If you are targeting decision makers of small to mid sized technology firms, it may be worthwhile also balancing an online campaign with an offline campaign (if you're not doing that already). I find a social media strategy is a great way to help SEO and get rankings, through in itself is weak in developing leads, unless done amazingly well. The reason is that most decision makers aren't actually using social media for business-related activities, they have people doing that for them, and those people aren't usually thinking about new service adds and making decisions about them. It sounds though that the purpose for your social media campaign is predominately to help SEO and drive your rankings upward, if this is the case using Facebook and Twitter would also be good for a Social Media campaign to support SEO. You will not get many sales leads from them, but they would be effective for SEO improvement.
Having said that, I find SEO always needs to also be balanced and put in a broader marketing strategy that also involves offline activities - making calls, networking, doing great work for existing clients to build client advocates. You may already be onto these things, but if not and your target market is decision makers of IT firms, these traditional forms of marketing would be additionally effective.
All the best.

Hi Val,
You may want to try finding online communities relevant to your industry that would be interested in your blog posts. If people in these communities find your posts really interesting they will share the link, which will enable a good natural linking profile.
Additionally, if you have not already, make sure that the onsite optimisation of your site is completely spot on. All efforts in blogging and social media will go to waste if you have not addressed onsite optimisation factors and done this effectively.
Good luck and hope this helps!

Blog posts to G+ and FB?
Hi, I was wondering if we should be taking our blog posts and also putting them on social sites as well such as G+ and FB? If so, does content need to change to avoid a duplicate issue and if so is there a "rule" of sorts in terms of how much to change the content up? I was just wondering since we are already taking the time to put together these "stories" on our blog if our other channels would benefit as well?

In 2013 is guest blogging a worthwhile activity?
Guest blogging is one of the activities I’ve never undertaken only because I went down the avenue of thinking if you go to the time and effort of producing great content why would you want it to be on someone else’s site when it could be on yours. The only reason I’m thinking about undertaking guest blogging now is because with social media becoming more prominent and indeed I found it to be very useful, I can see the logic that if you have got a niche of expertise to write about and you find good quality websites that will accept your guest blogs maybe that is a productive thing to do by attracting relevant traffic and also producing quality links to your website Have you got any experience of Guest blogging recently? Would you spend your precious time writing for your own website or spend some of that time guest blogging on good quality related websites? And if so what you see the main advantage is being?

Lost social share count after migrating blog
Hi, Yesterday I migrated our blog to a new domain. It seems it went smoothly and all 301 redirects were implemented and are working properly, however, the social share count was lost across all posts and has returned to zero. Is there any easy way I can recover our social share counts across the board? I am using the **1-click Retweet/Share/Like **plugin for Wordpress. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thank you, from Russell in South Africa.

How to track the performance of my guest blog posts?
I am doing some guest blog posting.and I want to measure how successful my effort was: when deciding the value of the links from the article Does google take into account how many times the article is read? Because some people do not bother taking further actions (like/share/clicks) even they like it. how do you guys check the amount of reader of those articles? I can't track this article views through analytics obviousely. On the other hand let say the article create valuable info to the readers (many people read it) but no likes/shares/bookmarks would this still be a successful article marketing?

How to get most out of viral blog traffic?
Our website has a WordPress blog, hosted at website.com/blog. I've discovered that with some hard work and a bit of luck, I can create a blog posts that will go viral - they will get about 50k readers in 1-3 days (which is a LOT for our website), and 300-1000 tweets, 100-250 Facebook shares, and anywhere from 10 to 130~ G+1s. (Unfortunately, these are for the posts, not for our website.) The posts will also get some comments. And most importantly, a few links - sometimes from very reputable domains. However, I feel that I could be doing much more here. The links go directly to the blog post, and I'm not sure how much is that helping our website overall in regards to SEO. What actions can I encourage the readers to do, and how should I prioritize them? Some of the actions are: Sharing/liking, writing a comment, checking out our products, subscribing to our Facebook/Twitter/G+ profile, subscribing to our RSS. One another possible action/opportunity that I see and which could potentially pay off is to offer some kind of PDF report to be emailed, which would initiate an autoresponder sequence. Do you think that having a clear call to action in a blog post could reduce the sharing of it ? Is it possible to encourage whoever is writing about our blog posts to use a direct link to our website, instead of linking directly to the post? If yes, how? E.g. if I included a direct link to our website in the post itself, e.g. in the most important part of the post that gets quoted, it could work - unfortunately that's usually virtually impossible. Am I sitting on a gold mine here, and should do this as much as possible? Should I consider putting this content not just onto the blog, but on our website.com/something ? I'm actually not sure how that would help though, it would simply have a shorter URL. I've discovered that it doesn't matter where I post this content, if the presentation looks decent. So it doesn't have to be posted on website.com/blog. I can even post it on other domains - should I? And the most important question: How do I get the most out of this opportunity in SEO regards? Thanks for any ideas or insights!

Google Plus for Website - Should the button be available on the homepage or just blog posts and other sticky content?
I am trying to understand if I should add the Google +1 button to my client's homepages in addition to "sticky" content. Any insight here would be greatly appreciated.

Working with 3rd PArty Social Media partners / paid blogs
Hi there! We are an ecommerce company based in the UK and are an online butcher. We are looking to further our contribution and authority in a social sphere, in particular develop relations with bloggers and social sites who are realised to have authority in our sphere (food / meat). At present we are active in the usual (Twitter, Facebook etc) and have over 1000 likes and followers. We also have a cool blog which can be found at www.donaldrussell.com/weblog/index.html We are looking at our content and would like to share this with other bloggers in return for backlinks and visits from these blogs, and in turn improve our pagerank and SEO ratings. I have been offered the chance to work with EBuzzing, who claim to get your content published and referred to but you have to pay these "bloggers" for the privelage. Is this a good way of furthering our social strategy in the short term, or is this the wrong way to go and do search engines devalue these links? My preference is to organically grow our presence through becoming a valuable contributor and have alsways strongly advocated this, however Ebuzzing or other simillar services sound too good to be true! Are they? Hope you can help me, and look forward to your thoughts. Many thanks Gary
