Schema showing up in product listing?
-
I have added schema to my product page as follows:
Example product description
.....
and so forth.
However, the schema is showing up on the product page itself. How do I keep the schema on the SERP page, but not on the product page? My client doesn't want it to affect the site design.
Thanks!

Thank you so much, Peter. I was hoping that might be the answer. I will play with it some more, and post if I can't get it fixed.
I really appreciate it!

Hi Donna
The schema should definitely not show up in the page. Either you have miscoded something or the editor in your Content Management System is messing up the schema code.
The most common thing that causes code to display as content is when a preceding block of code is not finished off correctly, maybe a missing quote (") on a class statement or a tag (e.g. ) not closed by its tag pair (e.g. .
So I recommend you look at the source code to check if there's something missing and if you're still stuck post a link back here so it the page can be checked by another pair of eyes.
Peter

How do we remove organic listing in other countries for our brand?
We have noticed that we're getting over 25,000 impressions from India over the last 3 months for our brand term. We are seeing similar results from other countries too but not as much. Having used FatRank I can see that our brand name is ranking in position 1 and 2 in multiple countries, this wouldn't be a problem if 1. we sold cars there and 2. they weren't producing leads for our sales guys to follow up which is causing problems. How can we exclude other countries? In Search Console we are already just targeting the UK. Thanks 🙂

Curious about quick SEO results showing up...
Recently, I did a couple of major SEO mods on our e-commerce site. Here's what I did: A. No-indexed hundreds of thousands of Search Results pages. B. Changed the URL structure for the better of our product pages. I literally made these changes about 3 weeks ago and I am seeing some very interesting results in such a short period of time. Here is one example. My product pages increased impressions by about 20% or so, but the real crazy thing is the increase in click through rate on my product pages. All of a sudden I am getting about a 95% clickthrough rate!??!?! Previously I was getting around 58%. Any ideas on this? Is it a normal fluctuation that goes away? Or can I expect it to stay or even improve? Thanks! Craig

How big is the problem: 404-errors as result of out of stock products?
We had a discussion about the importance of 404-errors as result of products which are out of stock. Of course this is not good, but what is the leverance in terms of importance: low-medium-high?

Schema markup for products is missing "price": Is this bad?
Hey guys, So a current client of mine has an e-commerce shop with a few hundred products. They purposely choose to keep the prices off of their website, which is causing errors in Google Webmaster Tools. Basically the error shows: Error: Structured Data > Product (markup: schema.org) Error type: missing price 208 items with error Is this a huge deal? Or are we allowed to have non-numerical prices for schema ie. "call for quote"

Javascript funtion as link? Why not show up?
We joined our Chamber of Commerce for the "link" as much as anything. After 9 months of having a link from our local chamber it has never showed up anywhere. You can see the link on my Chambers page, and you can click on it and it works. But it does not show up anywhere else....Not in any backlink checker, not in SEOmoz, not in Google Webmaster Tools. When I hover over our link on their page I see "javascript:encodeclick........my url" Is this link worth anything? What is a javascriptencodeclick? Does Google know it exists and give me credit for it? Our Chamber is clueless... they hire someone to do their website. Their webmasters response to my question was: Hi, These links look like this because this is just the way our system parses URLs that are entered into the membership directory so they can be clickable when displayed in the lister. These links will not have a negative effect on Google or SEO indexing purposes if that is what you are concerned about. They are not encoded or encrypted, this just happens to be the name of the Javascript function.
