Duplicates from weird domains
-
My sit is http://www.webdesign.org/, but the other day I found these sites that have duplicates of my original site:
http://wordpresswww.webdesign.org/http://fdsfsdswww.webdesign.org/http://gfdgdfgdfgwordpresswww.webdesign.org/http://w54354353w.webdesign.org/http://wojhkhjkhw.webdesign.org/What really freaks me out is that the content on those sites is 100% up to date. Same as on http://www.webdesign.org/. Now here's my question. 1. Since my site http://www.webdesign.org/ is the root domain, I take it that I can somehow disable those sites (subdomains) from my domain 'admin panel' or what not?2. If you can use those subdomains even if you don't own the root domain (http://www.webdesign.org/), it looks that some negative SEO has been done to my site?Which of my assumptions are right? Please help me to figure that out.

Nice site and domain name!
hmm looks, like any subdomain works on your site, I would fix that ASAP. It looks like it redirects to the root folder that's why it shows the most current content. (because it is)
You Need to turn off / disable Wildcard Subdomains on your server. This will fix the issue.
This might just be robots digging around trying new things out for example http://1234567.webdesign.org/ does the same thing and I just made that up.

Using one domain for email and another domain for your website, but redirects...
We are rebranding and our new name is fairly lengthy. We own all main domain versions of our brand name - .com, .new and .org - There is a very high search volume for the new brand name as it is a merger of 2 popular existing brands so want to take advantage of that and use our full name within our website domain name. However, since the name is a little long as mentioned - 25 characters - we also own the 3 character acronym of the new brand so we are debating on using the acronym for our new email addresses. ie name@abc.com so it is user friendly. We would obviously redirect the acronym email domain to point to the longer website domain. Are there any negative SEO effects if we do that? Use the longer domain for the website and shorter acronym for our email? Thank you

Sub Domain vs New Domain
I have an existing blog separate from my main e-commerce site. (mainsite.com). Is there any advantage at all in moving the blog to a sub domain like blog.mainsite? I know putting it in a sub_folder_ is best. I don't want to do that because of security concerns. Handcrafter

Duplicate content on forums?
I am creating a forum. I am concerned that when I create the forum, users will copy content from other places to post onto my forum. How negative/bad is this in terms of google eyes? I am concerned when people copy press releases and re-post it to the forum. Should I make a rule that all content must be typed and not copied? Or is a little copying okay?

Duplicate Content on WordPress Blogs?
We are getting ready to add a WordPress blog to our established website. Our plans are to place it in a subfolder on our website to maximize rank. My question is...Do we need to utilize a Meta Robots WordPress plugin by Yoast or similar so that noindex, follow robots meta tags will prevent search engine indexing of search result pages, subpages and category archives? We want to avoid the dreaded Duplicate Content Error and penalty. Any other great SEO WordPress plugins? Thank you for your time. Brian
