Toolbar sais 33 PA & DA, does Google have the same values?
-
Hey Mozzers,
I've moved a domain 301 redirect to a new site... after around 2-3 weeks the seomoz toolbar sais i have PA & DA 33... which were both 1 as being a new domain.
Does Google credit the same kind of value to the new website if seomoz found the PA & DA being "33"?
-
Theoretically, yes. The 301 should tell search engines that the site is moved, so all factors previously attributed to Site A should now instead be attributed to Site B (with a minor loss).
Although already done, you could double check that you followed the best practise for moving a site laid out here, but if you're waiting to see toolbar PR, then you'll be waiting a while to see any updates (probably).
Is the site ranking for anything the old site used to? If so, you shoudl be fine, if not, double check the link and see if there's anything else you can do.
-
Well Open Site Explorer and the Toolbar try to predict what Google will see your site as. Domain Authority and Page Authority are values that the SEOMOZ engineers attempt to mimic the unknown Google algorithms, based on correlative data that they collect with Linkscape.
But yes, Google has algorithms that are based on trust and how well a site ranks, and how many links it has and what kind of sites they come from. They're obviously their own, and rather private.

Google is indexing our old domain
We changed our primary domain from vivitecsolutions.com to vivitec.net. Google is indexing our new domain, but still has our old domain indexed too. The problem is that the old site is timing out because of the https: Thought on how to make the old indexing go away or properly forward the https?

Pages to be indexed in Google
Hi, We have 70K posts in our site but Google has scanned 500K pages and these extra pages are category pages or User profile pages. Each category has a page and each user has a page. When we have 90K users so Google has indexed 90K pages of users alone. My question is. Should we leave it as they are or should we block them from being indexed? As we get unwanted landings to the pages and huge bounce rate. If we need to remove what needs to be done? Robots block or Noindex/Nofollow Regards

Google webmaster showing 0 indexed, yet I can see them all them Google search?
I can see them all the pages showing up in Google when i search for my site. But in webmaster tools under the sitemaps section in the indexed pages - the red bar is showing 0 indexed pages, even though they seem to be indexed. Any idea why is this showing like this? I don’t really think it’s that important as the pages are still indexed, but it just seems odd. Please see in the image.

Google Knowledge Graph related question
I have a client who is facing age discrimination in the film industry. (Big surprise there.) The problem is, when you type in his name, Google's new Knowledge Graph displays a brief bio about him to the right of the search results. This bio snippet includes his year of birth. Wikipedia is credited as the source for the bio information about him, and yet, his Wikipedia entry doesn't include his age or birth date. Neither does his iMDb bio. So the question is, How can he figure out where Google is getting that birthdate from? He wants to try and remove it, not falsify it. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Google & async="true"
Hello, Any idea if Google (or Bing) parses/indexes content from scripts that are loaded using the async="true" attribute? In other words, is asynchronously loaded content indexable? Thank you.

Best blocking solution for Google
Posting this for Dave SottimanoI Here's the scenario: You've got a set of URLs indexed by Google, and you want them out quickly Once you've managed to remove them, you want to block Googlebot from crawling them again - for whatever reason. Below is a sample of the URLs you want blocked, but you only want to block /beerbottles/ and anything past it: www.example.com/beers/brandofbeer/beerbottles/1 www.example.com/beers/brandofbeer/beerbottles/2 www.example.com/beers/brandofbeer/beerbottles/3 etc.. To remove the pages from the index should you?: Add the Meta=noindex, follow tag to each URL you want de-indexed Use GWT to help remove the pages Wait for Google to crawl again If that's successful, to block Googlebot from crawling again - should you?: Add this line to Robots.txt: DISALLOW */beerbottles/ Or add this line: DISALLOW: /beerbottles/ "To add the * or not to add the *, that is the question" Thanks! Dave
