How many different webmasters should I maintain for educational based website for different search engines ??
-
Hi,
I am working on an educational website that cater to different geographical region. My query is that how many different webmaster should I maintain. What is general trend. Is Google and Bing enough. Will this process increase by PR/DA ?
-
Typically you will have your bases covered by using both Google Webmaster Tools and Bing Webmaster Tools. They both report and value things differently, so you should (in my opinion) monitor both of them.
The only other reason I can think of using another webmaster tools suite would be if the geographical regions you are targeting prefer different search engines. If that is the case, then I would suggest using that search engine's webmaster tools as well.
You will not increase your PR or DA by simply signing up for these tools. You could potentially increase your rankings if you use these webmaster tools to fix errors that are reported, which could possibly increase your rankings (depending on how many errors you have... I have heard that Bing is more concerned with errors than Google).
Hope this helps.
Mike

Best Educational track for internet marketing
My son has a degree in Marine Bio. Has developed a keen interest in SEO and internet marketing. He wants to make a career change. He does not want to go back for a 4 year degree in computer science. Are there graduate programs/degrees that will admit someone with a biological science degree? He wants to have a career in Internet marketing.

Are large property portals going to continue to dominate Google's search results?
We are having a discussion (potential argument) in our office around whether large portals (namely property portals) have longevity in Google's search. Argument 1:
Industry News | | NeilPursey
Google's rise in local search and rewarding strong brand names rather than keyword driven domain names will devalue property portals with keyword rich domain names. Property portals are essentially duplicating content on smaller individually owned property websites, therefore in time Google will devalue property portals. **Argument 2: **
Property portals have more property stock listed on their websites so therefore Google will reward them by ranking these websites higher than the smaller real estate agencies with niche stock in their areas that they operate in. The property portals that already are already in a dominate position already carry authority and their own sense of branding, therefore it's difficult for Google to ignore them. If we assume that Google is looking into user behaviour as a ranking factor, then this will help portals as they have more stock which means higher engagement on the website. I'd love to read the moz community thoughts and opinions on this. I reckon it's a worthy debate..0 -
Penguin 2.0 Update - Just Hit - Google Messes up again, can anyone on SEOMOZ please tell me why or how some of these websites are ranking?
I am getting a bit tired now writing all of this so please excuse grammar and spelling mistakes, I wanted to post this up quickly tonight so I could possibly get some feedback by morning. So I feel I figured out some of the new update that just hit and I am sure the update will continue to keep coming and rankings will most likely change for a while, but I do have a few questions in the mean time if they stay. Please look below, why would some of those sites be ranking? Some sites utilize no onpage SEO, some no backlinks, one of the sites is a single page site and every page is a broken link even the contact us page and it's rank 1..... I am not 100% sure that Google got this one right. I see many instances below where other sites are much higher quality and have more authority. It's as if Google took terrible sites and said here is a site for you, now deal with it and I hope it works out at the top. I do see several sites that belong on the first page, but I see others that are very questionable. This is how the following is written below. Before the url is the anchor text density % for the site. This indicates the percentage of the amount of times the anchor text was backlined versus other anchor texts they used. Issues with the sites. Most of these sites don't utilize onpage SEO and it's clearly not a factor for onpage density purposes, there is a site with 37% keyword density on it. Some sites even have broken links. Please note: I already know that there is a lot of data that is analyzed to determine rankings more than this, but PA/DA is suppose to be a major factor according to everyone that believes in SEOMOZ.org. So I am taking in account for many of those factors being calculated due to this. These are just some random keywords I picked, because I know you need to analyze other SEO firms after and update to figure out what lasted and what didn't. All of my sites lasted due to ethical tactics, but I had some rankings move down and others go up, very odd. The onpage SEO is sloppy and the writing looks forced. Why is this even ranking? The site also looks low quality. The density is higher than SEOMOZ even and it has less words. Convert Oganic ranking into Local Search Results
Hi, Right now, my website appears in top 5 results in organic SERPs, but I noticed that my business has gradually started going down, as my local results have been replaced by organic search results. Initially I used to rank in local results, but now, I appear in organic results so the no. of calls/day have decreased significantly. Now, I again want to appear in local search results instead of organic results. Please advice what should I do to remove my listing from organic search results and improve position in local search results PFA the screenshots for both the results for your better understanding. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, qHKAt.png 0cPOp.png

Is their value in building your own website network?
--- I am moving this into open discussion to see if I can get a few more responses, I am very curious if anyone has experience in this area --- Hello, As a resource for my link building strategies I have often wondered if building my own 'web network' of sites would prove to be valuable in link building. For example, if I were targeting the travel industry (or insert a niche here) and created 30 websites on various related topics in the industry, would using outbound links from those sites to other relevant websites help increase domain authority? Obviously, I would need to avoid creating unusable sites with boilerplate content just for the sole purpose of linking. I am envisioning working websites/blogs that would be valuable on their own. Some thoughts and questions that have crossed my mind: If these sites are all hosted on the same server, would the link exchange end up in penalization in the SERPs? Being that the sites are designed to be quality sites on their own, can they share links between themselves if the links are relevant? This is already being done across the web, but what makes one network valuable and 'quality' vs another Being a web dev / host as well as SEO guy I would like to utilize those resources to create a network that is of quality and of value, but am not sure about things appearing 'unnatural'... It seems that the majority of link building falls into the 'unnatural' category as we as SEOs are constantly trying to place our links throughout the web vs. site owners linking naturally back to a website
