Is GKP giving accurate Broad vs. Exact results?
-
I'm using the Google Keyword Planner, trying to get an idea of search volume, and I'm finding that if I check "Ad Keywords As > Broad Match", I get EXACTLY the same numbers as I do if I select "Ad Keywords As > Exact Match". I even exported the spreadsheets, and put them side by side, and the only difference between them is that one has "Keyword Type > Exact" all the way down the column, while the other has "Keyword Type > Broad". How can those numbers be the same?! Anyone else seeing this, or am I doing something incorrectly?! Thanks for your input!!

Hi Scott,
It is my understanding that search volume within the Keyword Planner Tool is given by exact match only. However, in the planner tool, the performance projections are given for each different match type.
Hope this helps,

Scott,
Frustration is something we all experience when dealing with a new software or an update. Keyword Planner is no different and we are still reading and trying to learn the ins and outs much like we were accustomed to with Keyword Tool. From what we know as Dan points out, Exact Match is the only data they show (checking the other options makes no difference).
We found this article which noted this a couple weeks ago http://www.ecommercefuel.com/google-keyword-planner-tool/.
Hope this helps as it is more useful for us SEO's now knowing only Exact is provided to us for presenting to clients or for our own records and intent to target.

Keyword Planner not showing exact match
hi guys I'm currently trying to optimize a site for 'Recruitment Agency North West' when I enter his term into keyword planner it gives me no results for the exact match, but offers me figures for 'Recruitment Agencies North West' Am I to assume that nobody has ever searched 'Recruitment Agency North West'?!!! and that I should be focusing on 'Recruitment Agencies North West' as my main key phrase? Is there another site other than keyword planner that will give me results for 'Recruitment Agency North West'? cheers M

Exact keyword match on a page is dead. Is this right??
Hi, I read that you should give up on using exact keywords on a page if it means that the written content flows better. I just want your thoughts on this please because I don't want to miss opportunities. The keywords used are an example: SEO LONDON is the high vol./popular keyword that I want a page to rank for. Would I use that as the main keyword throughout the page, even though it doesn't really make sense (by this I mean you'd never really use this term other than typing it into google)? Or should I use something that makes more sense such as, 'SEO IN LONDON' or LONDON SEO? Would Google overlook the 'IN' in 'seo in london' so it's seen as 'SEO London'? (Same sort of question for LONDON SEO). If this is the case then why does google still show 1000 hits for SEO LONDON and just 100 for SEO IN LONDON? This makes me think that I should just target the exact keyword that people are typing even if it doesn't look natural. Best, James

Impressions vs. Clicks
How can I research why I'm getting 600 impressions and 35 clicks? My main targeted keyword is coming up in 3rd place, but the number of clicks has not gone up very much.

Does google exact match domain name bonus work if the keywords are reversed?
For example, we all know that there is a ranking boost to having a domain name: http://bluewidgets.com when someone searches for "blue widgets". But would the domain name http://widgetsblue.com also get a bonus in the serp for "blue widgets" ?

Ranking Changes: Google.co.uk vs Google.com vs Google.com.au?
Why would my website appear, for example, second for a keyword search on Google.co.uk but on a search through Google.com or Google.com.au (Australia) not appear in the Top 50? Excuse the simplicity of the question!
