have been redirected. E.g. this page: http://www.imoney.my/ms/personal-loan When I check the response code on the page with redirect checker it shows code 200 (page exists). Has it happened to anyone else? How can a redirected page send a 200 code?

How can a site not indexed on google still have 40+ Page Authority on OpenSiteExplorer?
Hey guys, I was revisiting the backlinks to my site and found a few that were not indexed on Google anymore. I confirmed this by typing site:"SiteAddress" in google and it retuned 0 result. Yet when i searched the same site on OSE (OpenSiteExplorer) yielded me a PA of over 40. I used to research sites on OSE to see if they are worth pursuing for a backlink but i am second guessing this because of this recent finding. Can someone please shed some light on this? Thanks!

As the title states I started a crawl over 2 weeks ago now and it still hasn't completed. Does anyone know why this could be? Thanks

SEOMoz Pro still hasn't crawled 10k pages for one campaign
I looked for a question in the forum already for this but couldn't find anything. Perhaps I am using the wrong keywords, so I apologize if this is a duplicate. I recently signed up with SEOMoz Pro and added two campaigns. For one campaign, 10,000 pages were crawled. For the other campaign, only about 300. It's been 2 weeks since I created the campaigns. Is there a way to force a crawl of the site associated with the second campaign?
