Redirecting to new domain
-
Hi,
I switched my ecommerce site to a new domain, how can I get my new site indexed aneast art building links when my oils site is still indexed?
-
This. Get a crawl of your site using a sitemap, Screaming Frog or something similar - then direct those old URLs to the most relevant new ones. This is simple enough with a SF export and then a bit of Excel manipulation.
-
Are you able to place 301 redirects on the Old Domain pointing to the new one? If so, 1-to-1 redirects of pages from the Old Domain to their most relevant counterpart on the New Domain is a good step.

Duplicate meta data for 301 redirected items
Google webmaster tools tells me that I have duplicate title tags for two items. They have the same product ID. When there is a change in SEO URL, the system does an automatic 301 redirect of the first item towards the second item, like in the example below:

Domain Name and On-Page SEO
Where are the best places to put your Domain name in On-Page SEO? My domain name ends in .net so I would like to put it as many places as possible to brand the .net . On the analysis page I have found out that it is not a good idea to put it in the title page...but that is what the SEO guy I hired told me to do. Thanks, Utah Tiger

Value of Domain Names
Hello, I have an ecommerce site that sells personalized gifts. I am wondering about the value of purchasing domain names for specific products and have them point to a landing page. For example: the domain name personalizediphonecases.com would point to my page of that product. Is that a good idea? Thank you!

Forcing keywords into domain structure
Hi there, Over the last few years, I've seen people structuring their site so that their main content is all housed in a folder named after the site's primary keywords. For example, if I had some content about home insurance, normally naming conventions state that I might put the content at a URL such as: www.mydomain.com/home-insurance However, some sites, may change this structure to include their main keyword again in the URL string: www.mydomain.com/insurance/home-insurance The folder 'insurance' would normally hold the site's Sitemap to increase internal linking strategy too. I'd be really interested to hear whether anyone has seen any serious benefits from re-structuring their site in this way? What are your thoughts on this? Thanks,
